wednesday was a prime example of what i've been saying for ages, our CM's are so bad its unreal. Mikel, Lampard, and Ramires can't pass the ball or face up against a defender and dribble past them to save their lives. JT completed nearly 90 passes yesterday. Its because we are unable to move the ball forward because the technical ability of our midfielders is so poor. Look at united, Carrick, Giggs, Cleverly all pass the ball quicly and move it forward. Arsenal, Wilshere, ramsey, arteta, can all play good forward balls and can run past defenders. Man City, Toure and Fernandinho drive city forward because they are able to keep the ball under pressure. Liverpool, Gerrard. Tottenham, Dembele. The reason our strikers don't score is because our midfielders don't play quick enough to open up space for strikers to work in. People think signing Falcoa, Cavani, Martinez would solve our problem. None of those guys, including lukaku will be able to score goals if we aren't able to pass the ball through Stuela Bucharest or some other rubbish team. We need to buy gundogen or someone similar. I come on here and say ravel morrison is just the player we need and someone said I need to get my head checked. Morrison is literally exactly what we need, a deep lying playmaker with pace and can dribble past people. I don't like posting on here because most of the people on here don't know anything about football and just ask "are we interested in Matic?" nine thousand times. Matic isn't even really the type of player we need. He does the same thing mikel does, but he can shoot and defend better. we need someone like toure, modric, kroos, dembele who can keep the ball under pressure and control the tempo of a game. It such a glaring issue, I don't get how mourinho can keep fielding lampard, ramires and mikel, they are so bad, ramires is only in the team for athleticism and the others waste space. Play oscar, luiz, de bruyne in the mean time FFS.

Am I missing something but since when did Ravel Morrison become a deep lying play maker and even if he doesn't cut it. I'm not also a huge fan of the matic idea i'm more of a Pogba, Gundogan or burst parade we need one of those two. And then Barkley ( lord please let's get him) coming in to replace lamps.

Cleverly and his passing have been diabolical this year and UTDs problem is why they are where they are In league. Ramires can't dribble
Last people,,,? Always breaks from deep and goes past players it's his passing and sometimes shooting that let's him down., We need 3 players and. CM CB and a prolific goal scorer. CB I'd promote a younger player and let them step up. Midfielder there are many options and stiker. Well we missed out on cavani and falcao and Martinez Rooney so dunno where we will go with that

David luiz is not a DFm or a DCM even jose knw that, we need someone like yaya, strong on the ball, great passing skills, skillful, and a eye for a goal

Luiz has all of those attributes that you listed though.

There are a lot of people who seem to think that David Luiz could be the answer to our DCM problem.

Whilst I agree that he may well be a better fit in the centre of midfield, rather than in the centre of defence, I do not believe that he is the DCM that we are yearning for.

From my personal perspective we need a disciplined, no nonsense, holding midfielder to play alongside the box-to-box abilities of Ramires. A midfielder who recognises, and thrives, under his need to a) win the ball back and b) distribute it in a simple and effective manor (ala Makalele). David Luiz is almost too cultured and is certainly not disciplined enough to fill this void. His ability to hit a raking 50yrd pass can't be denied but when it comes to a simple 10yrd pass he is often lazy and gives possession away (ala Mikel). This happened twice against Steaua Bucharest, two situations from which we may have been punished against better opposition.

Totally agree we need a lad like Yaya toure in place of mikel

Hi Geezer, its easy to say we need someone like Toure or like messi. but there not so many like him and if available the big teams don't want to release them.I think in the meantime Luiz can play that role as we develop our own prospect internally. Roy Keane Left united but they managed to get solution internally or with average signings (may be no one else was like Kean) Its not always about buying and that's what make a special manager not the 100m every transfer window. A good example is Matic now everyone wants him.
Please don't get me wrong I would want Pogba or Gundagan or who ever you mention but wld be more happy if we got a solution internally which I believe with young stars we have its a possibility (if only TSO was good at developing them not buying them expensively)

I like the bad times, it's the only way we can see who really support chelsea jose is a must have I dnt think some of the players are jose type of players stop stressing come jan transfer window nd roman give jose what he want, then we will be like a house on fire hot. we struggle in 3 department cb.DFM, striker

We have a defensive midfield in luiz, romeu, and chalboah. We have more attacking midfielders that we can find places for not including the talent on loan paizon, hazard etc. Totally agree with the shaw links, van arnholt, and tc from athletico to come back we only lack in central defence and world class strikers.
The premiership has changed from joses first time around, it will not be as easy to win, and rightly so, other teams now have the money to buy exciting talent which makes it all the more exciting
