I'm told the Chelsea kids have put on a very impressive performance tonight. Well done Andy Myers and his coaching team.

More fantastic Youngsters to come through the system.

Ed Brand coaches the youth team Andy Myers is now responsible for the U23 development squad.
Might sound odd but it was a performance defined by a really poor Wolves side who looked way out of there depth possibly because they had a few 16yo playing.
This isn't a group that contains players that look the quality of James/ Mount/ Tammy/ Ruben/ Clifford.
Anjorin maybe but his physique makes it easy at youth level so until he is tested against men on a regular basis its difficult to know.

My mistake Turvey.

As I said, I was told we had played well but you have given a very good assessment of our performance and the quality of the opposition.

They are only kids and they have a long journey in front of them but I live in hope.

Turvey, that is incredibly harsh. Wolves themselves are no mugs and we just simply blew them away. You mentioned Anjorin, but what about Ian Maatsen, Marcel Lewis and Lewis Bate who I all thiught were superb. You mention Wolves looking out of their depth because of a younger squad- Chelsea had more 16 year olds playing than them.
And why is Clifford in the list with the above?
It's time to accept that like it or not, we have top prospects at every single age group and are rightly now the dominant team in youth football in England, maybe worldwide.

Hopefully in 3 years we will have a proper defensive midfielder then Loftus-Cheek and Anjorin either side of him. The technicality and power WOW 🤩.

I can't believe anyone who saw last nights match can think that Wolves were anything other than being way out of there depth.
Cundy commented on the very same issue infact
I have been watching Chelsea youth teams since Roman arrived at the club and seen hundreds of talented kids fail to develop into even PL footballers never mind chelsea first team regulars.
RLC has ongoing injury problems which make it unlikely he will reach his full potential and Anjorin has been somewhat injury prone as well regettably.
Being a very talented youth team player rarely translates into success at the top level this isn't a criticism just a reality.

With regard to Connor I think he will be the next player to break into the first team squad maybe as early as next season in place of Barkley.
