I believe the club has done enough for Odoi. If he ends up leaving nobody should blame the club as the boy has not reciprocated neither the club's nor the fans' trust and believe. And Bayern should be reported for tapping up the player.

Look how it looks to him. Play out of your skin in preseason and then don’t see the pitch all year until you ask to leave . we haven’t shown a lot of trust in him until now and that’s due to injuries mate .

I join with the vast majority of Chelsea fans who will be very sorry if CHO leaves our wonderful club. A club that has helped to develop his talents for the last ten years.

In a previous post I outlined my reasons why I believe he will be making a mistake to leave our club for Bayern.

I have also posted that I can see no reason why our club should allow him to go in this window.

As far as I’m concerned he wasn’t forced to sign a contract so he should honour the contract signed by both parties.

I’m aware that our club very rarely stops a player from leaving if they want to go but in this case I think we should keep him until at least the next window.

He was never going to supplant the starting players right away. He only needed to be patient and work hard in training to impress the coach. The least he can do is to keep an open mind and not be forcing the club's hand.

Didn't Ed002 state a while back that Hudson-Odoi cannot play because of his age or something? If I remember reading rightly.

This is why I don't get all hyped up about our youth academy. The boy gets minutes in the first team and what more does he expect? Why would a new manager put their faith and trust in a 17 year old boy! I wouldn't. God knows why these lads listen to their agents/ management.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the midweek games are a problem but Saturday and Sunday he can play fine.}

because CFCAdam his brother i believe is acting as his agent.

CFC Adam, he still could have contributed more than he has. He’s too big a prospect.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jan 2019 07:04:56
PROSPECT. Got it in one. not a first team key player, probably rotation is all he could hope for this season and he’s getting minutes.

15 Jan 2019 07:17:49
Adam you seem very stuck in your point of view so no need of a discussion mate.

15 Jan 2019 09:21:31
No but people like you and many many others obsessed with playing youth players. Players who IMO have done nothing in the game. CHO is very lucky, he has a lot of potential and as I’ve stated many times before, why would sarri in his first season put his trust in a 17 year old boy? He’s been given minutes over the course of the season. Why now does he think he deserves more and playing in front of a very experienced duo in Pedro and Willian? Form is temporary class is permanent. He could have waited until end of season and said he wants a move or a loan. Why now? That’s what gets my back up.

I’m hardly obsessed with playing youth. I’ve stated on many occasions that Willian and Pedro still have big parts to play in the season. Age is irrelevant and as I said he played quality in preseason, arguably our best player and saw the pitch for about 40 minutes after that until injuries forced sarri’s hand. The guy is good enough and should have seen more minutes in my opinion. I’m not saying he should start, but he should have been an option of the bench over a third central midfielder.

Adam, a players career is short and he hasn’t to make the best decision for him. We haven’t shown faith in him until now (which he has immediately repayed) due to injuries. Bayern showed interest and he maybe sees them as a better option for him.

That’s all I’m saying mate, not obsessed with youth.

You can’t judge anything in Pre season for any team. Just there to get match fit that’s all.

But we play with 3 Cm’s so why wouldn’t we have more of them on the bench rather then a young winger? With hazard you could stick him on either wing along with Pedro and Willian. So there’s options there.

What you on about we haven’t shown faith in him? He’s been with us since the age of 8. That’s ten years already. Not shown faith, lol. If he wasn’t shown faith they wouldn’t have given him a pro contract, they wouldn’t be offering him a new one neither.

When he plays now he still shows his rawness. That will subside when playing more. But to think he can demand minutes at a club like Chelsea is laughable. Also the fact that he may think he’ll get more game time at Bayern.

If the boy wants to go, then let him. But do it on our terms. Simple really.

Like I said Adam your not up for a discussion as you’re stuck in your opinion. Not worth it mate.

Ed001, sorry to bother you, but since Ed002 is not doing a Chelsea Sharkopod, can you help us by telling us which players from the Chelsea squad are likely to stay on after the summer?

Kepa, Caballero, Green, Bulka, Azpi, Zappacosta, Christensen, Luiz, Rudiger, Ampadu, Cahill, Alonso, Emerson, Jorginho, Kante, Barkley, RLC, Willian, Hazard, Pedro, Hudson-Odoi, Morata, Giroud, Moses, Drinkwater

You already mentioned about Willian and Pedro likely to stay so I guess there's that.

Thanks in advance.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - the expected outs are Zappacosta,, Cahill, Morata, Moses and Drinkwater. Obviously Hudson-Odoi and a few others might choose to leave but only those 5 are wanted out.}

14 Jan 2019 15:49:54
Ed, so Green, Caballero, Luiz and Giroud will be offered new contracts?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it does look that way right now.}

14 Jan 2019 16:09:31
Don’t think offering Giroud is the best idea. We should bring two new strikers in and offload Michy too he’s not good enough. Hopefully Willian and Alonso join that list too.

Olivier Giroud is a very good option to have off the bench if we’re chasing a game, and looking for a goal in the late stages.

Yeah mate scored 1 goal all season he’s a great option.

I think the Giroud comment from RyRy falls iimto his long ball or lump it mantra.

If we ever take up that style of football, I assume Roman will have sold the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 19:46:12
yeah but RyRy wants us to play direct balls so we can lump it up to him. He finds it more entertaining.

Big week ahead of us. Surely if we beat Arsenal, we’ll only have United to hold off for 4th. All of a sudden spurs may find themself in trouble as well with Kane’s injury and Son heading to the Asia cup. Doesn’t matter how we do it, but we need to keep grinding out wins.

Can I just say I am so happy and impressed with Maurizio Sarri. We have a quality manager and I hope he’s with us for a long time. I have the utmost faith in him.

We’re well and truly on the up and I can feel us winning the title next season.

14 Jan 2019 11:27:46
agreed. we look every different and a few tweaks here and there with his own players then yes we could be in. for a good future.

only concern he is very stubborn in terms of changing a starting line up and. different formations/ tactics for different oppositions. same players week in week (Alonso, Willian etc) even when they are playing poor. doesn't like to rotate but then again ed001 did say that before he could us.
I would of liked to have seen Christiansen and Emerson given more playing time and given players a rest now. and then.

I’m one of life’s optimists, ’I think we win the league this season and next season.

I suppose there are people who will consider me to be bonkers but who cares if there wrong!

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 11:37:43
Yes wheely Alonso and Willian have been in poor form but like Ed001 also said the players therefore put in better performances for the manager and they have had faith shown in them. I think Alonso and Willian are quality, only Alonso has been in poor form and the latter is inconsistent. Cho should have seen more minutes by now but Willian is a very good player.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 11:40:37
I understand your point Wheely, however, Sarri sees these players day after day, and perhaps, he doesn't see them as good enough to play regularly.

Perhaps they're not taking on his coaching sessions as well as others?

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 12:46:25
I'm not sure I can be that positive about Sarri looking at our performances this season - to compete with City, we will have to invest heavily in 2 strikers, a creative midfielder, a goal-scoring midfielder, 2 attacking full-backs, and a dominant centre-back - plus persuade Hazard and CHO to stay.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 14:04:48
I agree.

I like him as I like the fact as we have more possession but goal get you wins. what worries me we have no goal scoring midfielder. This is due to the fact we don't shoot. always want to make one pass to much. Miss Lampard type player. we had him Ballack always looking to shoot. What's strange is Barkley used to do that at Everton.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 14:36:06
So Mrs Costa, just to understand. You blame sarri for the teams performances, but to fix it you want to essentially buy a new team?

Personally I think sarri is doing a great job, given a bit more time I think we'll be very difficult to stop. I just hope he actually gets given the time.

14 Jan 2019 16:10:32
Willian and Alonso quality. There’s optimistic then just plain silly 😂.

Agree2 Disagree1

14 Jan 2019 16:42:02
Kante, I’m not a massive fan of Willian and I do think managers for many years have seen something that I don’t but I’m sure they all know more than me.

Alonso attracts criticism from lots of posters and indeed on his current form I certainly believe Emerson should be given a chance but I also recall his form earlier in the season were previously critical posters were apologising for their previous perceptions.

Also, didn’t Sarri say Alonso was potentially the best left back in Europe? Although his form over the last few weeks has been poor I remain convinced he will return to earlier in the seasons form.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 18:16:48
cech118, I'm just saying that it's a bit early to be calling Sarri a success - and, at the moment, our play is slow and boring - we rely far too much on Hazard to win us games. But, I am open-minded about Sarri - when he gets his own squad together (if he's allowed to by Abramovich) then is the time to judge him.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2019 18:35:31
Wasn’t directed at you personally Tom B it was at standard but I’ve always classed players on their position of quality. Attackers score goals and impact the game and defenders defend. Willian is average in attack and Alonso is poor defensively we can all see it. Sarri also stated he likes Alonso in the side due to his height and ability to score which I disagree. Sign attackers who score I. e Higuain, Fekir and aim for a left back who can defend and attack I. e Chilwell.

Wheely, I agree Barkley’s recent performances are strange.

He looks to me to have lost confidence, he isn’t driving forward with the ball or getting in the box like he was at the start of the season.

I think it’s called playing with fear.
