Thank you for the quick response. Are we intending on filling that position with someone new, or is the club happy with both Angelo Alessio, and Gianluca Conte? Seems all the talk of a replacement has died down in recent times.

Cheers Ed! Final question, some reports are breaking (Duncan Castles being one) that Antonio Conte is set to walk away. No truth in this, right? Would be calamitous, and only create tension between fans and board again.

No, Ed. Reporters such as Duncan Castles and Di Marzio have said that the relationship between club and head coach aren't 'rosy'. Could you provide us any insight as to how are things behind the scenes? Is there any trouble?

Quick question, why is the Chelsea page so quiet compared to other teams pages? Is it because transfer talk is quiet or the people on here? I admit I snapped the other day but wasn't towards you or any of the other eds. just some people expect Chelsea to sign marquee players every window. When we all know it doesn't work like that. It's real life not Fifa. Thanks for the updates mate. It really is appreciated.

CFCAdam we signed marquee players 3 seasons ago Costa and Cesc.
Last season we signed four players Michy Batushayi, David Luiz, Kante and Alonso.
However only Kante was first choice.
Luiz and Alonso were not even second choice targets.
As a fan we will expect CFC to spend but at the end of transfer window we will be happy about what we have.

It's not about signing marquee players. For example, I'd love us to get Bernardeschi, but most wouldn't view him as a marquee signing. It's all about improving the team, as you can be sure that the Manchesters will be spending big and improving their team. We can't fall behind.

Maybe we're thinking about the bigger picture, developing our amazing youth that RA's spent millions on, rather than short term multi million pound signings.
Maybe we've made signings already but, because the Nike deal isn't in gear yet, the club won't announce them.
Maybe Chelsea are refusing to engage in stupid auctioning just because they're Chelsea and the have Premier League TV money.
Maybe we should just recognize the fact that the window isn't open yet, the press tell lies and there's a long, long way to go!

Well let's hope the club have learnt their lesson from the Jose winning year, when the club didn't back the manager for new players. Hopefully they will listen to conte and what is required to compete for champions league and premiership.

Agree with ed. We don't need unhappy players at the club and Costa isn't the type to sit quietly. As much as I've always liked and supported him it is now time form to leave. Luck (if/ when he arrives) will be a good signing in my opinion.

Costa was not happy, he helped us to win title but his heart was always set for Atletico return.
I am happy that Conte still managed him well last season, but now its time to say good bye to Costa and wish him luck for his future.
I hope lukaku or whoever comes as Costa replacement, fills his shoe properly.
