Daily Mail says RDM has added 28 year-old Porto right back Christian Sapunaru and 26 year-old Lazio midfielder Senad Lulic to his shortlist.
Thoughts? {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

Could one of the eds confirrm if hulk has signed a new 4 year deal with porto this summer!!
many thanks

davo {Ed018's Note - I don't believe it was signed this summer but he does have 4 years left on his contract}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

He signed a 6-8 year deal I think with that 100M buyout clause. That's why it is so hard to sign him, the very agent who got him to agree to this deal is the one whoring him out saying he wants to leave... Pretty smart eh?

Earlier AVB mentioned that several clubs were holding discussions with Spurs regarding Modric. Can you name them teams Ed002? Cheers DJ {Ed002's Note - PSG, Manchester United, Real Madrid.}

Earlier AVB mentioned that several clubs were holding discussions with Spurs regarding Modric, are we one of those clubs ed ?

i have always believed that our defence has been so good over the past 10-15 years mostly because we have great but very experienced players in those positions.....
this season, everything is changing and so far i m loving all the changes----the attack is young, they express themselves freely. but still i think defence has to be experienced....that is why i think we shud rather go for maicon/piczcek/debuchy instead of azpilicueta .....piczcek being the 1st choice.

i just have a weird feeling that piazon or marin will be moulded into lampard type player.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Would this "weird feeling" at all be down to the fact that Ed002 has said at least 3 times that the idea is that Piazon will be moulded into lampards long-term successor? I'm just wondering?

Agree1 Disagree3

I have no idea if any of the eds have said that....i was thinking it would be marin....no issues wid piazon too...both are gonna be massive stars

De bruyne is actually really good centrally, like to score, box to box i think he is a good replacement for lamps. piazon is even mre attacking

Agree1 Disagree2

A lot of our good defending was down to us defending as a team. Drogba held the ball up. The wingers all covered back. All three midfielders were box to box. I'm not saying it won't happen this year but I feel we will show a different style of defending compared to years past.

Bet you CFC lot are all chuffed to hear in his interview that AVB believes he was responsible for your cup wins. He must have left the club in such a solid state that a WBA cast off could carry on his good work.

This is from an LFC fan - you gotta laugh at his gall!

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Bulls**t! 3-1 down against Napoli and 0-0 against brum in fa cup at our own ground! It was RDM and the players that won us them 2 games so we could go on and win both cups!! Nothing to do with AVB! The guy is a muppet! DJ

Agree10 Disagree2

100 per cent agree avb left us up sh't creek with out a paddle he is a muppet

Agree1 Disagree1

From what it sounds like to me, AVB went in with the wrong attitude and an ego bigger than his reputation. Stepped on far too many toes and his team selections were a joke. You could tell by the way the players played on the field and a total lack of drive. It was shaping up to be a complete disaster but turned out fantastic when Robbie took the reigns. Its what we have needed for a long time, a manager who is passionate about the club and has the players and fans interests at heart. Wonder how the Yods get on with him?

Agree1 Disagree1

He came in to the club with an Ora of invinsibility and when your results are that poor the invincibility goes away.

Hi Ed,

Wondering if you have any news regarding Chelsea’s stadium plans…if there other plots we are looking at – or will Chelsea speak to the local council and try and re-build? {Ed002's Note - The council are keen to explore further options with the club. Height and access remain the issues.}

My opinion of Chelsea signings

Hazard - £32 mil
Marin - £12 mil
Hulk - £38 mil
Oscar - £24 mil
Azi - £14 mil
Schurle - £22 mil

Total £142 mil

My opinion of chelsea sales

Drogba - Free
Kalou - Free
Bosingwa - Free
Malouda - £8 mil
Essien - £15 mil
Sturridge - £12 mil

Total - £35 mil

Total expenditure - £107 mil

Feel free to comment but not slate

Believable2 Unbelievable4

In my opinion we shudnt be paying £24m on a unknown talent in Oscar and im sure the club wudnt pay that fee.

Malouda wont be sold for that price, if he is going to go to Brazil then a fee of around £4m-£5m max i would see as a transfer fee. I would also not mind us selling Ivanovic, if we can get a new RB in. He is probs worth around £20m, we have Chabolah, Ake, Kalas behind Luiz, Terry and Cahill, he would provide great cover at RB and CB but i think he wants regular football. £20m would be a good move for all parties.

PB

Agree2 Disagree10

Do you honestly think that he hasn't been thourly scouted! Just cause you don't know who he is!

Agree3 Disagree1

Would love the signings. i would like muniain if hulk fails. with the outs i think we could get mre for stur and not so much for essien. think ess will be fully fit next year hes gd for our squad.

Agree0 Disagree1

I honestly would rather have sturridge over schurrle and I know I'm gonna get slated for this. First off you will save money with sturridge as long as you can resign him. That's huge. Second off he's homegrown and english. Finally I think he has a far larger upside than schurrle as long as he can get over his selfishness. Keep in mind I'm one of his biggest critics.

On wikipedia Oscar is already being said to be a chelsea player. Wouldnt this be a screw up if this deal didnt go though by wiki. Thoughts Ed? {Ed002's Note - Anyone can edit Wikipedia.}

Now I'm not trying to say anything concrete here, but I think Oscar is a good choice for a buy and also AVB pickled him out and much as I hate to say it, his transfers (apart from Mereilles) were all fantastic, I think he got that element of the game right. Anyone actually seen Oscar play a lot? I've only seen a few Brazil U20 highlights.
CFCFOREVER! {Ed002's Note - The only transfer AVB decided on at Chelsea was Meireles.}

The Guardian has stated that Oscar will join within the next few days and that Di Matteo will favour a 4-2-3-1 formation next season, so basically the 1st eleven could look like this:

Cech
Ivanovic/Cahill/Terry/Cole
Luiz/Mikel
Oscar/Hazard/Marin
Torres

subs
Turnbull
Maicon
Essien
Mata
Romeu
De Bruyne
Sturridge

Going to be hard to please some players, realised Lamps will have his work cut out if the new guys deliver the goods. {Ed018's Note - so Ramires doesnt start or even make the bench, David Luiz is played out of position. Mata on the bench. Wake up}

Believable2 Unbelievable10

Luiz is cring out to be played in defensive midfield, keeps getting caught going forward and that is not a quality a center back needs, he wants to get involved. Ok your right about Ramires, id start him on the right wing, going to be one hell of a selection headache for Robbie. {Ed018's Note - so Mata still doesn't start, your starting Oscar who isnt a Chelsea player, you have Maicon on the bench who isn't a Chelsea player. Not to mention a few of those players may be loaned out or sold this summer}

Agree1 Disagree5

I said COULD look like, get a grip.

Agree2 Disagree3

Or it is most likely will look like this:

Cech
Ivanovis/Cahill/Terry/Cole
Mikel/Lampard
Ramires/Hazard/Mata
Torres
subs:
Turnbull
Romeu
Sturridge
Essien
De Bruyne
Marin
Luiz

Agree0 Disagree1

If we play.a DM ramires will sart lamps should be the one dropped

Please get with the program guys....it amazes me that there are so many dissolutional people on here! This is coming from an ex rugby player but has been devoted to Chelsea for the last 10 years - its simple what made Chelsea over the past few years was an incredible defence, including the likes of Carvalho and Desailly combined with a massively strong back bone throughout. Lampard, Deschamps, Ballack and evryone forgets the legend Makele! And up front I need say no more other than Hasslebaink, Zola and Drogba.
Terry, Lampard (getting on now) and drogba gone Chelsea now have a massive job rebuilding this team. We have been so lucky and fortunate in the past that we must realise that these young guys have MASSIVE boots to fill, which many of them will struggle. Lets not get carried away with name signings guys, lets be interested in people playing with heart and a pair of ball! We will come good, be patient x

ED001 have you seen much of Oscar? is he better the Ganso or Lucas Moura? {Ed001's Note - I have never seen him play, sorry.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Watched his videos on Youtube, looks like a young Kaka type of player to me. {Ed018's Note - i've seen him play a handful of times most recently in matches with Brazil and he is a good player who i believe is alittle bit further along than Lucas Moura. Obviously it's impossible to predict how is career will play out but he appears to have the talent there}
