Alright lads was just thinking about if we upgrade our defensive midfield next summer. Mikel's been playing well but he's never been consistent enough and I don't trust him in big games. Everyones mentioned Khedira and Imbula. i'm a big fan of Schneiderlin and he has a very good all round game and he's one of them players who would do very well next to Matic and we could even move to Cesc up to no.10 where he's at his best. Even if you have to spend a bit more it's far less a risk having Schneiderlin than Khedira. Khedira's latest injury record worries me. This would also give Fabregas and Hazard more freedom. With selling the likes of Mikel, McEachran and Romeu they should raise some funds.

If I'm going to take Oscar out of his role as a regular it's because we got pogba. Most of those guys are awfully expensive for squad players and i'd rather keep Mikel or develop somebody already at the club to play in that role. People beg for more playing time for RLC and midfield reinforcements within a few days.
To be honest, I liked the way Mikel was along side Matic. I don;t think I have even seen Mikel ping balls like that. For Nigeria he is the creator and he is very good at it. i'm not saying he is going to suddenly develop into this different player but given license to be more creative and forward thinking might be closer to his natural game. I agree, if he does put a bit of consistency behind him he could actually turn out to be close to the player we thought we were getting. If we could get Pogba that would be amazing but the amount of money is stupid. i'm also thinking we should learn a lesson from that Pogba Man U issue. We buy Pogba/someone else for millions and millions, Loftus-Cheek doesn't develop or, probably more damaging, leaves a la Pogba and becomes the dominant amazing player we all hope he is. Honestly we are starting to have an embarrassment of riches. I think all we need next year is a striker to replace Drogba when he probably retires, a centre back and I still think the right wing is a problem, unless Salah develops or Schurrle starts showing form. Reus would be amazing. but I think we are pretty set
I think a 4-3-3 with matic a little deeper than oscar and fabregas would work well. But saying that why fix something which is not broke. Fabregas assists are awesome, even from playing deep. I do think Paul pogba would take us to another level and he's worth breaking the bank for, he's that good. Pogba also looks best in the CM position
(Not attacking or defensive, similar to cesc). So I would only see him at chelsea if oscar was sold. Imagine a midfield and attack of
Matic, fabregas and pogba with hazard, reus and costa.
Reus ain't coming, simple as that. I doubt another high profile winger will be bought.
I do love Pogba though, and I'd love to see him in Chelsea colors. However last time I saw rumours regarding him, it said that Man City were trying to do a deal for him and met with some representatives (I think). So he looks extremely unlikely as well.
Fabregas has said he prefers playing deep rather than further forward.

I think we need Fabregas behind the striker, he is by far our best passer and needs more freedom than he has playing in a deeper role. I also don't think Fabregas is good enough defensively when Chelsea lose possession and are counter attacked so I'd play Matic and Mikel as the midfield two. In games against harder opposition I would play Willian with his work rate and against easier teams I would rotate with Schurrle as we shouldn't need such defensively solidity.
