ed, do you know if there is any truth behind the fellaini rumours? i'm assuming essien is the guy we're looking to replace?. have seen reports on strootman on the player-profiles site, and he seems a better option. who do you think would be the better buy for chelsea? also have chelsea any interest in shaqiri or sergio canals?
cheers ed

We really do not need to make too many more signings (to add to Marin) during the summer.

When you look at the players we have coming through the youth set up, a large number of which I hope to see making their first team appearances in the next two years. We simply need three, maybe four, players to both complement the players we already have and replace the players who will leave. Champions League qualification, well winning the Champions League, will have an impact on the players that we can sign, but even if we have to face a season in the Europa League; attracting the right players shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
RB) Cesar Azpiliqueta :- Champions League or not a move from Marseille would be a step up for him.

CM) Either Javi Martinez or Jack Rodwell :- I can’t see Martinez moving to a team that doesn’t have any Champions League football and I can see a move to Barcelona developing. He would be my favourite prospective signing for this position however I do see Rodwell as a backup option.

R/LW) Markel Susaeta :- A hard working and skilful player who would fit straight into the Premier League, he is also not too pricey. Lucas Moura would be another attacking player that I would love to see at Chelsea however I can see this being a bit of a saga.

CF) One of either Radamel Falcao or Edinson Cavani would be the ideal signing but I can’t see either at Chelsea next season, not sure who we might sign in this position.

Susaeta has only really been performing at his current level this season on a very fluid attacking team such as Bilbao, i dont think hes proven himself, alot of people you see on here want Cesar Azpiliqueta as our RB, apart from a youtube video and ED saying where interested has anyone really seen him play? Same with Susaeta? we need a proven world class winger/assist machine, i really like Moura and hope his skills are transferable but my main target would be Di Maria. Hes been playing european level football for 4 years now at Benfica and Real Madrid.

Javi Martinez would be a great buy as a deep lying midfielder but we still need to add a creative attacking spark in midfield, lets be honest Piazon isnt going to be ready until the 2013/2014 season and even if he is he wont be starting till then. We need a Gotze/Ozil/Pastore type player, a younger Frank Lampard if that exists.

I do agree we dont need 10 signings and to spend 250m

Don't think Rodwell would suit us due to his injuries. However Strootman would be a good buy, his doing well and pushing for a place in the Dutch starting 11. Also Huntelaar, Luke de Jong or lewandowskil have all been on fire this season. Plus they would all be cheaper options.

The awards have been announced for the 2011/201e season and you guessed it the Fans' Player of the Year award, ended up going to Mata. The award is well deserved - Mata's been everything that was advertised and much more. Hopefully this is just the start of a long and successful Chelsea career.
Ramires won the Players' Player of the Year award. He's been brilliant all season, whether it be in the centre or on the right wing. I can't. Believe how much he has improved since his first few months, he's been absolutely superb this season, and the players have recognised that.
The Young Player of the Year award ended up going to Lucas Piazon , no surprise great signing can't wait to see him in the first team. Best goal of the season went to Rami don't have to tell you which :). Good to see we made the right signings . More of that this summer please.

Terry has always had the support of London loving Capello.
Even if De Matteo wins the Champions League. Fabio Capello will be the next Chelsea manager.
De Matteo knows this and has said as much about not keeping the job.

Anyone but capello.

But when it comes to Roman Abramovich you can assume nothing.

His treatment of his managers is both cavalier and totally unpredictable.

So when an interview appeared last week with Fabio Capello saying he wanted one last shot at management — preferably in the Premier League — it got you thinking.

The picture that accompanied the words from the former England manager might have provided a vague clue as to where he wanted this future employment to be.

It captured Capello studying his feet alongside a street sign of Lennox Gardens, Borough of Chelsea, London SW1.

Coincidentally, just where the former AC Milan, Juventus and Real Madrid boss has a flat.

Despite his failure with England, Capello’s CV knocks Di Matteo’s into a cocked hat.

There is something to this. Just got a text from a mate having a drink in The Worlds End pub. A couple of punters are convinced about it. He has just bet them a few pints as he doesn't believe it.

Battersea power station is a hell of an ugly building! {Ed002's Note - A lot of people think otherwise. The compromise is "iconic".}
