From what ive seen on the player and from what i have read i would prefer us to try and go after Lucas Moura instead of Oscar, £20m seems a lot for a 20yr old no-one had heard of a week ago before AVB was appointed at spurs. Moura has proven his talents and skills in Brazil for 2/3 seasons now, he is a recognized winger/cam with great pace and skill, i don't want us paying £20m for an unknown talent that looks sub-par in comparison to Moura, just my opinion.

Hes hardly unheard of..he's been in the brazil team for the last couple of games. Honestly my preference would be Oscar.

No offense m8 but no one using these forums would have known who he was 1 week ago, if you go on youtube you can find 50 videos of players who have had a good u16, u17, u19 championships saying the new Messi or Pele or Ronaldo. All im saying is Moura is a year younger and to be more experienced and fills a greater need on the wing of this Chelsea team instead of another light weight CM.

Thats not true…i love watching brazil play because they effectively use there U23 sqaud and Oscar has been at the heart of it for a bit and hes looked class. Maybe not everyone on here will have heard of him before but i know i wont be the only one. I think hes started like the last 4 games or something whereas Moura has come on as a sub in most of them.

If chelsea signs oscar what does that mean for piazon and mceachran?

All 3 play in diffrent midfield positions

Carefree is right. mceachran oscar totally different. piazon is also but similar in a way

If we sign this Oscar chap he might not even get a look in next year, I mean we paid £18m for Lukaku and he hardly got a chance.

Im no expert or anything but IMO chelsea need to hurry up signing their more attacking targets. In the past i have noticed, especially with us now playing 4-2-3-1, that the '3' takes a lot of time to gel. The more pre season time and games they have to do this the better our chances of a quick start to the season, unlike last year. Leave the right back situation till last IMO get on with signing the fancy players such as Shurrle, Oscar, Hulk or whoever they may be.

Although saying that RA is still a Chelsea legend and we must appreciate everything he does for us. Never know, in the future we may have a different owner and different system. 1 word: Arsenal

I hope the Oscar deal goes through as he is a very talented young player as is hazard and Marin and for me the key word is young and I hope the striker search goes the same way.
One player that caught my eye last year was Leandro Damiao surs showing interest

Hey Guys, ESPN have just said this:

"ESPN understands that Chelsea have
agreed a fee with Internacional for Brazil
midfielder Oscar"

"The Blues are now closing in on the playmaker's signature after a fee of 25
million was accepted by the player's club

An ESPN source said: "Nothing is signed
but a deal in principle is agreed for 25

Its true, espn are running with this story on thier website. Not sure if this is a new development or they are just repeating earlier news. 25 million euros is the price they are quoting. Im hopeful but still a touch pessimistic. Fingers crossed though

Jm10. I said that Chelsea agreed a fee on priniciple for 90% of Hulks playing rights. I not gonna get into this again. Just Google it and there will numerous articles about it.

Anyway, didnt you say we sign Hulk within the next 24 hours a while back?

Ahhh, fair enough. But just know that I also dont claim that we have signed Hulk. Ive just explained what I have claimed. Maybe if Chelsea sort out this issue and sign Hulk, the press will explain what took soo long (about the part-ownership issue). The fact is that you have no right to suggest that what Im saying are lies as you yourself admit that you have no sources.

Juan Mata & Frank Lampard's fb pages believe we have signed oscar for £25 millio, as does the daily mail.
Don't particularly trust either of these sources so looking for some conformation on here?

Don't think we need Oscar considering that we have Lucas Piazon who plays almost identical to Oscar. Granted that Oscar is a better players but Piazon is two years younger and the signing of Oscar would yet again show that Chelsea are neglecting their youthful players.

Oscar is 20, he is a youngster! We need the best talent in the world and if Oscar is one of them then brilliant lets have him.

Chelsea don't just need a starting 11, we need players that can come of the bench and change games, and come in for players with injuries. Therefore if we sign the people we are after we will have Marin, Hazard, Mata, Oscar, Piazon, De Bruyne and Hulk. To me, that is incredible strength in depth and one of the best attacking midfields of all time.

If you gave seen Oscar play for Brazil you would not question this signing, if it is a signing. IMHO he is almost up there with Neymar as Brazil's greatest young talent and I would certainly rate him ahead of Hulk in terms of talent. I also like Piazon, but if CFC are really to mount sustained challenge on several fronts we need world-class talent in depth. Adding Oscar to our attacking/creative midfield strength would be wonderful! VBS

It's not as if Chelsea have just a starting eleven when we have Hazard, Malouda, De Bruyne, Marin, Mata, Piazon and potentially Ramires in attacking midfield positions....

The lads trying to say that this signing would push Piazon down the pecking order. Which he's right about.

Piazon will be better than Oscar in time and he won't be down the pecking order as Oscar can play on the right ,in the midfield and also on the left where as Piazon mostly plays on the left.Oscar will be good for us.

You are all looking at this the wrong way, picture piazon being the replacement for lampard and oscar for the outgoing mereiles, these two linking up will be better than xavi and iniesta.

Piazon is a completely different position to Lampard. Haha made urself look like a plonk.

Piazon is more of a central attacker more like a mata....oscar plays right-left-central...more like a hazard

The fact of the matter is that with the arrival of Oscar Piazon will have less minutes on the pitch as a result.

If piazon is good enough he will play dont matter who we sign, if hes going to be a top top player he will force his way into a good team same as rooney ,messi,ronaldo,and fabregas,all did,basically if he is great he will play same as these guys, if he is just ok not to bad then he will be back up simple, dont bring sentiment to football, just what best for the whole club roman down to supporters !

Shut up you chief, piazon plays cam or behind the strikers lampard plays cam or behind the strikers.

i believe if chelsea can confirm the signing of oscar, it will be marvelous for the club. fantastic talent and a key member of the brazil olympic team and just only 20. great feet on the ball. far better than ganso for me. oscar, hulk, azpiculeta, jovetic, hope they all sign. great squad, great team. come next season, the european supercup, community shield, world club championship, premier league and maybe the champions league again all coming to the bridge. exciting times for all chelsea fans, cannot wait really for the season to start. chelsea 4 ever.

Di Matteo is a typical italian manager he likes the Brazilians well i do too think they are iduvidually the best players in the world not saying Brazil are better then spain just saying as INDUVIDUALS.

Well ,no not even individually they can match the Spainish.No way,not even close.The Spanish are the best players in so many top teams its unbelievable.

Oscar ?!?! :D Hopefully men , he looks grea and scored a hat trick in the 2010 u20 world cup Final :D beaten spurs to it :D
