I really hope we can get a defensive midfielder in Jan and my first choice would be Gianelli Imbula . powerful, athletic, box to box and has an eye for goal.

Obvs if love Pogba but it's never going to happen

We've been linked to him for a while, and he's a good player, I haven't seen him much but I'm fully confident that Nathan Ake could do exactly what imbula has done at marseille for us.

Imo if we wanted a player in that mid position, it should be top quality, or no one

I agree and I feel were at a stage now with our loan players and youth that we have squad ready players.

Any purchases from now on in my opinion should be 1st team starters or HG who have the potential to be world class.

Varane, Pogba, Sterling, Barkley.

Agree with Aron. Either we buy a player who's definitely going to upgrade the quality of our starting 11, or we should stick with what we have.
Don't know if Ake could be as good as Imbula (never seen him play myself), but he's shown he can do a job there and is still young so probably has lots of room to grow.

I agree with your points . However Mourinho is a manager tht loves to win everything . to me he won't risk the likes of youngsters such a ake in prem games. As much a I believe once he gets a good run of games he would fit in nicely.

I wouldn't go near Barkley he injuries concern me . Top player but I personal see he earning more money from the medical department. Lol

Reus would be my first choice striker/ att mid seems to be cheap ish buy clause and could player is either positions.

PB actually said it perfectly. Jose, Emenalo and co have balanced the squad perfectly. We have some very good players and it's nearly complete. There aren't a lot of buys needed, so if we do buy someone it should be the player we really want. We shouldn't settle for someone just because the preferred target is unavailable at this time. Buying just for the sake of buying is stupid and I don't think the club will do that.
It's a shame Ed has said that the rumours about Reus are just that, rumours and nothing else. If we'd sell Schurrle and Salah and then brought in Reus and Traore or Thorgan Hazard or even Atsu from loan, that's some great business in my opinion. Don't think Dortmund would be very difficult to deal with as they probably don't want to sell to Bayern. Convincing the player would probably be the tricky part.
Varane for centre back would be GOD.
I've practically given up the Pogba dream, and I don't know if there's another player I'd really like to come in for central midfield.
Reus and Varane would make me unbelievably happy :)

We have Van Ginkel to come back as defensive midfield - as well as Ake, Chabolah, Romeu. We have to bite the bullet and start giving our young players an extended run in the 1st team.
