Mr. Ed, are Chelsea looking to get another striker since torres and drogba are not reliable?

I don't know about you lads but I'd personally love Chelsea to sign Remy as backup to Costa. If Didi is out for the reported 6 months, and Torres been, well, Torres then surely we'd need another striker. Remy would be more than enough if Costa gets injured/suspended. he's strong, quick, skillful, good finisher in and around the box off of either foot. He'd definitely be a good player to chuck on later on in a game when we can't break a team down. And he offers something different to our other centre forwards. I'd be extremely happy with him, Aubameyang or even Hernandez. Having said all his I am hoping and praying that Didi is back ASAP

How do you all rate Salah? Has he had a good pre season? Personally I've not seen any of the games, but I did feel at the end of last season, that he wasn't ready yet. Would we be better sending him off to another Pl team to get some experience? As he would easily make the starting 11 for a bottom half of the leauge team.

Thoughts guys?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haven't seen much of pre-season but he needs to work on his touch majorly. Think he's a year or two out from being the quality we require, but even then I don't see him as being more than a rotational player. Tbh I never really understood why we bought him but I hope he does well for us and proves me wrong.

Salah was a panic buy, we shouldn't have rushed into. I don't see how he is better than Thorgan Hazard or Piazon. We panicked, I think you can say Moses could play the role salah would this season, then again question marks on his signing. let's see how he fares in his first full season.

On the other hot topic, In my opinion if we don't get another striker before the window slams shut, we would have shot ourselves on the foot cause believe it or not Torres has gotten worse when it didn't seem like it was possible and if we thought five goals in the league was bad last season, he would give us something new to ponder on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers for the info. It's hard to believe Torres could get worse. But I do believe you, he was grap last season. I would like to see us sell Moses, Cech and loan Salah then bring in Cuadrado as he has goals in him. Think if we could do that then we would be in for a good shout. We have some top draw young players waiting in the wings too. A lot of folk saying if Oscar doesn't perform this season then he should be sold, I'm praying he does have a good season and then next term bring Paizon in as he rival for the number 10 jersey.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure if Cuadrado is worth the £30-40m figures that are being bandied about in the media. We could get Reus for a similar figure. Whilst Oscar is still young and has a lot of potential, I do think this season will make or break him. I'm not expecting him to score and assist every game etc but he needs to show consistency.
Torres, well we can't say much there. I'm forever holding out hope that he'll still move on this window but it's unlikely. As much as I hate to see Drogba injured, if he's out for a long time it could see us go in for another striker. Chicharito, Aubameyang or even Vela, as a HG option, would be my choices.

I don't think that salah is better than moyes but neither of those 2 are good enough for our team in my opinion. But anyway we need squad and we can't have biggest names in the football world to be sitting on our bench, so in my eyes one of them as a sub can be usefull just as a fresh energy on last 20 - 30 mins of them match

Agree0 Disagree0

Vela is a good shout. The HG factor is interesting in his case.

He was a top performer last night. He's got the gift of sprinting and he links well with fabregas. He's got what it takes another season and he will mature. His movement is pretty damn clever aswell. Say compared to Willians stupid positioning and movement. I don't get judging new players without bring up others like Willian. And to compare piazon and salah is completely wrong, thorgan yes put piazon, no. Piazon should be compared with fabregas and maybe Willian. And to be honest salah is what, 4th choice for the wing after hazard, schurrle and Willian. So he ain't a bad back up for that.

Some early reports that Drogba has ligament damage and will be out for upto 6 months. If this is true surely we can't go into the season with just Torres and Costa?

Early reports as in the one generated from a fake Twitter account? I guarantee tgat's where Marca got their story from too.

Cavani isn't all that. With his price tag and wage demand I think not. He is average at best. Falcao, Bony, Hernandez or Firmino for me all better options and with a lot of games this season and also costa ibjury recors would get a lot of time to impress. Hernandez the best option for me.
Getting the winner at old trafford.

The rumour came from a daily mail spoof account on twitter I think. I've heard that he'll be out for about 2 weeks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whatever the reports, my view is that it simply isn't wise and very strange given past couple of seasons to rely on Costa not getting injured, an ageing and possibly more injury prone as a result (I know I am!) Drogs, and low-scoring-in-league Torres. To win the league and compete on other fronts we surely need a reinforcement in this department.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wilfred bony. Premier proven . Third of cavani price.

Agree0 Disagree0

I guarantee that we will not be bringing in another striker without Torres leaving first, money and squad numbers prohibit it.
And anyway you are forgetting that Schurrle can play up front if need be, and so can Cesc (he has played there a lot for Barca and Spain).

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't want Cavani. But I do think there will only be a striker coming in if the club can move Torres to another club. IF (that's like the biggest if in the world) that happens, Bony would be my choice to replace him, been saying it for a while now.

Like many am still concerned with striker back ups to Costa, more so since Drogs went down clutching his ankle yesterday. I see we're being linked now to Cuadrado, who looked v.good in WC but perhaps more of a winger.

Perhaps done to death this question, but I'll risk it (cos things can change on daily basis): Do Eds know if we are still looking to bring in another striker even if Torres not moving, and who possibilities are.who's available? Thanks, and keep up great work.

Moses Is A Homegrown Player & There Is A Possibility That He Stays As A Squad Player. He Is Not A Bad Player, Just Got Lost In Too Many Managerial Changes Before Jose. He Played Very Well When Chelsea Were Playing In Europa League Under Benitez. He Can Be Useful Against Physical Teams Like Stoke.

Kurt Zouma Is Good Player At His Age, But Still Immature. Positioning Is Not Premier League Standard, Though Better Than David Luiz.

There Is A Chance That Chelsea Swap Oscar For Pogba+Money. Maybe Next Season, If Oscar Fails To Perform Well Rhis Season. This Year He Has Fabregas Competing For His Number 10 Place, Ginkel Can Also Play There, Willian Also, Salah Also. So He Must Start Firing Field Goals & Spot Kicks.

Salah Seems To Be Working Well On Fitness. His Confidence Also Growing. He Alongwith Baker, Piazon & Thorgan Hazard Are Bright Hopes For Chelsea Midfield.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mark my words:
Oscar will be out of this world this season. He has all the credentials, all he has to do is add the consistency to his game and I think Cesc's knowledge and playstyle will rub off on Oscar and he'll be a massive positive influence on the kid

Agree0 Disagree0

I Wish He Plays Well When He Plays. This Season He Has Fabregas, Ginkel, Salah & Even Moses To Share His Burden.

Agree0 Disagree0

KINGS XI, Salah and Oscar are the same age, Oscar is a much brighter talent.

And if pre-season is anything to go by Cesc will be playing next to Matic, not behind the striker.
