Any stadium updates?

Yea it's shut.

Yes club have said nothing planned in the forseeable future.
Cant see how it will ever add up given the complexity of the site.
The only way forward would be a new site outside the immediate area which is unlikely to be approved by the Pitch Owners.

As CPO I would vote, reluctantly, to leave The Bridge if a suitable and viable alternative could be found.

A suitable plan had been made for the current footprint. The club detailed the current financial climate for the reason why they postponed.

There's no doubt our owners current visa situation played a part, why spend so much on a stadium he can't attend.

Thats interesting and sensible position Tom but I am not sure if that is reflected by the majority of shareholders.
The cost of developing the stadium must be significantly north of £1 billion by now and it won't get any cheaper that's for sure.
Finding a site anywhere locally is tough unless we are prepared to move to Old Oak Common for example.

{Ed002's Note - That is not the issue.}

The current financial climate is a strange excuse given the cost of borrowing is so low.
Likewise I don't think RA situation is the deal breaker either.
The core reason is the complexity and cost of the development which is prohibitive and unlike any other stadium in the world.

{Ed002's Note - That is not the issue. Just move on.}

Ed002 any truth we are bidding high for lautaro, i know you said before we've been interested, any truth and do we still want him thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what “bidding high” means. I have explained that Chelseahas an interest.}

02 Apr 2020 14:17:09
sorry ed report said that Barcelona very interested but chelsea have put a much better offer to inter close to the clause, would be a brilliant signing but i doubt we will pay that much or he would turn down Barcelona unfortunately.

02 Apr 2020 19:53:01
He's my number one pick of all the options (Werner, M. Dembele and Lautaro) in the market. I really wish Chelsea signs him.

02 Apr 2020 23:20:46
I read someone’s opinion saying his suited to being in a two up front and struggles up too alone, been good with lukaku the very little I’d seen.

03 Apr 2020 12:52:01
I would love it, just love it, if we got Lautaro Martinez but, unfortunately, he'll move to Barca.

Still, it does show that we're looking to buy the best again after a few years of Drinkwater / Zappacosta / Bakayoko / Moses / Alonso / Emerson / Barkley / Giroud / Batshuiyi.

Agree0 0Disagree

03 Apr 2020 20:05:46
Alonso moses won us the league
Giroud scored very important goals in winning europa league last uear
Bit rude.

04 Apr 2020 09:21:37
The only buys that didn't suit the team are Drinkwater, Zappacosta and Bakayoko.

04 Apr 2020 12:03:49
gianfranco gola, are Alonso or Moses World class? Remember the good old days when we used to buy World class LBs like Ashley Cole and World class wingers like Arjen Robben?! Hopefully those days are back.

Hello Ed, how's life in isolation? Any truth in our reported interest in Donarumma? Many reports about chelsea being interested in him.
Hope you and the family is doing great.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has not made any decision over changing goalkeepers at this time and have a bunch they have considered if tehy do decide to make a change. If Donnarumma were to be available he would be one of interest.}

30 Mar 2020 16:49:11
ed002 any truth we enquired about hakimi thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Achraf Hakimi (RB/RM) will only leave to return to Real Madrid they if look to the market for a Carvajal replacement or can guarantee game time. And that is unlikely with Odriozola being first choice. BD want him to stay for a third year on loan and if RM move for Haaland then then he could form part of the deal and make a permanent move. There is interest from Bayern Munich.

If Chelsea were to look to move Reece James on then it makes some sense.}

30 Mar 2020 19:46:55
Ed002, are Real already looking at putting a package in place for Haaland?

{Ed002's Note - Yes. They are.}

Agree0 0Disagree

31 Mar 2020 15:41:40
Fine player Hakimi is, i won't be surprised if someone decides to buy him as a Right Winger (I think he can play very well as a right winger) .

be a pointless signing for chelsea given the emergence of reece james.

If the figures for Sancho are anywhere near accurate, steer well clear. No player at any age is worth what is being banded about.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

30 Mar 2020 16:58:22
If Ronaldo or Messi at 21 had been the same asking price as Sancho, would it have been a good buy?

Agree0 0Disagree

30 Mar 2020 19:46:05
No because no player is worth the obscene figures being spent. £400k a week, £120m+ salary. It has big monet flop plastered all over it.

Agree0 0Disagree

30 Mar 2020 21:00:41
I think the question that you might want to ask yourself is- if Sancho was your player, would you demand for such a fee? I think someone (the supplier or the 'demander') might have to soft-pedal at some point. If Sancho is so good that he can take Chelsea to the next level (Eldorado), then we should buy him cos there are no good cheap players anymore.

Agree0 0Disagree

30 Mar 2020 21:59:51
No good cheap players anymore? Not sure how you've come to that conclusion.

Yes, every good player in the market is expensive.

01 Apr 2020 12:14:32
With exception to high agent fees or a weekly wage of £400,000/ week (if true), I don't think €110m (£99m) - as quoted by Fabrizio Romano is too much for a young player that has shown promise like Sancho.

01 Apr 2020 12:46:19
i think for his age an talent hed be worth a gamble i no u mite laugh when i call it a gamble for the price but he's a gem.

I have a hard time stating that any hypothetical number would be egregious when it comes to a 20 year old player who is already elite.

I don't believe Duncan castles with the links with us to Gabriel of Lille but we have been linked with him before.

Can anyone mind to tell me how good he is? I've only seen YouTube clips but that's not fair to judge. I like the fact he's left footed. Can't remember last time we had a left footed centre back.

{Ed002's Note - Gabriel Magalhaes (CB) Lille didn't want to sell in January although Arsenal pushed - the player has signed a new contract but Arsenal could look to him in again the summer if they do not sign Mari. Lazio have made their interest known as the seek a replacement for Luiz Felipe (CB) but he is not their first choice - although their first choice may well be heading elsewhere. Napoli know that they may lose Kalidou Koulibaly (CB) in the summer and have an interest in the player. Southampton and Everton have both sent scouts to watch the player with Everton notifying Lille that they are very interested in taking the player in the summer. Prior interest of PSG was thought to have gone with their financial issues limiting their ability to spend without sales - but it may just be back.

Chelsea have looked at many CBs and are certainly not focussed on GM right now.}

I’ve seen that before on the Everton and arsenal pages but appreciate it anyway Ed? Have you seen much of him as a player and if he would improve us?

{Ed002's Note - He is not a player Chelsea have any focus on.}

Everyone can tell it’s him G8 mate, what I don’t understand is why the Ed’s let him comeback every time with a different handle doing the same thing over and over again. Then we all act shocked about the insults when it is literally done by the same person with different names. It is sad that he can sit behind his keyboard and ruin the community over and over and over again just by creating a new “persona” . Something has to be done it’s just not right, not normal.

King Frank or whatever you go by this time of the day, hope you realize you have a serious problem. Anyways hope everyone is safe we’ve been on lock down here in France and will be for another two weeks . Try ale care of yourselves lads.

{Ed001's Note - and we can only tell its him when he starts doing it. So don't start blaming us when there is nothing we can do. We don't hack your webcams to see if it is the same person. We don't ask for proof of ID or anything like that which could risk the information being stolen. IP addresses are no longer static and change regularly, so there is no real way to stop someone coming back. All we can do is delete the imbecile every time he reveals himself.}

Agree0 0Disagree

29 Mar 2020 12:28:00
Wasn’t blaming anyone anyone Ed001, I do admit it might have come across that way, I think it’s fair to say 95% of the insults on here are caused by the same individuals, you ask any regular on here we could tell it was him after his very first post.

Goes without saying how much time and effort you all put in on all the sites, which is appreciated so I wouldn’t expect you to keep watch of every single individual who enjoys trolling, but what I meant by “coming back” was more or less letting his opinion do damage thus stopping your input or that of Ed002, or any other person’s time on here for that matter when it’s pretty obvious it’s the same Individual.

I do realize that everyone does more than enough on here, I mean I have been an active poster for over the last decade, my first post was me only hoping that posers like KingFrank and a couple others don’t ruin it for myself and the other lads. It has been a recurring theme, lost a couple of good posters as well because of the toxicity of the minority who stop Ed002 from being on here, and I don’t blame him and I don’t blame the posters who left as well and I sure don’t blame you or any other Ed. I’m simply just trying to point out that perhaps if posts like his weren’t let to mare and dent the majority that would be great. I like a good banter back when we weren’t as much on here me and a few other posters used to visit the other pages all in the name of “good banter” so I’ll never be put off by that but there is a limit and he has crossed it more than once as thus his opinion on here can’t be taken seriously.

Obviously, I guess I could have phrased that a lot better in the previous post but being on here for so long seeing the same thing occur every single year becomes rather irksome. Thanks for your hard work and hope you’re taking care of your self and your loved ones.

{Ed001's Note - no worries mate, I wasn't irked or anything, sorry if it came across at that. This is an issue that we would love to find a fix for too. If we could find one, trust me he would not be back any more. We don't mind giving people second chances, but some people just don't learn and we wish we could find a way to block them for good.}

Hi everyone, hope you’re all safe and healthy in these strange times. To ed001, I don’t think Eli meant for it to sound like he was blaming the eds, just more that he wishes there was something could be done to prevent him from coming back over and over. I appreciate and I’m sure Eli and the other reasonable posters also appreciate that if there was something you could realistically do you would.

Anyways guys, whilst we’re in this strange time of isolating and being forced to stay inside, why not liven the page up a bit with some posts about Chelsea’s history- favourite players etc. Or who you’d like to see signed or just about anything to keep each other entertained. I’ll try think of some over the coming days.

Let’s hope for some positive news soon and normal life to resume.

{Ed001's Note - I am as frustrated as him and that was all that was. I wasn't meaning it as a dig at him either. It is really annoying for us to have to deal with these repeat offenders. When we first started you could block an IP and they would be gone for months.}

29 Mar 2020 14:14:25
Cheers Ed001 mate and Saim as well .

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate, sorry if it came across as I was having a dig at you. Again just general frustration with the situation that has been getting worse over the years.}

I’ve lost track of the different names he or she has used.
As I always say the funniest moments are when he answers his own posts under a different name. It comes as no surprise he agrees with himself.

Strange person!

Keep safe everyone!

26 Mar 2020 14:08:17
Ed002 a lot of reports that were watching Marash Kumbulla and going to bid, any truth thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Marash Kumbulla (CB) is one of a number of young centre backs that Chelsea has looked at. Approaches have been made to Verona by Lazio and Inter. Bayern Munich have watched him on several occasions. Premier League clubs including Chelsea and Manchester Unitred have been looking at him but there is no plan for the player to leave Italy at this point in time according to his representative. Inter have put together a package that includes other players.}

Quite similar to Christensen in some ways but can develop to become more fearless and combative than Christensen. I think he can replace Christensen.

{Ed002's Note - In answer to the previous question Chelsea has not made any approach to Ajax or his agent. They have other targets as I have explained.}
