News from talkSport, Juventus would agree to a deal that Pogba = Oscar + cash.
Its burning now in WAGNH now. What would you guy think about that?

Ed has replied that it's just a rumour and that it's not true at this time.
I'd think about it, but I love Oscar and I think he's pretty unique in what he does so I don't know if I'd go with it.

If we did sign Pogba it would disrupt Loftus-Cheek's development IMO. They're quite similar players. And Pogba would be too big a player to drop in the future. If it were Ramires however it wouldn't be such a big deal. A midfield 5 of Matic, Fabregas, Ramires, Ake and Loftus-Cheek would be really good I think with Ake to take Mikels place.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather keep Mikel if one of them were to go. I think Ake could play the box to box role pretty well in place of Ramires. He's got good passing and is very mobile :)

I think Loftus-Cheek would be much better at the box to box role.

Just in general i'm not sure ramires will be here next year. He's not a first choice selection and there have been quite a few big teams that have been very interested in him. Also think mikel has a lot more value than he gets credit for. He's very comfortable with positional awareness compared to others in that position, he's homegrown, and seems to be fine with being a squad player.

Hang on go back to the games we were one nil up city, schalke and united and then say his postitional play is good. Mikel needs to go.

I just don't know of who else people would propose that would have a better feel for the role. Akes name gets thrown around a ton but I feel that is the common situation where a players popularity seems to rise when they don't play. He doesn't seem to get a game and I feel you have to take that for what it's worth.

You have some hate for Mikel BLUEBOY

I am here with you blueboy. Each time I see mikel play or being prepared to change someone from the subs, I know trouble is coming.

Interesting facts about Zouma

Remarkably, the 20-year-old is yet to commit a single foul in 597 minutes of first team football. It is an incredible feat for a rookie centre-back, but Zouma seems to have taken the step up at Stamford Bridge with ease.

And after racking up his sixth clean sheet in just nine appearances in the 1-0 win over Everton on Wednesday night, Opta powered fantasy football game Oulala decided to took a closer look at the young Frenchman's performance statistics in the Premier League and Champions League this season.

Zouma's 87.5 per cent pass completion rate sits just above the overall Chelsea average of 86 per cent. The defender has completed a total of 297 passes in his nine appearances, an with an average of 45.5 passes every 90 minutes.

The former Saint Etienne man's tackle success of 50 per cent again edges the team average of low 44.6 per cent. And at a height of 6ft2in, it is no shock that he is also well ahead of the overall team average of 56.3 per cent for aerial duels, with an impressive 72.5 per cent success rate. His ground duel success is slighter lower but still superb, at 68.1 per cent. Again, it's above the team average of 52.6 per cent

Looks quality. He needs to be first choice now but I've got a funny feeling we'll see Cahill back vs PSG

Agree0 Disagree0

Was thinking about this just this morning.
He's playing incredibly well right now and certainly looks at ease next to Terry, even in the bigger games. Turns out the club made the right decision to keep him in the squad. It's great news because it means we can keep the centre backs fresh as well.
However, I still think we need a new cb for when Terry's role reduces (or in case he leaves). His leadership is IMO very important in Zouma playing so well. We need someone who can organize the back four when Terry isn't around. Varane is young but has a lot of experience so he'd be my pick (and apparently the club's choice as well if they can get him).

I love this club :)

Seems like I might be the only one that would consider having Romelu Lukaku back?

I get everyone is mad about his comments in the media, firstly when he was at chelsea, and now at Everton.

Lukaku said he'd like to be at a big club, so did Berahino, so did Doug Costa. All young, all can learn. I'm not happy with what he said but he's obviously extremely unhappy with the quality of football Everton are playing and the lack of service provided.

When he was at chelsea, Andre Schurrle, a non striker, got choses before Lukaku to play against Manchester United, would that not anger you? Did he even play a game when he was here? I don't think so.

Do you blame him for moving to a smaller club to get game time, something a player or his calliber deserves? You expected him to knuckle down and do a De Bruyne and wait for a chance that never came? Who ended up leaving in Jan having wasted a 5 months (?) of development.

I see why you guys are upset, but I'm sure he could be sorted out under the guidance of the best manager in the world.

(This may be inaccurate eds)

What is everyone mad at? And why wouldn't you take him?
Or in comparison, who would?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He didn't upset me, absolutely not. But apparently he did do something to upset some people at the club, of which we know nothing. Him moving on for the fee we got was probably the best thing for all involved and I couldn't be happier with how our strike force looks now.

I don't necessarily want him back. He's a good player but IMO not suited very well to our style of play. His touch still isn't good enough to play regularly for us.
I wouldn't mind having him back, but in all likelihood it won't happen and I don't care too much about that :)

{Ed002's Note - There is absolutely zero chance of Lukaku returning to Chelsea. I made it very clear to everyone more than a year ago that his Chelsea career was over and he would leave in the summer at the end of the loan. We can just drop this matter now. It is more than a year old news.}

Yes you did indeed

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, didn't want to insinuate that he could return in the future. Indeed you mentioned that plenty of times. I was just engaging in hypotheticals, that's all :)

Agree0 Disagree0

He's not even close to the standard at chelsea. After the game v Everton you could see in his face looking around at the great atmosphere created by the fans that he'd made a huge mistake leaving chelsea. We play one up top and he's not even close to being as good as costa. I would be happy to keep remy and bring bamford back from loan for next season. Bamford has scored goals everywhere he has been on loan so deserves a chance in the first squad as 3rd striker

Agree0 Disagree0

So you'd want us to have Costa and Bamford as our only 2 strikers NWBLUE?

Agree0 Disagree0

Fuser. Read the post: bamford as 3rd choice benefiting from being around first team squad allowing remy to be 2nd choice. Yes we would all like top quality squad players on the bench but that's not going to happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Except for the fact that Remy will be leaving at the end of the season NWBLUE?

As much as I want us to be in every competition, I think it will probably serve us well not to be playing this weekend. Going into tuesdays game we will be rested and i'm just hoping Costa has the benefit of being rested and not the rustiness of not playing.

Willian always was a more central player, in that he played there or on the left for his previous club. I hope we see him there more often. The problem with Oscar is he just seems to have been burned out the last few years, perhaps more rests will see him being more consistent.

Cuadrado was good and Ill be looking forward to seeing more.

Just following on from Pinkys post of de bruyne, I wonder why we don't get buy back clauses in the contracts of these players we see on. Ok some aren't good enough, but de bruyne never seemed to have a problem with the club, we just could give him the first team football he needed. I think I said before that I would have rather kept him a bit longer and sold Mata first but it just makes me think about buy back clauses. Real Madrid and Barcelona seem to do it all the time. Arsenal did it with Cesc, but I guess its just something to ponder over.
