sturridge---lampard----mata--
------------drogba--------------

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Cech, 4 iva cahill terry cole, 3 essien lamps rammy 1 mata behind 2 torres & drogs

Agree2 Disagree1

------------Cech------------
Luiz---Cahill---Terry---Cole
------Essien---Romeu------
Ramires---Mata---Lampard
---------Sturridge----------
RDM has shown he will put Luiz at RB and if Sturridge needs help up front just pull Romeu and put on Drogba and play 4-3-3. I don't expect this, but would be nice to see something new.

The win for Arsenal is good for us as it will put more pressure on Spurs and handling pressure is a thing at which they are not very good at.A win against Napoli win go a long way in restoring belief and confidence within the team.We have to ensure that we do not lose in the remaining matches.I reckon we will finish 3rd in the league. We have to keep a clean sheet tomorrow , I would prefer Terry and
Cahill at the center of the defense.
Predicted scoreline:Chelsea 3 Napoli 0

Keep hearing whispers that the club's hierachy are planning a mass player sale in the summer, suggesting the blame for the poor form lies with the old guard. Led to believe they are wanting to revamp thier squad on mass. Any truth?

Cech
Ivanovic terry Cahill cole
Luiz
Ramirez Lampard

Sturridge Mata
Torres

BRADLEY

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Sturridge has been playing poorly recently and terry is out of position, though i do hope luiz plays in the defensive midfield role, my only concern would be if he attacks too much, leaving space in behind.

I think the difference may be RVP if he gets injured arsenal will score very few points between now and the end of the season, if he doesn't then who knows what will happen!

Melbourne, I believe that your Chelsea run in adds up to 22, not 24!! Looool

Melbourne, i suspect we're one and the same pal, similiar outcomes i hope we're right, its got to be close surely, all 3 got winnable home games and drawable/losable away games, glad a few regulars are still active on the forum

I agree that Mourinho would be the best choice for the next manager, but if we couldn't get him, what about David Moyes? He's got great PL experience and he can use money very wisely. I think Di Matteo can stay in charge until the summer.

Any thoughts on that?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

What has he achieved in the game? no experience dealing with top players or working with a big budget, his teams dont start playing til half way through the season, would the top world players want to sign for Moyes? just no, it isnt going to happen, would be another Hodgson at Liverpool,

SHED END

Agree2 Disagree0

Voted Manager of the Year three times

reached one FA cup final (lost to chelsea)

something like all but 2 years finished in top 10 and when joined they were near bottom

got 4th in league when the top 4 was basically unbreakable, and with the small budget and modest players everton had

i think if we don't go for him one of the other top clubs will probably get him over the next few years. he's definitely a good manager, won over everton's dressing room when joined at 38 from preston.. unlike avb could at chels when joined from porto..

Agree2 Disagree0

Liking your own post wont get you any credibility, all you've said is perfectly valid if we're talking in terms of the next villa/liverpool/sunderland/newcastle manager, is he the man too take Chelsea forward, is a definite no mate so lets just leave it, it wont happen anyway if there was such thing as a shortlist i bet Moyes isnt in the top 20

SHED END

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's more likely he'll be next Manchester United boss because of his relationship with Ferguson.

I agree with Shed End good manager but not for Chelsea

No one would like Mourinho back on the blues bench than me, but lets admit it he has a team of older players that he built and will prefer to have them starting games (cech , terry , cole , essien , lampard , drogba). We need new faces to win trophies.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

*more than me

Agree1 Disagree0

And why do you think he would have a problem building a new team? If, and that is a big hypothetical if, we have some sort of tentative agreement with his reps of joining over the summer, what would stop him drawing a list of players to share with the front office?

Look DD contract expires come june 30th. That is one down. He surely can get the best out of Terry and Lamps and Cole for at least a year and believe me, if Jose benches either one - noone will go public with their stuff. Cech - well, he has the same problem which is hardly curable. Eversince the Hunt accident he is very unconvincing dealing with set pieces and is one of the best from open play. Don't forget that when our defenders do their job properly Big Pete looks very solid.

Of course this is just part of my wishful thinking and can't say that any part of this is likely to materialize, but one thing for sure is - these comings over to London are one of the two - he is either seeking more out of Madrid (more power, bigger contract, bigger budget, whatever), or by saying he will extend with Madrid he is forcing Chelsea's hand to commit under his terms.

I honestly believe all of our ten remaining Premiership games are all bigger than Wednesdays game against Napoli, I do however believe we can salvage the tie...

The most important thing is that we don't go out and out attack as Cavani, Lavezzi, Hamsik and co will kill us on the counter attack! Both our defence and deffensive midfielder need to play in an extremely disciplined manor, try and have faith in the players in front of them to win the game!

I'd also start Drogba, this is the sort of game he can really get fired up for; we may, rarely, see the the old Drogba back!

Here s how I would like the team to line up...

***********Cech**********

Sturridge**************Mata

Ivanovic***Luiz**Terry***Cole

******Essien***Lampard****

Ramires***************Mata

*****Sturridge**Drogba*****

I'd prefer a 4-4-2 ,, Ramirez is great on the right and we need to have sturridge beside drogba to break through their three man defense. Essien and Lampard will be more commited to defence all game, with mata and ramirez flying on the flanks.

Agree1 Disagree1

I still prefer diamond. And would like to have Terry and Cahill at the heart and Luiz at right back. If not, lets just play 4-3-3 with Essien, Ramires, Lamps, Mata, Drogs and Sturridge.

Their defence is very vulnerable. The back three is slow and i wouldn't be going with the fancy stuff at them. Lets do it oldfashioned. We'll be outnumbered in the midfield, thet will at the back. Long ball to Drogs, he holds it for onrushers better than anyone.

JG

Agree1 Disagree1

4-3-1-2 mata behind Torres and drogba

Agree3 Disagree1

So JG you mean Drogba is better than anyone else at holding the ball up then either kicking it 50 yards out of play or getting touched and falling over? If that's what you meant then i agree completely!

Listen, Drogba has done some great things for Chelsea and scored goals when we need them occasionally but he just isn't reliable. I call him one-in-six because that's how often he has a good game. I'd very much like to see RDM try Drogba & Torres with Mata behind and if that doesn't work bring one of the strikers off and throw Luiz up front for a crack! What's the worst that could happen?

RC

Agree2 Disagree0

Totally agree with the Luiz thing, just saying.
