I know it was only his first game, but am I the only one who thought that Zappacosta looked way, way below the class of player that should be a member of our squad? Are we really saying that one of our young players is not at least as good as Zappacosta!?

I can't believe it, not even a full game and you slate him.

Agree Eli. Everyone should be given a proper go at it. I think his crossing will be awesome foe us. Im tired of seibg Moses battel to get the ball in hid right foot inorder to cross.

Very decent start of a season, 3 games won and 1 lost. Solid defending, good attacking. System exists. Hopefully squad depht will be satisfying.

This is one of the worst comments of the year, I don't know what you saw on TV but I was watching the game live. And I can say to you that guy did some great work, was constantly running back and forward and could have even scored.

LRDit, SHOULD have scored. To all, it is my first impressions and I hope I'm wrong of course; but, from what I saw, my first impression was of a player whose positioning was awful, who was lacking in pace, and whose first touch was below average for our level. I hope time proves me wrong (and if it doesn't then you will all hear about it! ) . Ps I was also at the game.

I was also at the game and really did not draw any impression about his performance one way or another BUT this shows how football is all about perception. Two people with completely opposite views of a player and with me I thought Fabregas was a dream for Morata in the first half but LRDit saw it differently. Football is a funny game but so are us supporters.

The biggest thing from yesterday was Kante stats. created most chances scored and was his usual self without once being out of position. it's as simple as bakyoko, Kante isn't covering for cesc or matic, he has a partner to help him. To break play up to win his own duels and not need help, baky not great on ball but not bad, will only improve once settled and bursts past players with ease ( again eating my words regarding him ) big game v Arsenal next week, except from Burnley where we slipped up had really tough start,

I don't think we'll use Cabellero in the Champions League, I think we'll wait for the FA Cup or EFL Cup - guess we'll have to wait and see :)

Think he will have stronger team to start get the result then make the changes to rest. But I wouldn't mind that team at all. they will just defend and have everyone behind ball, once one goal goes in flood gates will open.

Blinky, I'm sorry but that's ridiculous - what do we know about Qarabag? They've won every game in their league so far this season and beat Copenhagen over 2 leagues to get to the group stages of the Champions League. We underestimate them at our peril!

The team will be stronger than that.

Building relationships and consistency. It will be interesting to see who plays up front.

Decided having been at the game yesterday to make a few observations and ask question.
(a) Our bench yesterday looked strong.
(b) The referees in the premiership (except Michael Oliver) are truly awful.
(c) We will retain the title.
(d) Will Cahil play against Arsenal?

A) Our bench was strong as is the squad now, certainly an upgrade on last season.
B) The refs clearly lack leadership as the main problem seems to be inconsistency. If they all interpret the rules the same way I'm sure players, managers and fans would at least respect their decisions a little easier.
C) We have a good chance of retaining our title particuarly if Morata stays fit. I think it is a 3 way title race but I can see Jose imploding at Utd if things start to go against him so maybe us and City and I think we are more balanced than them so I would say yes. Chelsea for the title.
D) This is a big decision for Conte but one he has already demonstrated he can make. The guy is ruthless. Look at how he benched Branna and JT and got rid of Costa! I think Cahill might play on Tuesday in the Champions League and Rudiger keep his place against Arsenal.

I agree G8. I think for us, Tuesdays Champs league game comes at a good time.
Including Cahil we have players who need playing time and this should be an ideal match for the likes of Hazard, Zappacosta, Drinkwater and Christensen. Kennedy might also get some minutes!

Cahill shouldn't play against Arsenal but I fancy him and A. Christensen playing against Qarabag.

Since Cahill's suspension, our defence has being more stable with little or no mistakes imo. Considering the way Rudiger is playing, the best Cahill will offer Chelsea now is aerial threat during set pieces.
