Charlie Austin being looked at by Chelsea as a potential buy Eds?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Douglas Costa is looking like the winger the club will target - much to most fans apparent disappointment. I don't think he's the player we need and personally don't rate him any higher Cuadrado or Salah, but it's difficult to rate a 'flair player' coming from a league like Ukraine, or Italy for that matter, and know how they're going to do in the EPL. You can scout, and scout, but at the end of the day it's a role of the dice - a pricey role of the dice. Let's hope he proves disappointed fans wrong. However with Salah looking to leave on loan this summer and Cuadrado's future unclear we might need to sign another winger before the summer is up - Reus, Gotze, Griezmann the worlds our winger shaped lobster!

{Ed008's Note - I think Cuadrado deserves a chance up until at least January, cannot judge a player who made just 4 starts in the Premiership last season. He's a talented player who ticks all the boxes Mourinho wants from a right winger who will defend and attack. The last player Jose judged too soon was arguably the best player in the Bundesliga and finished the season with 15 goals and 25 assists in the No10 role.

Mourinho said that Cuadrado is going nowhere this summer. I know we shouldn't believe everything he says, but it's still worth noting. I also think he deserves some more time to impress.

Ed008 - i'm all for letting players acclimatise to the EPL, it's well known that it can take time; and, as you say, Cuadrado does only have 4 starts to his name. Given the lack of quality wingers available out there this summer a Cuadrado stay might be for the best. However, I haven't really seen a hint of potential from him. Hopefully the Copa America will be a confidence booster for the lad! I think there was more to De Bruyne leaving than being judged as poor by Mourinho.

{Ed008's Note - I think the Copa America will do good for him playing more regularly with quality players like James Rodriguez and Falcao let's hope he has a good tournament and returns to pre-season raring to go.

Fantastic ed. mourinho needs to start him though to give him the confidence.

I think Bertrand traore is more affected by Douglas costas signing than cuadrado. If we sign costa, traore doesn't come back for next year for sure but cuadrado could still stay. This disappoints me as I feel traore is the player most ready to make the step up into our first team and there's a natural hole for him to fill.

I believe Cuad will get more game time next season, especially early on. He didn't get much time up until now but we were in a title race so I understand Mourinho for going with the ones he trusts.

I think Bertrand Traore would benefit from our potential link up with Marseille. More competitive league and UCL experience.

What do you guys think of the Charlie Austin link - I like him as a player. Bagged lots of goals in a poor, poor QPR team without a massive penalty ratio; and he's English.

Wouldnt mind austin at all I believe he would be great 2nd striker if remy leaves (or even if he stays), and if we lose remy we can give bamford a go as 3rd striker
