Sturridge was average last night .The problem is he cannot make a decent pass or cross most of the time.He put in two good crosses last night and showed loads of pace , but gave the ball away cheaply many times .He has to improve his passing game and work rate to succeed at the top club, else he will be another Theo Walcott.

Average? on decent ball across goal other thn that he lost posession about 20 times. slows down our play whn he gets the ball. should sale him end of profit ideal

Agree5 Disagree1

He's not yet as good as Theo Walcott; at the moment, perhaps one of the most selfish players in the Premier? Or anyone like to nominate a more selfish one?

Alba - £8m?
M'Villa - £15m?
Goetze - £30m?

These fifa prizes? Those three be closer to £80m easy.

Just stop this please. Ask Ed02 for the amounts quoted for top talent in Ligue1. M'Villa would easily command as much as we have paid for Essien. Alba 8? did you pay this much for him in Football Manager?

Let's just skip these things to the summer. In my opinion it is pointless to discuss summer purcases when we don't have an idea of who's gonna managethe team next term. Will DD stay or go? Will Kalou extend? What do we do with Essien and Mikel, Malouda, Bos, etc.

Althouht i'd love us to get M'Villa, but that would take a lot of competition for his services and we'll probably have to let Essien and Obi go.

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

M'Villa as a replacement for Essein and Obi sounds great to me and the sales would cover the majority of his transfer fee.

Get rid of torres and play mata behind the striker

Agree1 Disagree2

Wow! What an insight! If we get rid of Torress and play Mata behind the Striker (who?) are we contenders right away? Mata plays free role most of the match anyway. The problem is we don't hav anyone, other than Malouda to play on the left. Or right. We all know that. We need to sort our width first and foremost.

I must have read Ed002 response about Hazard atleast 15 times, feel bad for the guy, time to go back to 'See previous posts' me thinks! Get to the game last night Ed? Melbourne CFC {Ed002's Note - I did, yes.}

CFCMatt what i meant is that feeling that i imagine most Chelsea supporters experience when the boys get a unbelievable result after an immensely tense game (season) and show the true CFC spirit. JT and FL both said this result is right at the top of the list for them. And taking a bird for dinner sunday mate, wish me luck. Back on the sh*t phone so cant reply Nova. What a night what a night. Well his future at Real Madrid is far from clear and he does have a desire to return to England at some point. And with the board at Chelsea keen on him returning then the signs are good. However, as I said things can change pretty quickly in football, so don't go getting your hopes up.

Best result for the club in a long time. Good to see some old are passed the players as some may say to get on the scoresheet that important win. hopefully some peanuts constantly on their back will think a little bit harder before piping up again. Still believe they need to be replaced in the near future however obviously at this stage they still have a role to play.

Great game last night, thought all the players played out of their skins. Torres may not be scoring but his work rate was second to none. Good to see everyone united as a team the bench included.! More of this please

Got to bed at 3am having watched match in Cape Town -- knackered but happy. Night's like compensate for much of the *%$£ that we've all sat/stood through over the years. But I think getting more of the spirit of last night will depend almost entirely on attitude of senior players. Not sure how much the manager mattered....save in the key matter of going back to the tried and tested players. We looked dreadful v Stoke cos most mentally thinking ahead to last night. Last night the players wanted to win it and played out of their skins.Drogba the immense big match player he always can be and other seniors not far behind. Problem is getting through the 'minor' league games with enough wins, ugly or otherwise, and that was where Mourinho really installed discipline. But good luck to RDM, and great that a)he has no black raincoat b)doesn't go down on his haunches for the snail's eye view. But AVB never stood a chance of his 'project' succeeding unless he had gone for revolutionary change last summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

You just reminded me of the night when we beat Liverpool 3-2 in 2008. Was in Cape Town and have watched the game in the irish pub right off the waterfront. Can't remember the name, but you can't miss it.

We were only 3 of us in thenwhole place supporting Chelsea. Screaming our lungs off. What a game that was. Just like yesterday.

You honestly think RDM is running the team. When Luiz tried to limp off it wasn't RDM giving him the instructions...Epic performance though. Congrats

Seeing JT on the sidelines after he was taken off. It is written. Can't prevent it. If we do not get Mourinho to manage Chelsea next term. Leave it as it is. Kick off JT to do his badges over the summer and promote him to player/assistant manager.

I know it soind a little odd, but like i said before - we've done that in the past. Twice. Lot like in 1920ies. Both Vialli and Gullit did the job. Albeit a little older that JT is now, but does that matter?

Torres played 30 mins and missed another sitter! When people say he played well do they mean he ran!???? Because we might aswell sign usain bolt then he's a good runner! Torres is shocking! Supported Chelsea my whole life and I'm telling you he's not got it no more!!!

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Are you high ?

Agree4 Disagree0

Noone is pleased he is not scoring, but calling that chance a "sitter"... Please...

JG

Agree6 Disagree0

Torres's touch and movement caused alot of trouble when he came on, he did more than Sturridge did in leads time , the goals will come

Agree3 Disagree0

A sitter are you kidding. Plus he made clever runs openin up thr defence

Agree4 Disagree0

By Torres standard it was a sitter. He did really well though out on the right

Agree1 Disagree1

50 million to make clever runs eh,a striker earns his money by scoring goals which is something hes failed to do in months,if we had gat shut and got a proper striker in we would be a lot higher up the table, cut our losses and get shut as soon as.

Agree1 Disagree2

Torres was brilliant last night. He gave us and attacking edge that we sorely missed in our previous games.Drogba and Torres should start together every game,Drogba in the middle and Torres floating in the left and right inside channels. If we play both of them we will definitely finish 3rd in the league.Who knows we might even win the champions league and the FA cup.

It's taken until mid-march for me to be afforded some football smugness! Di Matteo has a genuine affection for the club; I'd love to see him grab the job by both hands and do well!

Great effort tonight!

One hell of a victory. Can't show my happiness enough. David Luiz and Terry were amazing. Cavani who??

Very impressed with the rest of the loads. E.g lamps, drogs, mata, rami etc. Team effort.

Special praise for a player who's going through a rough patch in Torres. I thought he worked his socks off and played great. More of that from him and will finish the season strong.

Shak...
