Ed001, we recently talked about CHO, RLC and Reece's injuries and if it would affect the club's transfer plans. You said it's unlikely that the club buys any replacement players unless the injuries are career-ending.
But, if we don't buy players, would we risk a couple of months without having sufficient depth (like having only Azpi at RB), or would we bring in the fringe players like Bakayoko, Zappacosta, Kenedy back into the picture for the time being by not selling them?

I think people are getting a bit ahead of themselves when it comes to transfers, at the minute.

Just seen the rumoured price for Kovacic to start is at 50m Euros. I hope we don't just buy him for stupid money because we can.
If the ban does get frozen one player who is available who impressed me was Tielemans on loan at Leicester. Cracking young CM who is a very good passer of the ball and has a great long range shot. I'd like to see us get him if its frozen. We need to offload Bakayoko, Pasalic, Drinkwater and Van Ginkel as others in midfield anyway.

Truly, I wouldn't pay €50m for Kovacic but IMO, I think he's very much needed in this Chelsea midfield (the guy's versatility in our midfield trips me a lot- he can play DM, RCM, LCM; you see that this season when he replaced Jorginho, replaced Kante and replaced Loftus cheek/ Barkley) . Kovacic is very good in a 3-man central midfield and 2-man central midfield, so I think many managers will like him. The guy has good link up play, can keep possession, has good ball winning ability and has good box to box runs. Most of us keep judging or comparing him to a number 10, I don't think he's a perfect number 10 cos of the lack of goals and assists in his but I think he can hold his own. Conte is smart to want him at Inter Milan at the moment cos he's just an excellent utility midfielder to have in any squad.

It doesn't strike me like Kovacic is keen for the deal to happen. I believe he should prefer Chelsea and push for Chelsea deal than the clubs that are interested in him at the moment.
Although I think that if Chelsea really wanted to sign Kovacic they should have discussed Kovacic deal before the Hazard deal, I think it would have made Real Madrid value him for less than this reported €50m.
