Although Kante and Batshuayi are perhaps the only senior signings to arrive at Chelsea this summer, the Blues have in fact brought in six players, with youngsters Juan Familia-Castillo, Charlie Brown, Nya Kirby and Marcin Bulka also moving to Stamford Bridge.

I'm 100% convinced people that are suggesting we sell Cesc are judging him by his performances in Fifa games they play. The whole team underperformed last season but Cesc wasn't one of the worst. Ivanovic and Matic for me performed the worst, Costa's lack of goals towards the start of the season hurt us and Hazards refusal to play for Mourinho was instrumental. Oscar didn't impact one game, Pedro never got going and Courtois made too many mistakes. Don't get me started on Mourinho. Cesc won't be sold because thankfully the club know more about football than some on here. I agree with people being able to share their opinions without direct abuse but make your opinion an educated one.

Agreed mate. If you think back to the second half of last season I would go as far to say Cesc carried us and without him we'd have been even further down the table. He showed not only his class and ability but also his leadership qualities and I believe many on here were actually calling for him to be our next captain when it looked like JT was leaving. Cesc is still our best creator and without him we'd be a much worse team.

I'm a cesc fan, I just think we have a lot of players who need the team to be built around them for their game to click.

I have bit of an off track question but does anyone know if the club have an interest in Reece Oxford, Reece Burke or Matt Targett?

What with the club missing out on players such as Shaw, Stones and Patrick Roberts, I feel it is crucial for the club to get these talented young players in the near future before the Manchester Clubs or anyone else for that matter, come calling like we should have done with the players mentioned above.

Having a homegrown core is essential in my opinion and if we could get these young talents in soon for lower prices and supplement them with academy and promising loan players such as Christensen and Pasalic and the occasional big signing, it could prove to be a useful strategy going forward but I understand football is not ideal, especially nowadays.

Or we could just try and use our talented homegrown youngsters. Clarke-Salter, RLC/ Chalobah and either Solanke/ Abraham.

C'mon guys enough with the arguing and negativity. Everyone has the right to an opinion, just try and be respectful in how you deliver it. Let's try and keep this site productive!

Anyways how's everyone's tips looking so far? Mine are absolutely shot to pieces already haha!

Very interested to watch the two games today and of course Chelsea on Monday night.

Tips for the game? I'm thinking 3-1 Chelsea with a double to Hazard?

Aussie tout see arguing, I see banter, just the way it should be.

As for the game tomorrow 2-1 well just manage to come away with three points. Still think we need a couple of players in before the window shuts. Hoping for a good game.

I like reading different opinions between posters but there is no need for name calling! At the end of the day we're all on the same team supporting the club we love! I reckon we'll win 2-1 as well. Think we'll have too much for WH but they have some very good players and our defence is very shaky at the moment. A Chelsea win and both teams to score will also win me a very handy £6000 so wish me luck lads.

Ed,

It's now been the 2-3 days since KK's agent said it would be resolved. Do you know if there has been any further developments?

Believable0 Unbelievable6

14 Aug 2016 10:57:51
Further development is Maksimovic is pushing for a move to Napoli.

I've seen reports he's been offered a new deal with higher wages, looks like this ship has sailed.

Maksimovic appears to have thrown his toys out the pram and annoyed Mihaljovic a lot, which in turn could push through his Napoli move meaning Koulibaly joins us.

So people disagreed with fact again.

Agree2 Disagree11

14 Aug 2016 09:53:02
Why do you care so much what people think? Also, how is what you said a fact? He's 100% going to Napoli and Koulibaly 100% coming to us, because that's what a fact would be. To me it just sounds like speculation.

Agree11 Disagree2

14 Aug 2016 10:05:08
I just thought people would have better things to do than click disagree for the sake of it. And I think you will find it is fact that Mihaljovic is very angry at Maksimovic for refusing to play.

Agree1 Disagree11

14 Aug 2016 10:33:15
Don't you have better things to do then complain about people clicking a button? The hypocrisy is insane.

People are free to do as they please. I think you'll find most probably click disagree because they dislike a poster rather than a post. It's not surprising when most on this site change their tunes every 2 months. I see Fabregas is supposedly our best player again as one example of the ever changing views of the uneducated.

People haven't stopped using this page due to the trolls, its due to the vast amount of nonsense and the fact most posters haven't a clue what they're talking about. Its a shame as the Eds are awesome with their insight and we did once have a great little community on here who knew their stuff.

If you're going to post you have to realise people don't have to like you or what you say and you can't just become a little snowflake when it seems everyone either disagrees with your posts or is just sick of reading your dribble. Either that or realise you don't have to post.

Yeah I know what you mean, I've been watching this site since about 2012 but only posting the last, 2 months, it seems that people give an opinion, and it does get a bit personal, in the last few weeks I've been called, a wind up, a pessimist, and negative, just for saying we have been shite for 18 months, it's going to be a 2 horse race between the Manchester clubs, we need 3/ 4 new players to win the league, and about 6/ 7 to catch Barcelona, Madrid, Bayern, I think I'm just giving an honest opinion, I'm don't have blind faith, I watch us play then give my view, take fabreagas for example if he was playing for, Bayern, Madrid, Barcelona, or psg he would be classed as 1 of the best cm in the world, yesterday man city had 77 % possesion imagine cesc popping balls around in that team he would be awesome, it s our defensive counter attack style that doesn't suit cesc, not cesc not suiting us, we all new the player he was before we signed him that's what I don't understand, to put it simple you wouldn't take a Ferrari f-50 on a off road dirt track, you'd take a 4x4, I feel sorry for him he will be used as a scape goat.

14 Aug 2016 11:11:21
While that may be the case mate, and its certainly why I don't really bother posting on the pages anymore, the site generates cash by page views so I'd recommend you at the very least continue checking the pages. Some days you'll find info, some days you won't but those behind the scenes most certainly deserve some success.

The internet is filled with sad people living sad lives. Don't let them win. The weak thrive off making others feel weak and hopeless. Enjoy the real world buddy and don't stress about the faceless losers who will never know love.

Everyone is aloud to have an opinion weather you like it or not it's still there opinion if you don't like it don't read it stroll down. To many people on here that because others have been on here for along time think it stupid for other people to have an opinion and even worse when they don't like it start conversations like this one it's someone's opinion that's it because you don't like it doesn't mean we know any less about football than you.

Cat you just proved my point about the majority of posters on this page. If Cesc is such a world beater why did Barcelona bite our hands off when we put an offer in?

Let's see how you feel about him in December. Bloke is hopeless with positioning and never puts in a shift. Being able to ping the ball around and play pretty passes means nothing when that's the only skill you have.

He did play for Barcelona and they forced him out and he barely got a start, so saying if he played for them he would be considered one of the best in the world is a complete joke. Its not even opinion. It's been proven false. You might like to believe you're different and don't have the blinkers on but you're just as ignorant as the others mate.

Agree0 Disagree12

14 Aug 2016 13:53:50
Forcing someone out is a matter of perspective, I always thought he played well for Arsenal, well for Barcelona under pep, I think he's 1 of Spain's better players atm, was immense first 6 months at Chelsea, could quite possibly go down as the most assists in prem history, I think he's about 30-40 away from the record, I don't think average players end up with the most assists Ever, if he does go on to, I just think he doesn't suit Chelsea style, I don't think he's a bad player, it would be exactly the same if we would have bought inesta and played him in a 2 man midfield with counter attacking style, we would say inesta don't get around the pitch, he can't tackle blah blah blah, these are technically gifted players who rely on speed of thought, vision technique, touch, if used in the right system cesc is world class, most teams would build a team around players like him, we don't we ask him to do a job he can't do then moan about it, years ago you would just have a number 8 box to box all rounder, who would need to tackle, score, assist, and get around the pitch, now days it's more specialist positions, defensive midfield, deep playmaker, number 10, we all have different opinions on cesc, I struggle to find many Better creative midfielders in the world, not saying he is the best but he's got to be too 10 / 15 in his position in the world, just play to his strength, let him just pass, assist, create, I can't see why Chelsea signed him, if they don't play to his strengths,

Nibby I don't generally post mate so I'm not to fussed about what others think. I'm not sure what my fondness on atmospherical conditions has to do with anything though.

It's always fun seeing people make the 'everyone is allowed an opinion' rant while saying it doesn't make theirs any more or less correct. It's not that what you've said isn't true, its that if you truly believed it their would be no need to take offence at what I've said or point out everyone can have their own say. I have never said anything to the contrary. Its just puzzling the lack of consistenting in the world today, this page being a microcasm of that.

At the end of the day this is a page for Chelsea fans, and we all want to see the club succeed. It was most likely a waste of time speaking on anything that isn't strictly to do with football. Enjoy the season boys and keep up the great work eds.

I agree with you on this point Cat as I think you present an argument that's closer to the truth than Melbourne. Imo among the primary reason Cesc was sold was because Barcelona wanted more scoring from the more forward position they played him and they had many great passers which is why the went on to bring in both Neymar and Suarez. That's like saying we sold Mata because he was not good enough, just a different manager wanting something different at the position.

That's actually my main point of contention with our club where there seems to have been some disconnect the last 5 seasons or so between the type of football Roman wanted for his club, the type of players we bought and the managers we hired to implement that style. Imo we never gave it a fair shot because those 3 factors never aligned. And I think we'll look back in a few years and realize that bringing Jose back, even with the title we won, changed the course of our team for the worse.

Agree8 Disagree0

14 Aug 2016 15:00:32
Yeah basically blue lab, we don't have a football identity, we don't have a style of play, we just sign managers who all got there own ideas / styles, philosophy, and the players have to adapt, some teams have an identity and only sign managers / coaches with the Same style / philosophy,

I'm not saying he is rubbish at the sport. He has won almost everything and come through the golden age for Spainish football. Barcelona bought him in the first place and he captained Arsenal from a fairly young age. He is a good player but he isn't one of the best in the world. He needs protection and without it he is a luxury not worth having.

As you said he was great the first 6 months, then what? Poor for 18 months and alright for the past 6? He was the same at Barcelona and typically throughtout his career he faded every season and would go missing. I really think he cost us as much as anyone last year with his complete lack of effort for the badge. He would get glided past every match when we lost possession and gave away too many stupid freekicks with his complete lack of tackling ability. He got lazy in Spain from playing against teams who have given up before the game starts.

For me, he bailed ship on Arsenal (where he was captain) when his manager stopped spending, returned to his boyhood club to play second string, obviously too an amazing bunch of players and he won medals. He then leaves that club (whether forced out or not) to join us after saying he loved Arsenal and would never play for another team in England (let alone a rival) and he only forced a move because he wanted to returh home so badly to play at his boyhood club. That to me speaks volumes about the bloke and goes to explaining why he doesn't put a shift in.

He has ability on the ball and obviously has played in some amazing teams and can pick a belting pass at times, he just isn't as good as you've claimed.

Also I see further up its said enough with the arguing. This isn't arguing and I hope Cat doesn't take it as such. Its points of views being discussed. The whole point of this thread is for everyone to stop taking everything in life so bloody personally. Its a website, an incredible one but if you lot are getting properly emotional about words on a screen you need to give your heads a firm wobble.

14 Aug 2016 16:28:42
Yh I don't see it as arguing, we're all on the same team, and nobody will make me change my views, football is great you could put 5 blokes in a room watching the same game, and could all have different man of the matches, it's very hard to be wrong with a football opinion, it's like having a favourite food or colour, although I do think people should respect other people's opinions Melbourne as you've called me as ignorant as the others, for thinking fabreagas is a good player, I think it's easy to lurke in the shadows then every few months pop up and slag people's options off, # bigot lol.

Well done Cat. You're absolutely entitled to have your own opinion. Tolerance is something that make people different and shows their level of civilized personality. Arrogant and primitive people think that are entitled to give everyone a lesson by trying to force their opinion even calling on some kind of lynch with who's opinion they disagree, or simply they don't like certain poster no matter what that person posts.

Agree3 Disagree0

14 Aug 2016 18:31:40
Hold on princess. You can't say everyone is entitled to an opinion and get upset that mine isn't the same as yours. If you accept everyone is allowed an opinion, you're by definition accepting that its ok if it's not the same as the opinion you have.

How am I a bigot? I called you ignorant because what you said was ignorant. You said if Fabregas played at a team like Bayern, PSG or Barcelona he would be top 5-10 in his position in the world. He played at Barcelona and he wasn't considered good enough to stay. The best 5-10 players in the world DON'T have a cavaet in that title stating - only if his teammates are protecting him. The best cms in the world aren't positionly reckless and lazy. Saying as much is ignorant. If you need me too I CAN add a cavaet - in my opinion. Saying you're ignorant doesn't mean I think I have more of a right to be here than you. Quite the opposite. The fact most posters like you are ignorant is the reason I rarely pop up. It doesn't mean I hate you or wish you ill will, or that I'm a bigot . But if you're going to call CFC a flower then get upset by someone else calling you ignorant, while preaching everyone should respect eachothers opinions, you might want too try for 2-3 head wobbles mate.

The fact it says Melbourne CFC at the bottom of the post, antibot, should be a clear indication that unlike yourself I see it pointless to state the fact that this is my opinion every time I say something that's in your opinion controversial. I'm not forcing my opinion on anyone, read it or don't, I don't care.
