Avb needs to wake up and realize that Chelsea need wingers. If u saw man u second goal was made from a top winger like young who can beat a man which Chelsea dont have in malouda and kalou etc avb come buy some top quality wingers and a creative midfielder or were gonna see the title go back to old trafford

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I think AVB has i do remember him saying exactly that just before the stoke game

For those who worship Malouda and Kalou even after today match, here is a page content as published on a Web Site:

"The Spaniard, who sustained a knock to the head this week, was surprisingly picked ahead of Drogba in a game not for the faint hearted, but he looked much sharper than he did in his awkward first few months at the club last year, and held the ball up well while showing flashes of pace that had Stoke's backline scrambling, especially causing Shawcross plenty of trouble. Showed the touch of the 2009 Torres and surely it's only a matter of time before his finishing is as refined as it used to be. Had he been given better support from his team-mates, he might well have scored."

Please focus on the last sentence and evaluate the level of forwards we have, at lease for today match.. {Ed002's Note - As we just said, go support a more sucessful team. Perhaps Manchester City is more in line for you are your friends.}

Ed, it's not just him saying this though is it, we all want the best for Chelsea football club. As fans we are all concerned about the same areas, its no coincidence that we are all talking about the same players all the time. Nor does it mean we want to go and support a different club, especially City We are just frustrated with the lack of acknowledgement regarding the wide areas and the central areas. If you would have watched the game yesterday you would understand, Torres by far our best player. And that was with no goals and no support. Think that says it all.

Agree0 Disagree0

How can u say go support another team, its the truth would eithe florent or soloman start at the manchester clubs? NO so why should they be at chelsea when we could pay hazard and mata their wages

After watching kalou's and malouda's performance against stoke, if they remain in the team after 31st of August, then i am sorry to say that cfc will loose at least one fan,me. It might sound a harsh based on one match only, but it was really heartbreaking to see them bring down the level of the whole team and i dont think I would be able to bear another match where cfc play as did in the first half, without any sort of creativity or threat to opposition. We seriously need players like hazard, mata & di maria. Even Downing would have been better than the present twoSo please AVB, if you want to remain in job this time around next year, bring in at least a creative midfielder and two decent wingers. that is all we as fans ask...

After todays match i thought Torres looked very sharp just once again our midfield didnt create any chances or enough balls to run onto for him Also Bosingwa was impressive for me at RB i am a critic of his but he looked back to his best especially attacking raw pace. I am not a fan of Mikel's at all but i thought even he played well. Hope we get Modric and Mata would really add to our team.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I agree I thought that all three of those players were impressive especially Torres he looks confident n how he was in Liverpool in his first few seasons

Chelsea vs stoke every one played well but kalou and malouda

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Agreed. First half took us a while to settle and get playing, second half we got the ball down and deserved the 3 points. Kalou and Malouda come off, and magically the ball is sped up and passes stop going astray.. weird. Really impressed by Bosingwa, Ramires, Torres and even Mikel. Hopefully a few new additions (as every continues to mention) will really get us on our way.

Why is Sturridge not starting ahead of Kalou today? If thats not surprising enough he isnt even on the flipping BENCH Our best player pre season, im baffled.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sturridge is suspended

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats cause he's bloody suspended on a 3 match ban, seeing as he got a red card at bolton at the very last game, relax

Agree0 Disagree0

Sturridge is suspend

Agree0 Disagree0

Because he banned

Agree0 Disagree0

He's banned until the end of august

Agree0 Disagree0

Baffled by a suspension....

Agree0 Disagree0

Serving a 3 match ban

Agree0 Disagree0

Really?
He's banned for 3 games

Agree0 Disagree0

Sturridge is serving a three match ban after he picked a straight redcard during the last match of bolton last season. bolton fc dint appeal for the ban and that means he will miss two more games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Banned

Agree0 Disagree0

I may as well add to this.

BECAUSE HE'S BANNED grrrrrrr......

Agree0 Disagree0

Where is the need to repeat yourselves so many times?

***ATTACK***
It is clear to me, like it or not, that AVB and indeed Chelsea FC as a whole see the Modric signing as a priority; he is obviously, with good justification, happy with Sturridge playing on the right of the attack and, with less justification, happy with Malouda on the left of the attack.
I genuinely believe the Modric deal will go through, and would hope this will happen in the next week or so. I think Kalou will stay but will have to settle with a role ‘backing up’ Sturridge. Torres, Drogba and Lukaku will all vie for the central strikers role and Anelka will move on; that leaves the left side of the attack
AVB has been recorded as stating players will only be brought in to replace players who have exited the club, Zhirkov therefore will be replaced. Malouda seems very intent on remaining at the club, but he will have serious challengers for a starting position. Kakuta really will have no excuses if this isn’t his ‘break through year’, you can only rely on potential for so long and then you have to deliver. Whether this is his break through year at the bridge or out on loan remains to be seen. From a personal point of view I believe Chelsea have remained interested in Mata all summer and as soon as the Modric deal is sorted we will focus on bringing him to the bridge.
That would leave a front four (attacking midfielder included) of…
(AM) Modric
(RF) Sturridge
(LF) Mata
(CF) Torres
I’d personally be very happy with that, potentially creative and potent attacking force, with reasonable, to say the least, players players backing them up.

***MIDFIELD***
Lampard WILL start, yes he is getting on a bit now, yes he doesn’t have much pace; but yes he is still our best central midfield player and yes he will still score goals. When fit, and if he remains fit Essien will obviously partner Lampard in the middle of the park, until then Ramires will complete the first choice midfield partnership. Josh McEachran and Oriol Romeu supply a youthful and very talented backup in the midfield; McEachran being the heir apparent to Lampard.
Obi Mikel, in my opinion, may be sold on.
So the midfield pairing would be…
(CM) Ramires
(CM) Lampard
Once again I’m very happy with that and with the aforementioned youthful backup there is no need to worry about the state of our midfield pairing; one more player may be useful though

***DEFENCE***
There are a couple of ifs, buts and maybes when thinking about our defence; these being will Alex remain at the club and will Slobodan Rajkovic get a work permit? I think Alex will leave, Juventus looking like the club in question and hope Slobodan Rajkovic will get his work permit, then there will be no changes. I believe both points rely on the other; i.e. Alex will not be sold if Slobodan Rajkovic doesn’t get a work permit. Despite all of this David Luiz and John Terry will start in the centre defence, Ivanovic will start at right back and Ashley Cole will start at left back. One of the aforementioned players will backup the centre back pair, and Ivanovic can obviously provide backup here too. Bosingwa will back up Ivanovic at right back and Van Aanholt will back up Cole at left back.
So the back four will be…
(RB) Ivanovic
(LB) Cole
(CB) Terry
(CB) David Luiz
More than happy with that; and happy with the backup too.

***GOALKEEPERS***
Very, very simple this…
(GK) Cech
I really don’t have to say anything else

Obviously Mata and Modric haven’t signed yet but is there really that much for us to worry about? Our squad is looking fine

Good news people, Villas Boas told SkySports that he is going to bring in atleast 2 new players, and the priority is going to be 'a creative midfielder and a winger, but not neccessarily modric'.... took a while to figure that out didn't he?

AVB has said samir nasri is one of the most exciting player in the pl. hopefully we get him and modric then are squad will be much stronger. what do you think people

Believable1 Unbelievable1

We wont get Nasri, he'll go City probably. If not, he'll just rot out Arsenal's midfield for another season like Fabregas, picking up 'injuries' on the way before moving on when they're trophyless again. But yes, both players would definitely strengthen our squad.. shame it wont happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

And how do you no he will go City or stay put? Because the media says so I have a feeling we may gt Nasri, especially after hearing what AVB thinks of him personally, not forgetting the enquiry Chelsea made about his availabilty earlier in the window aswell. So sit tight you never no whats going to happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree there could be many twists and turns.. I just see him as City bound or staying at Arsenal; I have since his 'saga' began. City will offer more money and a better deal, which suits both Arsenal and Nasri. That's the reason why. I know the media will say what they want to fill pages, so I take whatever I read with a pinch of salt.
