For those of you who'd like us to sign Gabriel Barbosa, Di Marzio's got some bad news. Apparently Juventus have an agreement with the player and now have to agree a deal with the club. So it'd seem that he's closer to joining them, and unlikely to join Chelsea.
While I'd definitely have liked him myself, I don't think another attacking player is a necessity right now. Hopefully a CM and CB will join soon.

I wonder why it's so easy for Juve to get an agreement for players while we always take forever in similar situations. Same thing happened with Pjanic whom we had a free ride for but couldn't agree terms for since january but took juve just a little while to get him and now the same is happening here with a player we've been scouting for over a season and can't seem to get an agreement on for his signature. Sucks.

Bayern too. They always finish things so fast and out of sudden. Our negotiation team should work that way.

Because they are elite clubs who are far far bigger than Chelsea! They are teams that you dream of playing for.

Juve may be bigger than chelsea but they are not more financially buoyant than chelsea.

Di Marzio isn't always right. No-one seems to know what is happening with Gabriel right now, his agent is touting him around trying to get the best possible deal for himself. And personally I would rather see Traore, Abraham, Solanke or Kenedy get his minutes.

There's big ownership issues around Barbosa. From what I've heard Santos owns a %, a third party owns a % and Barbosa himself owns a %. Juventus are believed to be more willing to deal with the ownership issues than we are.

We're (apparently) willing to spend 25m on a whole package whilst, so far, Juve have (apparently) offered 16m just for Santos's %. That's more than they'd get out of the share of our 25m offer. Barbosa himself holds an invested interest in his sale price as he will be getting a sizeable chunk of it too. Juventus being willing to (apparently) deal with his % as a seperate entity means he can negotiate a higher price with them - that'll probably make them a more favourable option to him.

Don't know how much truth there is in that, just passing on what I've heard.

A question for Ed001, what's your view on Lukaku, Gomes and Pogba as we've been linked to them at different times? Do you think they are worth the hype and the price being put on their head?

{Ed001's Note - Lukaku has a dreadful touch, poor attitude and dreadful movement. Not worth anything, he is a disruptive influence.

I don't know a lot about Gomes, sorry.

Pogba is a fantastic talent. From what I have been told by those who have dealt with him he is a genuinely nice lad as well. No one is truly worth those kind of figures, but that is the market rate so he is worth it in terms of that.}

Thanks for the info man. I've the same view regarding Lukaku.

Totally agree with your lukaku analysis. he's also a flat track bully. Gets unimportant goals ( apart from against chelsea )

Am sorry ed but going on last 50 prem games only aguero out scored lukaku in a rubbish team.

{Ed001's Note - and your point is? Remy scored goals before joining Chelsea, did that mean he was a good signing? Lukaku may be in a side that couldn't defend, but they were far from rubbish going forward and created him many many chances. If he had not been so lazy and stroppy he would have scored more than Aguero.}

My point is you can't exactly slate the bloke with his record put him in a better team he will get loads. Think a lot of people miss understand lukaku!

Same thing will happen if he gets to a bigger club. He thinks he is better than he actually is. His attitude is the problem not the talent.

Liked what I heard from Conte's press conference. Appears he's not as married to 3 at the back like some believe. Like the determination and desire to fight.
