Just interested, does anyone know if we'll be wearing the new kit this year for the final game on Sunday?

AK

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We normally do wear it for at least the last game so I expect to see it.

What we learnt:
A) Charley Musonda and Jeremie Boga are two of the best young players in the world and should be nurtured carefully because they can be world stars as they showed tonight. Miso the should be getting more opportunities.
B)Issy Feruz is clearly a talented player but he can have off-days which is to be expected of a young striker but the important thing will be how he recovers from those off-days because frankly his finishing all night was terrible and Torres-esque.
C) Mitchell Beeney is not good enough to be a Chelsea keeper, not confident enough and too many mistakes.
D) Alex Davey needs a confidence booster, last several games he has looked broken and conceded two key (albeit one very controversial) penalties in that cup final.
E) Alex Kiwonbya, John Swift, Loftus-Cheek, Lewis Baker and Alex Davey all need to work on elements of their game but all have potential to be good players in the future.
F) Our defence needs to organise itself more, missed the authority of Ake and Blackman a lot this season.
G) Some youth teams (Norwich, Barnsley etc) are not going to play passing football against us and will instead focus on the long ball. Although this is ugly and unattractive we must learn to defend against it better.
H) The Murphy twins and William Britt are all three very good young players and are possible stars for the future and don't deserve to have to play in such a negative team.
I) Diving is now present in the youth game as displayed tonight.
J) Our youth team can play bright and attractive passing football but at times we overplay.
K) Our youth team also need to be more clinical when finishing.
M) Finally judging on what I have seen of the youth team I think we should start promoting Lewis Baker, Issy Feruz, Alex Kiwombya and Jeremie Boga during the next one/one and a half/two years (perhaps also Musonda and Aina). Everyone else still has a lot of work to reach the standard of a Chelsea player and whilst some of them probably will make it, I can safely say some will not.

Out of all the players I've seen all season Loftus is the most complete and ready. I've watched probably 15 games involving the next gen and youth cup and he has been exceptional, his ability and control is way beyond his years.
Boga is also an exceptional talent, he and Loftus should be on our summer tour this year.

Islam is very good at this level but his physical attributes will let him down at the final level and for someone who is a great finisher he is far to inconsistent.

Conor Hunte looks like he could be a bright talent as does C Musonda. Niel Black and Emanelo deserve credit for putting together such a great set up and having the boys continuously reach finals in recent years.

Agree0 Disagree0

*Musonda: instead of Miso the.
EH17

Agree0 Disagree0

I have been really impressed with Baker, I think he deserves a place on the tour and some time with the first team. His passing is good, he is clearly very determined and driven and he has a decent shot, all be it a bit inconsistent.

Feruz has really disappointed me recently, his finishing in both games against Norwich was very poor, and his work rate is low, I don't think I saw him touch the ball unless it was to shoot.

I always expect a lot from Loftus-Cheek, he has never quite lived up to my expectation. He clearly has talent but sometimes his passing is not crisp enough and he doesn't have the same determination as Baker does. Physically though he is head and shoulders above the rest.

Can't believe that this is what Norwich teach their youth team. Pump it long to the wingers and win a set piece. Methinks Norwich should be renamed Stoke 2. 0 if they want to play to like that. And someone please explain why we didn't start Musonda? Been one of the standout players in this second half.

Hi ed would u agree with me that its almost certain that Jose will be back at the bridge now Real Madrid have made an approach for Carlo. Cheers doing a great job {Ed018's Note - i agree with you and hope it happens}

With report of De Bruyne agreeing terms with BVB, we'll probably get first option on Reus or Lewandowski.

PSG reject Real Madrid approach for Carlo Ancelotti

Another one of ed002 tellings that real wanted him

Hopefully this means Mourinho to Chelsea now! :)

I feel so sorry for our youngsters tonight, playing bright attractive football with possession, passing and patient build up then conceding due to a team pumping the ball long to a lacy winger who takes on his man to win a corner and then play for set pieces or dubious penalties. Such an ugly way to teach a youth team to play, no wonder the quality of our national team is worse than most if we grow our youngsters up on a pump-it-long mentality. Not over yet though, confident we will score at least one more goal because our attack is top class.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Exactly, Agree 100%, Teaching Your Youth To Dive and Then Celebrate When Being Awarded a Pathetic Penalty is Shocking, Feel Sorry For Our Lads

JMJW

Agree0 Disagree0

Disagree I don't think half of this team is anything compared to mceachran, Kakuta, Kane of couple years ago, nano where near.

Agree0 Disagree0

Our youth teams attack is shocking! They remind me of Arsenal at their worst, they literally won't shoot! They're all too bothered about doing tricks. There is no point playing fancy football when there is no end product.

Chelsea Nick

Agree0 Disagree0

For god's sake forget about mceachran, he is not good enough.

Ed what striker do you think chelsea should sign? I would love cavani but don't think it is going to happen. {Ed018's Note - I've wanted Falcao for a while but that doesn't look like that will happen now. I'd like Lewandowski now}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Do you think there's a good chance we could sign Cavani or Lewandowski Ed? I'd prefer Lewandowski

CfcBenWxm {Ed018's Note -chelsea may look at Lewandowski again, I don't know about Cavani}

Agree0 Disagree0

Both would be best, getting rid of ba and torres. (Unlikely! ). Dream transfers would be cavani, isco and a cb or dm depending on where luiz plays next season.

Hey ed, I remember you saying that you've lived in monaco before. How big are they on football? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what "how big are they on football" means. The very cute stadium holds about 15,000 or so.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15000, how bad for a team signing everyone under the sun. {Ed002's Note - I don't understand the arrogance that sees that as a problem.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Great place to live and no Taxes. A lot of footballers would be interested.

I don't know why it just popped into my head, but the problem with hazard not playing in the europa leagyue final is not his personal skill and talent we'll miss, but the game is played at such a higher tempo compared to when he doesn't play.

just a thought in my head I wanted to post.

I'm hoping the only reason falcao deal is not confirmed I'd because Chelsea are trying to sneak in and sort something out. With all these too strikers likely to go to certain clubs except Chelsea I think we will struggle to get 25 goal a season striker. , not keen on shurrle either. Hoping de bruyne is not on loan next season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Torres has scored 22 goals this season. difference of 3.

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres has probably started in 30% more games than falcao.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think he meant 25 in the league.

Jordan

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I ment 25 in the league, thought that'd be obvious.

So Falcao to Monaco, Lewandowski to Munich, Cavani to Madrid. who is left out of Chelseas targets?
Are we considering any of Jovetic, Rooney, Damiao, Higuain?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Carroll?

Puzzled

Agree0 Disagree0

LOL I'd pay not to have Carroll. Jovetic to Arsenal. Rooney to PSG/Monaco/stay. Damiao to Tottenham. Higuain to PSG.

Michael Owen? Proitos

13 May 2013 11:02:21
Looks like Falcao is on his way to A. S Monaco.

These strikers are our possible targets and down below the one (s) I think we should sign:

Possible:

-Cavani
-Rooney
-Benteke
-Schurlle
-Lewandowski

Sign:

-Schurlle
-Lewandowski (best value for money and out and out striker)

Bring back Lukaku from loan and let go of Torres.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Id have Benteke, he's from Belgium so fits in well with the squad, wouldn't cost as much as Cavani or Rooney and has proven himself in the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Same, a rotation of Benteke and Lukaku would be beast, maybe even the two of them together, they are both powerful, fast and proven EPL goal scorers plus they are both Belgium so would fit perfectly with Hazard

Agree0 Disagree0

Benteke and lukaku up front now there's a strike force to be scared of in next few years

Hi Liverpool fan in peace.
congratz for the CL qualify. since alex retired its going to be huge pressure for moyes. the first few games would be killer. let's ripp them out of top 4.
no extra time. no FA to support. No british media. No mind games. and no Howard webb.

have seen chelsea looking for a striker or two.
andn people are behind cavani and falcao.
what about lewondaski or jackson amrtinez.

if jose comes to bridge its going to be 4-2-3-1 with the out and out CF uo front.
lewondaski is supreme talent.
If I would have money, I would have bought myself to liverpool, If he ends up in UTD, might they would leak some goals. but they would hit 100 goals next season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Pah! Liverpool are a midtable club now. You certainly won't be ripping anyone out of the top 4!

Agree0 Disagree0

United will win the league again. That is just the way they are set up. The only hope is moyes does not get any money to spend this summer.

Canal+, AS, The Times, Sky Italia, and La Saxta all confirming/stating Radamel Falcao to Monaco. Announcement will apparently be made after the Copa del Ray final - they can't all be wrong, can they?

This would be a blessing in disguise for Chelsea!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 May 2013 10:16:37
A blessing in disguise indeed. 60m Euros and 295k per week is ludicrous! I'm for Lukaku to come back. He can't do any worse than Torres. If we can't get Lewandowski, then go for Benteke. Lukaku and Benteke are young and will be worldclass in a couple of years.

Agree0 Disagree0

Demba Ba has been worse for Chelsea, so I don't know why you need to bring up Torres.

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres has been the worst signing in the clubs history, on a par with Winston Bogerde, Yossi Benayoun oh and Robert Fleck Ha Ha!

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't forget mutu and kezman

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres the worst signing, not by a long shot. Last year he did not score that many goals but had crucial assists. This season he has scored goals and has had decent assists. You must not be a Chelsea fan as you have forgotten Shevchenko, another great striker who did not click for us. Torres is not the same player he once was, but he has atleast tried (a quality much appreciated). Although he has not delivered what was expected of him, he has been decent this season with his on field play.

To all the people talking about signing Rooney, you must either be 12yrs old or just simple minded, Chelsea are not a club who would seriously want him, its just paper talk you sound as stupid and Manchester United Fans thinking they had a chance of getting Jose as Manager.
Think about it for a minute.

Hi ed

I heard on the grapevine that Chelsea will be buying Wayne Rooney for 28 mil any comments?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If his wages wouldn't be extremely high, I'd actually be happy with that. Strong, skilled, can finish and can create chances for others

Franco

Agree0 Disagree0

He'd probably want similar wages to what he's currently on. 250k.

Hi Ed002, Can You confirm when Chelsea will confirm the new manager? Also if We miss out on an elite level Striker (Cavani, Lewandowski, Cavani) how big a set back will that be?

Thanks in advance {Ed002's Note - No, and I have no way of measuring the impact of not signing any random players.}
