Gotta say watching Italy play that how the players fit in his system is more important to conte than how good of a player they are. It's encouraging that a lot of our players fit very nicely in his system. That being said I feel there are a couple that don't in Hazard and Azpilicueta. It would make the most sense to me to play hazard as one of the two forwards and just lean on Diego to hold the ball up. Azpilicueta also intrigues me as we've never really seen him provide a ton from an attacking standpoint, but I think some of that was a combination ofprotecting Terry and Jose's system. All in all a lot of our players are suited to the system he currently employs.

I agree with you Tk. I think it's a system that we could be very effective with. T
Add a quality CB to replace Terry or Ivanovic, someone like Candreva to play on the right instead of Willian or Azpilicueta and an all action CM like Nainggolan for Matic or RLC and we could be very, very good.

Out wide I think we've got a lot of nice options in Willian, Cuadrado, Baba, Dave, and Kennedy. I agree that we'll need a box to box mid regardless of the system we employ. We're going to completely flip our forward group. And I agree that we could use a world class centrehalf.

Conte has a big problem with Italian squad since his main midfielders from qualifiers are injured and they are not at EURO. So, he is playing with players he has available. That's why Italy looks defensive. Chelsea has much more offensive squad which means he will force attacking football with high pressing. The formation is not true 352 but variation to 352 (3142 actually) and it's a pretty much offensive formation. Is he going to force his successful 3142 or classic 3412 or 3421 or perhaps 442 we will be able to see soon enough.

{Ed018's Note - as long as we get 10 outfield players out there that want to win that's all that matters}

Exactly Ed018.players who buy into his philosophy and demonstrate a willingness to sacrifice and win as a team will make him a success.

Also no tactical change can create Pace, heart, desire, ability or clinical finishing, so we'll see by the end of summer how many of our current players fit Conte's system.

Also everyone (especially media) seems to be results fixated on the Euros as opposed to watching the context of these matches. For example if team1 doesn't score it must be because team2 were brilliant defensively and well organized but that's not always true, sometimes team1 is just unlucky or wasteful on the day. I'll wait to see how the rest of group stages play out before saying more.

ed018 what you said is a must. Tactical approach also is very important.

Just a quick three part question if you don't mind ED002:

-Should interest from Chelsea return to John Stones, would the club be willing to match any package put forward by other likely suitors such as City and United?

-Or will those two clubs be seen as stupid enough by Everton to vastly overpay with United having a track record of doing it and City having extra funds available due to Laporte deciding to stay?

-Have the club been alerted to the intentions of Stones, should Everton accept a potential bid, and has this resulted in them looking elsewhere for a centre half?

Thanks for your time.

{Ed002's Note - As there is no interest from Chelsea I cannot answer these questions.}

Unbelievable, we're still beating the drums to sign a player who was benched on a mid table team and can't get on the pitch for his country because of Gary Cahill yet our club fans want us to pay way-over-the-odds for him.

Maybe but a few folk at ease on this page, that they are working on bringing in some really good players and are willing to splash the cash.

It is understood Valencia are keen to drive up the fee for Gomes, due to a sell-on clause between themselves and his former club Benfica.

It is a stance that has left Valencia and Chelsea approximately £10m apart in their valuation of the player.

Valencia are believed to want to generate £32m from his sale for themselves, and are therefore holding out for approximately £42m.

According to Sky sources, Chelsea have not yet been prepared to increase their offer and are now considering their next move.

I really hope we up our bid (if the "sources" are indeed correct that there's been an actual bid) . Go up to 40m, that should make them sell. Either we handle this quickly or another club (probably United) will go all in for him and get him immediately.
