Why chelsea don't interested in bruno fernandes? His stats of goals n assist per season are staggering.

It even got me thinking that a thought came like is Frank afraid that Fernandes could break his records for us? Lol. Seriously it goes to confirm that I don't really know anything about transfers and how a club is rub otherwise he looks like what we need.

His numbers are impressive in a much worse league, and include penalties and free kicks.

Well, other players have come from the Portuguese league and done pretty well. Honestly, as a non-Englishman, it can sometimes be overwhelming how often some - not necessarily you RJ28P, just in general - seem to undervalue other leagues. Obviously there's a difference between the English and Portuguese league, but there are some very good teams and players in Portugal as well :)

I agree to an extent Emil, but having watched quite a bit of the matches in Portugal over the past 3 years, it is Porto, Benfica, Sporting and the rest. Bruno Fernandes wouldn't get anywhere near the sort of numbers in a team like Rio Ave or Boavista for example. I'd also be concerned about how much he struggled for form in Italy and apparently got homesick very quickly.

You're probably right RJ28P, and once again, it was in no way meant as anything directed towards you - sometimes I just think it can be a bit tiring listening to people putting too little value in other leagues!

What little I've seen of Bruno F he seems to have a wonderful skills set, not least an ability/ the tricks to slide past opposition player or two before putting in decisive pass.

With Goal reporting that United is negotiating 50mil for BF, I think he will be a steal for them. In a skewed transfer market these days, that sum is not too much for his qualities and I'm really disappointed we are not in the race for his signature. Maybe there's more to it than I thought though.

Perhaps the reported asking price of near to 100m had something to do with us passing!
