So we're short of numbers and only have Alonso as a natural LWB, and then we loan Baba out. If we now don't sign Sandro or someone for that position we're in trouble again. I just don't understand our Business, at least hold onto players until you sign someone else! Baba in my opinion although recovering from injury could do a very good job in a LWB role, he's far more suited to that than at LB with which we saw him play during his brief time with us in his first season.

So surprised we're not going in for Keita balde, 16 goals, Think last year of contract and can't imagine lazio would demand high fee rather than sell to juve Napoli etc .

I have been crying about Keita Balde and Thomas Lemar. The good thing about Keita Balde is that he's cheap for his quality. I take him over Perisic.

Seen individual highlights of morata and impressed buy the movement and encouraged by fact Pedro hazard bakyoko will eventually be there to help but how was rudiger? Read a few things to suggest in a back 3 he was really good? I'm that true or wind up?

He was good Matt so was Christensen, I hope they both feature more than Cahills position this season and beyond.

All Cahill has done is let team down add pressure and possibly lost his spot. Gutted Christensen had his goal nicked off him n given offside, cesc really annoyed me thou his two bookings were embarrassinh, he should have the experience to know better.

Don't heap it all on Cahill. The defence was no weaker after he went off and we let three shocking goals in. Remember in the 'let down' stakes we have Moses, Pedro and Fabregas in the queue. The problem I have with Cahill is the fact he is NOT a Captain.

C1955, we were weaker after Cahill's sending off because we had 2 defenders on debut and 3 at the back who had never played together before - this was down to Conte who could/ should have switched Azpi back to his natural position and moved Boga to wingback.

MissDW: Granted they had not played in a competitive match together but we are talking about the much lauded Christensen and German International Rudiger replacing someone that many on here would like to see as no more than back up. Just look at the goals, totally amateurish defending. As much as I am impressed with Conte I think he made several wrong calls on Saturday not least playing Morata from the off and then substituting him of if he was struggling. 3-0 down and you swop a forward for a forward when you should be chasing the game.

Showed great fight in 2nd half not going to bang on over the ref! But for god sake what's going why there no signings! Don't keep saying there will be before window shuts cos you do not know that for sure! Should be already in place. Joke really is.

Some clubs won't sell and some clubs are asking ridiculous prices for players.

The good news is that Cahill and the Carthorse will miss a few games. A back 3 of Aspi, Luiz and Rudiger - don't think Cahill will get back in.

Christensen did well when he came on I'd go with Azpi, Christensen and Rudiger against Spurs then I'd put Luiz next to Kante in midfield. Hopefully Pedro is fit and then him and Willian can play behind Morata.

Luiz in midfield is not an ideal solution

i don't see anyone capable to earn a spot there in the current players available

Would love to see Vidal or lanzini come in! Especially as we're looking for a player threw the middle! . any sort of interest in these lads as I heard Liverpool have shown interest in both. thanks.

Ever since we clinched the title something just hasn't been right, the FA Cup final we never turned up in and we kind of excused that because we'd just won the league. But we've started off this season in the same manor. Sloppy, lethargic and wide open defensively.

Today yes we were down to 10 men but that's inexcusable to simply ship 3 goals before half time, especially to a side like Burnley (with no disrespect to Burnley) . Less possession and less of an attacking threat with 10 men yes, but you should still be relatively tight defensively.

Conte no longer looks happy or full of Passion. It's as if he's resigned to us having a poor season, especially with his recent comments (a mourinho season)

We need signings and good ones at that, especially some depth in midfield because when the Champions League starts our squad as of present will get decimated.

The only positive I can find from today was Morata coming on and getting a goal. We have a very tough next few games but maybe that's what we need, either to start performing or at worst losing and the board pulling their finger out and make some signings before it's too late.

Completely disgaree, sorry. Conte has been his usual self, we were robbed today by poor refereeing and a shambolic two minute period. If it had been 1-0 or even 2-0 at HT, we'd have won easily.

Wrong CFC. We have been all over the place in more ways than one since the Cup Final and Bobby23 is correct. We conceded three goals when our defence was still at its strongest, bad goals. Yes, the sending off impacted our game but we still had more possession, more attempts and more on target than Burnley. We could have salvaged something. Conte has muttered all preseason, he looked resigned all game, we have struggled in the transfer market and currently have Bayakoko, injured, Morata, apparently not fit enough yet and Rudiger, someone we do not appear to know where to play him as our team strengthening players. Four players sent off in three games is not ALL bad luck or bad refereeing.

We didn't play well in the cup final and we haven't had a perfect pre-season and although I might be in a minority, I tacan understand why the ref sent GC and CF off but overall I agree the ref did have a poor game.
All that said, to make it sound like we are a club in turmoil is WRONG.
We have tried through out this window to sign players that will improve our squad but if clubs don't want to selll or put a ridiculous valuation on their players want can the club do?
When Roman purchased our club that was on the threshold of bankruptcy, HE authorised a spending spree the like of which had never been seen in football BUT in the last five years our business model has changed. The club is now run on a sound financial footing.
The club will sign players before the window shuts and yes it would have been better if we had signed more players on the 1st August but we didn't so WE now and so does CONTE have to except the current position.
If we keep on looking at the situation as a crisis as the media or scouser commentators do, we will end up sounding like very sad gooner or even worse, perpetual looser Spurs supporters!
On a happier note. Huddersfield have now been top of the league longer than Spurs have in the last two years!
