The Chelsea scouting department did it for quite a long time and I did it in the last five or six months, and we made a collective decision to bring the kid here. " Was Mourinho scouting Van Ginkel for Real Madrid?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No. He has known he would be returning for a while before he did, and simply scouted a player he knew we were keen on

People, it seems MU lost Strootman to Roma. Possible good news for Chelsea.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

10 Jul 2013 23:11:22
Who cares about MU and Strootman and how is that supposed to be goodnews to us? I don't rate the lad anyway so it's rather bad news as they rather better without him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good because Roma sign stroootmAn and we sign de Rossi

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like alcantara off to Bayern as well, carrick s poor back looks like it will take another beating next season!

Ed018 welcome back. {Ed018's Note - I never left}

Ed018, the chelsea page has been great again over last couple of weeks, thanks for the great informative replies :-) {Ed018's Note - ha, must be a touch of sarcasm in there}

Think kalas will be part of the first team next and not loaned back out! :) be great to see players come through the youth system that we have invested good money on!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

U think or u read it?

Read it off the Chelsea website page

Keep Rooney we don't need him silly little man

I'm confused about Izzy Brown?
Has he signed or not?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Izzy Brown has been given permission to train & play with the Chelsea academy; he has gone on the tour to America with the other academy players. There has been no agreement between WBA and Chelsea in terms of the fee. it's looking likely it will go to tribunal.

Agree0 Disagree0

So its pretty much how it was when we first signed Daniel Sturridge?

Agree0 Disagree0

I Think that because he is not signed on to a pro contract (He is still at school) that a fee doesn't need to be agreed between the two clubs, but compensation is sometimes required to be paid to the losing club (West Brom) that is why he can play with our academy and be part of their pre-season tour without an agreed fee.

Why are people talking like Wayne Rooney is a option? Clearly united don't want to sell and Moyes has stated this twice. United aren't a club in need of cash.

Dan

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Maybe because he wants to leave

Out of all the players left available, football ability alone, Suarez would be the best fit for Chelsea. His ability to play off a main striker and play as a lone number nine is exactly what we need - I'd love to see him playing off Lukaku or Torres with Mata and Hazard. But is his ability on the pitch worth the attitude problems that will undoubtedly come with him.

I think the treatment of officials at Liverpool has only made his attitude worse. They have never dealt with him internally, the racial comments - dealt with by wearing of supportive t-shirts, the biting - should have been a club imposed ban straight away (like Ajax) but it wasn't dealt with. The way Liverpool has mollycoddled Suarez has only made things worse and with his current interviews on Uruguayan radio he's showing no respect for the club what so ever - they've only got themselves to blame. Would Chelsea treat him any differently? They could have dealt with the Terry racial incident a little better! I don't think even Mourinho could sort out Suarez's problems now.

Jovetic has the same qualities, to a slightly lesser standard, and would be a much better signing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Jovetic is so ovvverated! Looking at his goal scoring record + plus he is more of an attacking mid if u watch him play.

When you consider our midfield options I still feel we miss a Pirlo style playmaker.

Ramires (box to box)
Lampard (not really box to box anymore but not a playmaker)
Essien (see Lamps so could leave)
VanGinkel (unsure to be honest but I have read nothing that makes me believe he will dictate the tempo)
McEachran (as close to the player we need as we have but so far from the first team)
Ake (see VanGinkel)
Romeu (likely to leave)
Mikel (likely to leave)

The squad probably needs 6 midfielders, Lamps, Ramires, VanGinkel, Ake, McEachran so I see space for a playmaker. Shame its not Alonso.

Thoughts who we may end up with?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ake is a cb

mceachran is never going to cut it in the first team.

i believe romeu is going to Seville on loan although I am not 100%

mikel going galatasary

i would say we are in dire need of one or two proper CDM we don't need anther play maker of any sorts we have enough creative talent we need some brick walls to brake up the play in my opinion

i would love kondogbia reminds me so much of maka but rossi would also be a great purchase.

blueben

Agree0 Disagree0

Ake will probably go on loan, perhaps to Vitesse.

Jackson

Agree0 Disagree0

Mceachran is a class passer of the ball. Given game time he will be our very own alonso, also Oscar played deeper. What is everyone's obsession with ex pool players. And big signings. let's go and scout the next alonso or next South American superstar striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Blueben just likes big names to sign. And obviously doesn't realise mceachran is the best passer we have.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol he's useless he looked average for boro in the championship he isn't good enough for a top prem side and a cl team simple has mr no name

Blueben

Agree0 Disagree0

David Louis aswell

Agree0 Disagree0

Mceachran may not turn out to be world class, but he will be an excellent squad player for years to come. Grown up at Chelsea and counts as homegrown. He is still on 20 for goodness sake so give him so time anyway. jeez

Agree0 Disagree0

Blueben the biggest know it all on here. Mceachran was the best in championship unti January. Injury then illness ruined rest of season for him. Hints why boro lost a lot of games with him out. When he came back played out left wing, which ruined his game. You obviously only watched match of the day. Clearly clueless. Josh is a better passer of the ball than any player in our squad ATM. People slating a 20 year old but big up 24 year olds unbelievable. He's smaller and taken longer to develop.

Do your guys think el nino will shine this season or will torres come out again lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think most people are past caring now to be honest and would rather see him go!

Chelsea Nick

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres is still first choice striker at Spanish national team. And Spain is world and European champion.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we would sell him if we got a different manager for this season, but I think Mourinho still sees potential and wants to try and get him playing how he was at Liverpool. Don't forget, Mourinho tried to sign him in his first spell back in 2005 from Atletico. It could still work.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you 100%.

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres is good, he was awesome in confeds cup too, when was the last time we had a 30 goal a season striker anyway? A lot of our goals have always been from midfield and torres plays well even if he doesn't score

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't remember when Drogba or Shevchenko scored 30 goals per season. Last season was 3rd or 4th season when Lampard was best Chelsea scorer.

Agree0 Disagree0

In 06/07 Didier got 33, and in 09/10 he got 37, but I don't think any striker will be successful if we compare them to Didier.

There is nothing wrong with suarez remember zidan, in the world cup final and zlatan from psg when he was fighting press and getting red cards suarez is what we need not MR so so or even jovetic. rooney is a no go manunited is not arsenal rvp

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Drum it to their ears mate!
The list of Bad-ass players who were/are excellent on the pitch is endless: Zidane, Eric Cantona, Edmundo (animal) of Brazil, Rhisto Stoichkov, Rooney, Eden Hazard, and coaches too - Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho. They were/are all controversial in character but excellent on the pitch.
So Suarez is welcomed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez has not only racially abused a player, but has on two different occasions bitten an opponent. Then after his latest club gave him their complete support, he turned around and basically spat in their faces by publicly announcing he wanted to leave.

Why on earth would we want this player at our club?

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2013 15:15:10
coz he simply is the best player and comes in top 5 players in the world.
he would suerly hit 30+ goals, if banned or not. the lad is pure genius.
his work rate or commitment. would be 110% guaranteed.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think this could all be part of meeting the new financial regulations.
If you signed Suarez, when your other players came to the end of their careers they could simply be fed to Suarez to cut down on catering costs and you would at least get one cup-for re-cycling!LOL

Agree0 Disagree0

Still no reason for him at Chelsea. WE all need to see past what player bring to the pitch - and a little more about their morals and what they bring to the clubs reputation.

I don't care is Suarez is the best player on the planet by a fair distance - I still don't want him at Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because Liverpool r not good enough for him and he knows it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez is symptomatic of what is wrong with football. He is a genius on the pitch but has no moral fibre and sets an appalling example to kids watching. He gets paid more in a week than most of us who pay to watch football earn in a year and he has no allegiance to any club. Sure he kisses his badge when scoring but he does so for every team that he plays for. He has shown no real remorse for his disgusting behaviour on the pitch. Compare him with Bobby Charlton or Bobby Moore who are true legends for their performances and behaviour. It is about time that english football got rid of such prima donnas as Suarez. Chelsea have had enough problems with the behaviour of some of their players. I really hope they don't drag our club down by signing Suarez. It is about time we acted with some class.

In today's kit number update van ginkel was wearing #16 and Wallace was without a number and then wearing #32.

Tk

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Moses should jog on and van ginkel be 13.

Agree0 Disagree0

What number is De Bruyne?

JMJW

Kdb got the #15 also I saw kalas was wearing #33 and chalobah had #37 on.

Cheers TK, I remeber the other day some-one stated that Schurrle (I think) had Kdb's number 14 shirt, and I was just curious to know what shirt he now had, thanks.

The deal for Mark Schwarzer is possibly the smartest transfer we could've pulled off. He is free, good backup to Cech, classed as a home grown player (due to him playing here for more than 15 years) and only here for a year which won't hinder Courtois when he returns and best of all we didn't have to splash £10mil+ for Ruddy. Now if we can get ourselves a world class striker maybe Suarez (even though he is a prat he is practically the only striker left out there that can help us challenge for titles). Would be sweet if we nicked Higuain away from Arsenal but I doubt that will happen. Also maybe a deal for the youngster Bruma from Portugal who I've heard nothing but good things about him.
Can't wait guys. Under 40 days to go I think. COYB!
Talberto

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I really hate it when people say 'he is the only striker out there'. There is so much hidden talent out there and some of you don't realise it. Benteke was a no-name to me and I bet a few others before he moved to villa from genk. So many players may be able to supply goals and you might not have ever heard of them. There is no point wasting so much money on a player that is overpriced when you can get 5 players for the same amount. Let chelsea handle the situation. They are the ones with vast amounts of sources and knowledge where they can distinguish the good players from the great. I trust the team will not make a stupid move for Suarez because he is a cheat and, a quote I very much liked, a "mercenary of the game". I don't want this type of player ever at our team. Disgraceful player and can pretty much only start fresh at another league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with the Schwarzer deal, absolutely brilliant piece if business. This guy is proven at EPL level and will be a great benefit to the younger players at the club with his attitude and experience. Well done to whoever got him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Alpha I agree with you completely. When I was writing this post I was cringing at the possibility of Suarez coming here. I'd love to see the rare 'gems' at the club such as El Shaarawy and Pato etc. but the point I'm making is would these younger less experienced players be able to handle pressure and score 30-40+ goals a season. Suarez I believe is the last man out there who can do that for us I think. Also Lukaku I think would be great backup in cup games (FA cup Carling Cup) and the 10 games Suarez misses.

Now can we just sign SUAREZ and stop this strike chase once and for all? To think that Suarez and Lukaku would be compatible is mouth-watering.
Bas!cs.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No, no, no and again no.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2013 07:06:43
Suarez will suit us perfectly well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes yes and again yes. Can you stop being pathetic about Suarez? Do you want a player that can give you the premiership and possibly the champions league? His attitude can be sorted. His talent cannot be found easily.

Agree0 Disagree0

We can sign him only if he wants to come to Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

With all the contraversy over the last few years is he really what chelsea want. his ability is obvious but I don't think he would suit your club he really would be better off away from england. yes everyone could do with his goals but at what cost he is a proven goalscorer but he has proved time and time again he isn't a professional. he WILL bite again

dave

Agree0 Disagree0

You talk sense Dave. Any1 wanting him is as plastic as they get, don't pay attention to football and probably started supporting Chelsea May 2012. So many more players out there, with far less issues.
