Played a very below average game today I thought, Thought the team lacked energy and looked tired, thankfully we now have a week off, Passing seemed slow at times from several players, and I fear we may have become too dependant of Hazards ability to create opportunities, Luiz just isn't a centre back, I understand today that injuries may have resulted in him playing there but still, and I thought that Mikel just didn't help the defence at all, Silva just walked past him to set up Nasri and this happened multiple times, But furthermore, City played well, they didn't allow our front 4 any space, let's just hope it's a one of and we'll be back to winning ways against Everton.

Slow and laboured no desire! Same as west brom. I have to say azpilicueta, Cahill, matic and hazard did all they can. But Willian tracking back brilliant, attacking he lacks the first touch and decent pass. Ramires needs to have his lead let off! Mikel what can I say. Still some building to do next season!

I agree Blueboy, I also thought Ivanovic played quite well, but I really don't understand Ramires being played on the wing, especially when there is Mikel trying unsuccessfully in the defensive midfield role, played Ramires there is limiting to the thing he's good at, running, I'm sorry but he can't pass so as one of the front three he's below average, I just hope the team performance was poor due to fatigue.

I also agree with Blueboy. To be honest, as hard working as willian is his first touch and passing is awful for a player we bought for 30 mil. Rami can be forgiven for a number of reasons :). And alson not to have a go at Salah but I thought we could have done better in a replacement for juan. Like townsend would have been wonderful for us would have fixed the home grown bill and also what we need in terms of a super sup impact player just saying.

Upwards and onwards lads can't win them all although it would be nice the better team won today but i'd rather take the home and away Prem wins against them then an FA cup tie, week off should do the guys a world of good and we have the return of Drogba to look forward to.

Didn't look like we came to play. Pathetic performance. But we will shake it off and bounce back mid week to beat Gala!

{Ed018's Note - team looks tired. A week off will do some good}

We don't play Gala next week, week after. Next match is Everton on Saturday.

Thank you for pointing that out!

That Jovetic dive was absolutely disgusting. It's sad to think that is only a booking, clear cheating, and if he had fooled the ref, Luiz would potentially had been off. Pathetic, absolutely pathetic.

Mikel is simply letting Silva run off him too often. He needs to do his job because I appreciate he ain't an attacking midfielder but therefore I expect him to do his defensive duties capably. It led to their goal unfortunately.Having said that, he needs to speed up his passing, because we need quick transition when we overturn possession and he is slowing the game down so much. I'm still confident though. C'mon Chels for the second Half!

You can't always pick on mikel when we loose. Come on Jose got it wrong. He seems to be playing the same players and doesn't trust his squad the lads looked tired and again, Mikel wasn't the worst on the field he didn't do too much wrong today, be honest in your criticisim ffs.

Im not "picking on Mikel when we loose" - I posted this at half time hence the encouragement for the second half. The difference from last week was simply that Mikel was in and JT out. It was clear that Mikel let Silva go for their first goal, and throughout the first half let City players get in behind the midfield (where they are at their most dangerous). Mikel isn't a creative player so if he isn't even doing his defensive duties I wonder to myself what the point of having him in the team is? For a center midfielder he slows the play down too much and affects every single player in front of him because the opposition have a chance to get back into shape before the likes of Hazard, Oscar, Salah, Torres receive the ball. Every single pass reach the intended player at a snails pace, and the ball is always sideways! I have defended Mikel in the past and I am still of the belief that he is a good player, there are moments when I just want him to let the shackles go and burst forward and have a more attacking mentality, but I feel that his style of play just isn't suited to Chelsea now. David Luiz is ten times the player in that position compared to Mikel. I'm not saying that we would have won if Mikel wasn't in the team but I certainly believe we would have stood a better chance. Why would I waste my time posting if I wasn't being honest? - just speaking my opinion!

{Ed018's Note - Mikel isn't good enough for Chelsea. It shouldn't even be up for debate anymore}

I agree that Mikel isn't good for us never was, all i'm saying is it was a woeful team performance and that's what we should all point out, no player stood out, no one was at their best.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you that the team played bad, but Mikel makes every other player's job ten times harder. That is what I'm saying.

All this chat about Mikel. I am not a fan of his as I feel he is to negative. He wasn't great but I thought the person responsible for there first goal was Czech. I thought if he had not come right out he would have given himself more reaction time. Thought he looked shaky. The second was offside, but they deserved it.
Generally poor performance thought rami was not at it, also when Salah came on looked totally out of his depth.
Just put it behind us and not get ahead of ourselves, we are a team for next year anything this year will be a bonus

WOW first 30 minutes how pumped up are city over powering us in every position doubling up on hazard besting us to everything get in at half time and sort it out. Why matic and mikel I will never no ramieres on wing is a no get salah out there and don't no what's up with willain can't keep the f@#king ball

I don't even think Chelsea have had a shot on target. They are basically relying on Hazard to dribble past 2/3 players and create something out of nothing, seem completely bereft of ideas. The problem with using a centre back as a right back (Ivanovic) and a right sided player as left back (Azpilucueta) is we have no width what so ever. Ivanovic can not cross a ball and Azpilicueta can't use his left foot. I think Mourinho might need to re-think what he is doing in terms of getting some width into the Chelsea formation.
