A perfectly respectable starting 11 for the first game of the season.
Cech
Bosingwa
Terry Luiz
Cole
Ramires
Lampard
Modric
Sanchez
Torres
Sturridge
Bench
Ivanovic
Zhirkov
Mikel
Josh Mc
Turnbull
Drogba

I'd start Drogba over Sturridge. Danny has proven in the past that he's a shoot first/pass second type of forward, who is much better suited for a situation where he is the lone striker. Drogba will at least pass the ball to Torres on occasion. Starting Danny and Nando is no better than keeping Maloser.

I still think Drogba and Torres don't belong in the same stadium never mind the same team. Torres is a £50M investment - he plays. Drogba (and Lukaku for that matter) are 'back to the goal' physical centre forwards. If Torres plays....and believe me he will, he needs to run onto the ball using his pace and balance. There is no longer a place for the type of striker that Drogba, Lukaku are. VB wants pace, quick feet and an adaptable midfield. Sturridge can be an understudy to Torres and a very good one at that. Sanchez will carve open defences - just what we need.
My luxury purchase would be HULK

Well, whether the club envisions Studge as Torres' understudy, I doubt that Danny would buy into that. He probably left Citeh thinking that he was Drogs replacement. I think that he was happy to get loaned out to Bolton and be a first option, and would probably jump at the chance again. Like you said, Nando is a £50M investment. Nando WILL be the first option.
I agree with you about Sanchez though. IMHO he's been one of the best players in the Copa America.

Is that because your saw him score one goal, he was poor in the first game and didn't exactly shine in the game he scored in, imo we should drop interest in sanchez and go for aguero, he is the one player i have always wanted to see at chelsea, even before we signed torres.
Agree1
Disagree8
No, it's because I felt that he looked pretty damned good. Are you impressed with Aguero because you saw him score one goal? What a stupid question...
Not hard for Aguero to look good surrounded by that mess known as the Argentina National Team. But hey, if you're willing for us to pay him £200,000 plus a week wages, more power to you.
Agree7
Disagree1
Actually ive been watching him since he came through the ranks at independiente he has done everything since then to prove he is worth the money, his goal record is outstanding. he can score any type of goal from long range, finesse, free kicks and he also has power and strength, which is something our current targets all seem to lack.

...and wage demands of £200k or more a week - notice that you failed to mention that little tidbit.
Hey, I watched him launch 2 sitters into the 80th row yesterday. True he scored as well, but hell, Kalou can score some goals too in between his sitters - and he isn't paid £200k a week. And it wasn't like Aguero was setting up anyone else. That was what Messi was trying to do. I'll pass on the £200K man, thank you very much.

Ile comment, Good team but doubt Chelsea are clever enough to go for them all.
Agree2

It's not a matter of Chelsea being "clever enough" to go after them all, but a matter of how much Real, Atletico, Palermo, Spuds, and Ajax will hold us hostage on their crazy transfer demands. If you've supported Chelsea for more than a few years you know that there's a regular transfer fee, and a Chelsea transfer fee.
As for the starting XI, not bad.

I understand what your saying, but at the same time if Chelsea want sexy football there guna have to stop being stubbern and spend big.
Agree1

Yeah and real, city, barca , utd are just handed over players.

"I understand what your saying, but at the same time if Chelsea want sexy football there guna have to stop being stubbern and spend big."
What does that have to do with being "clever enough". Stating that someone isn't clever is tantamount to calling them thick. On the contrary. Chelsea have shown great restraint (well, up to buying Torres) by not stupidly paying whatever the thieves around Europe were asking for players.

"Yeah and real, city, barca , utd are just handed over players."
No, but you are aware that Real and City's financial situations are a bit different than ours, right? Barca spends prudently when needed to supplement the amazing players that have come up through their academy. Man Utd. spend when they need to as well, but don't splash out £75-100M a season.
Agree6
Disagree1
Bingo, thats what i was stating about Chelsea, but I was tryna do it with a little respect. Its simple, to win trophies you need great players, to get great players you have to spend big. If Chelsea continue to act stubbern and not agree to meet the valuations, then there guna win f**k all

John Terry to be axed as captain and of place in the main team... possibly AVB will bring in Neven Subotic to replace him {Ed018's Note - you just posted a starting lineup with Terry in it, now your saying he may get axed
This is nonsense... utter nonsense. There is noone else atthe club that could lead Chelsea on the pitch as well as terry does, with the exception maybe of Essien, who i would consider a little too shy for it. You gotta stop smoking the funny fags mate...

LOL, Yer co Chelse are in the habit of letting there best players go arent they TERRY will be at Chelsea until he hangs his boots up. We may buy a defender if we sell Alex but for some reason I dont see why Chelsea would want to sell Alex do you??

Alex won't be a Chelsea player at the start of the season.

Alex going to porto as part of the falcao deal

What happened to Alex and Bayern? {Ed018's Note - there are a few teams interested in alex, although i dont remember Porto being one of them}

Yeah, that's the first that I've heard about Porto as well... though I guess that it would make sense, Alex speaking Portuguese and AVB and Falcao apparently wanting to work together again.

Wow... failing grade in FIFA Manager 101.
Good luck playing with 3 strikers who excel when they're the LONE target.
Pepe is a left mid now? Does he know that? He mainly plays CB, and on occasion holding mid, but left defender? Even Neymar would be more comfortable in that position...

Meant "left mid" not left defender haha...
