I remember when I got slated for mentioning us signing Vardy before the window shut. Batshuayi offers nothing up front.

Vardy would of give us a different dimension in the champions league. His pace, work rate and finishing would have been great for rotation.

Looks like you rite Loco but Vardy is much older so.

And then he scores two goals πŸ˜‚ But honestly I haven't been impressed with him.

Two goals does not hide the fact that Bats is not good enough for us and I just cannot see any improvement on the horizon. That has to be one of the worst teams we have had at the Bridge from Europe.

His first touch is what let's him down, everything just seems to bounce off of him whether it be his chest, foot or thigh. His poor touch then means he's always chasing after the ball when he could actually be taking a shot at goal if he controlled the ball instantly. Batshuyai needs to work on his touch above anything.

I think your overly harsh on the guy. He wants to impress as we all do it just has not clicked for him yet properly. He loves the club that's evident plus he has Sat on the bench for what. two years and we never hear a peep out of him. Better him than someone that will demand this and that.

I love bats and I rate him a lot. As denningtonbear said he never complains and trust loves Chelsea so better him no complaining then someone who would cause a bust up. He is strong, he has a great shot, he's tall, fast, the only thin that let's hm down is his first touch and it is evident in game that's what he needs to wrk on. He's not our number 1 striker but he's a pretty good back up . he's a better backup than what most teams have; Arsenal - Welbeck / Spurs - Llorente / Liverpool - Sturridge / Barcelona - alcacer / Madrid - don't even have a back up striker. This just shows that although he's not the best, he's better than the opponents in his position in their clubs.

From what I saw last night, Batshuayi didn't really have many chances to be fair to him. In the first half especially, there were a couple of situations in which he was just unlucky. Of course his first touch does need to improve but I don't remember too many where he ruined a goal scoring moment by it.

Batshuayi isn't quite the finished product yet. He can be very good but he needs learn to play smart more and know when to apply his hold-up play (strength) .

He has to work on his runs (behind the defence and take up some good positions), he rather prefers holding up play- using his strength at all times which isn't always smart (the effect of that is that it wastes the speed of those playing off him like Willian, Pedro and Hazard) . Don't get me wrong, his hold up play is above average but he needs to know when to apply it and when to make runs.

He should also know when to fall at times when a defender marks him closely.
BOTTOM LINE- HE WILL GET BETTER AND SMARTER WITH TIME, HARDWORK AND GOOD COACHING.

Cesc is so slow πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

Slow he maybe but against teams like that and EPL teams that pack their defence he is gold dust with his passing but take his time and space (Ed001 quote) away against the more forceful teams and we have to leave him out. The most frustrating player to watch is Willian. Another great shift, neat touches good link up play and then no end product when he has a scoring opportunity.

Hahahaha, C1955 you are right about Fabregas and Willian. A friend of mine calls Willian 'MR. WOODWORK'- cos he does everything right only to finally drive the ball straight to the crossbar.

If Willian converts the chances he gets and creates, he might be at par with Ronaldo.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - shame you can't crossbreed the two to get a player with Fabregas's vision and passing range allied to Willian's workrate and pace.}

15 Sep 2017 08:20:01
I stand corrected but I feel Kevin DeBruyne is a little like a crossbreed of Fabregas' vision/ passing range and Willian's workrate/ pace.

(KDB= 80% Fabregas Vision, 90% Passing range + 95% Willian workrate, 100% Willian pace. )

I'm not Alonso will get exposed against top winger. Alonso has got an absolute wand of a left foot and scores vital goals for us but Alex Sandro is as complete as they come.

For the supporters of a more discerning age it was good to see Jimmy Greaves have a bit of joy with his remarriage after being so cruelly struck down by a stroke. For those that never saw him in a Chelsea shirt, he was a supreme goal poacher that would have graced today's team. 124 goals in 157 games and hardly a cross word to opponent or referee, a pleasure to have seen him.

We have to play our A team tonight and put down a marker. Ok, we should beat Carrier Bag but we need to do it comprehensively which is why I've been maintaining that we shouldn't be starting with squad players - I'm hoping Chels 6 Carrier Bag 0.

Hoping to see Christensen, Cahill, Musonda, Zappacosta and Batshuayi in action today.

We can start rotating the team just after we open up a two or three goal lead not before. Too many times Chelsea leave us holding our breath at this stage and this game is about a clear win not giving players a run out.

Conte is crying about 7 games in 21 days- that means one game every 3 days for the next 21 days ( Its a lot) . It is expedient he rotates his squad; we have good squad players for this Qarabag game and don't forget the squad has to be fresh for Arsenal's game on Sunday.

*Christensen can hold his own after the good job he did against Spurs and Burnley. He also has to play games to sign a new deal.

*Cahill is experienced/ capable (and the captain) - so he can play today cos i think it will be right to sit him out against Arsenal.

*Batshuayi can hold his own and may be replaced bv Morata at some point in the game. He will need to play to be a sharp backup striker.

*Zappacosta has Conte's full support to cut it at Stamford Bridge. He too can start this game so that a stronger Moses can play against Arsenal.

*Saying Musonda should start might be asking toomuch but I trust the kid; decision is purely up to Conte but I wanna see him at some point in this game.
Conte has to rotate.

Loco watch your words my man. Im sure Miss Wood can put together a better team on paper than you. She does have a point. So let me put it out there. Why don't you each put a team together from the last 5 to 10 years of Chelsea players and let see who gets the most likes.
