That was a vastly different PSG from the team we played. In the first leg Zlatan missed a couple.

That was a completely different PSG from the side we faced. In the first leg Zlatan missed a couple that he has buried 10 times out of 10 in his career and this is compared to PSG burying every opportunity they got against us. This lead to city being able to pilfer a 2-2 draw which they didn't deserve on the balance of play. In the second leg PSG were missing Veratti, matuidi, and Luiz from the start as well as Motta going off before half time. They also played fairly poorly across the board with blanc playing a system that was clearly uncomfortable for the players. I'm not going to say that PSG deserved to go through, but I will say that if PSG played these two ties as strongly as the two against us then they would be in the semis.

Personally in the first leg I felt we should have had minimum two goals. Costa, Pedro and Oscar all missed good chances plus Trapp was on fire. When they are on top aggregate wise or scoreline wise, PSG can bully teams. But not when chasing games as they never get a chance to practise it in the league.

Views on Christensen, a candidate for young player of the year in bundesliga but according to some at Chelsea not quite good enough for us. Bayern Munich apparently showing an interest but again cannot get playing time at Chelsea. Our youth setup is winning almost everything but not one is being talked about as a possible regular 11 player from next season. Chelsea are wasting too much money on rubbish like Falcao when solanke/ tammy could be getting some well earned minutes.

I have seen Christensen twice this season and he was OK in a moderate team. BM have lost twelve games this season in a not very competitive league, a vast difference to the level of the EPL week in and week out. As you say our youth set-up is excellent but look at our teams over the last five years and we always appear that little bit maturer and solid than others and a soften happens players do not progress further, their career peak if you like is youth football. I like the look of several of the current team but starring in youth football is a whole different than being able to cut it in the first team. I do agree with the waste of money/ poor buying and I know I harp on about it but the money we paid for Pedro and Rahman was scandalous and I am sure most could name another half a dozen where we paid in excess of £20m for what.

My take is he is a very young player that is playing well in a system that protects him more than most would and a league that features a lower level of competition. With that said the fact that he has established himself as a key figure in a team on loan is impressive in itself as most clubs would prefer to use their own players if all things are equal. It's promising that he's received plaudits from both his club and national team manager as well as the media as I trust their views more than my own. Overall I think it would be better for him to have another year of gaurunteed playing time while the club sort out the futures of Terry, Bran, and Cahill.

Considering this is the first season he has ever played in a men's team and he has established himself as a key player in a team challenging for Europe in one of europes top 3 leagues and played in the champions league keeping a clean sheet against juventus and performing well throughoutbthe 5 matches he played at europes elitist level. That's not too bad really is it and under the right guidance he could be good.
