ed001 is there truth that we are inteested in atal and will bid once we are able to sign players thanks.

{Ed001's Note - interest is there yes, but I can't say if there will be a bid.}

Won't it be weird if we sold Azpi, Ed? If Willian, Giroud, Azpi, Alonso all leave, Pedro, Jorginho, Kante and Caballero will be the only senior players left.

{Ed001's Note - I wouldn't expect him to be sold just yet, but clubs can always buy senior players.}

Aah I see. Personally, I think we will try for a winger, a LB, a CB and a Striker + Sancho if he is available.

LB/ LWB- Gaya; RB/ RWB- Atal; CF- Icardi/ Mousa Dembele; LW/ RW- Bailey/ Neres/ Sancho (left footer preferable) ; CB- Ruben Dias/ Upacameco; DM/ CM- Bruno Guimaraes/ Florentino Luis - won't be a bad addition to any squad.

You won't win anything with this squad.

Save money and keep Emerson. been brilliant so far. And use Maatsen as understudy. bailey / Neres haven’t kicked on really and Neres is a show pony and would get folded up in the prem league. Icardi is trouble and his wife’s trouble from all accounts, Dias / upcameco would be brilliant, DM I don’t know about this Brazilian kid or read anything. Ruben neves is still very young and is close to cesc with long passes, or the future star aouar would be probably as expensive as neves buying from a rival team, sancho is the must buy. the hazard replacement. not as quick as people make out but 1v1 is world class and end product to match, young English and would no doubt adapt well with Mount RLC CHO James etc, striker is dembele all day long, and team of
Kepa
Atal ( James )
Rudiger ( Zouma )
Upcameco ( Christensen )
Emerson ( Maatsen )

Kante ( Ampadu )
Aouar ( neves )

Sancho
Pulisic
Cho

Dembele

Add to that mount / RLC / Tammy to attacking options or 3 midfielders or whatever would compete, plus Steve Holland back or someone in back room to really work on defence side of things. Young team and exciting, but £££,

My ins:

Dembele
Sancho
Romagnoli
Atal

Outs:

Giroud
Batshuayi
Willian (Keep Pedro as 4th choice for cup games.
Moses
Kenedy
Van Ginkel
Drinkwater
Barkley
Bakayoko
Baba
Alonso
Zouma
Zappacosta
Azpi

Senior or not I’d sell Azpi if we can be ruthless and get a good fee for him. Sell the rest of the loan players too and get them off the books for good. It’s good to have quality players in each position.

My XI:

Kepa

Atal Rudiger Romagnoli Emerson

Kante Jorginho Loftus-Cheek

Sancho Dembele Hudson-Odoi

Subs:

Caballero
Christensen
James
Kovacic
Mount
Pulisic
Abraham

Ed001, reports from Brazil say that Chelsea have sent scouts for a FIFTH time to scout Bruno Guimaraes? Would you know anything about that?

{Ed002's Note - As a special treat, there is nothing new in this. Bruno Guimaraes (DM/CM) Shakhtar Donetsk have been in discussions with the representative of the player (who they have a close relationship to) and Athletico Paranaense but the asking price is proving to be a major stumbling block. Napoli, Chelsea, Marseille (as a Gustavo replacement) and Kashima Antlers (who are competely out of the picture) have also a declared interest.}

12 Sep 2019 19:42:12
Ed002, I have heard that he has a 40m euro release clause. If Chelsea are unwilling to meet that price, are we not looking at him for an immediate first team role?

{Ed002's Note - What is the relevance of a "release clause" to Chelsea?}

Agree0 0Disagree

12 Sep 2019 19:49:37
That would be the maximum possible fee Chelsea have to pay, right?

{Ed002's Note - No, they can charge whatever they wish to Chelsea. There are different types of clauses that perhaps has not been explained for a while - remind me later and I will elucidate.}

ed surely atletico madrid should be on the list as been said that they negotiated a first option clause at €30m when thet got Lodi, is that right? thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Yes you can add Atletico but you will have to explain what a “first option clause” is.

Youcef atal linked, £35m, from what I read he was really good last season. And would be a top player, But his a RB, Azpi, James and now linked to atal. Not sure this one has legs to be honest imo, other positions need addressing,

Believable0 0Unbelievable

10 Sep 2019 21:17:38
Makes complete sense that we are linked to Atal. Solid player, I would love Atal and James at RB, maybe it's about time Azpilicueta joined a slower league- his performances since last season has being depreciating.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 Sep 2019 09:08:32
Football has evolved so much; to have a good defense and attack, I think wing defenders (that is 2s' and 3s') should be able to play as both fullbacks (defend) and wingbacks (attack) on the pitch. Make no mistake, I have complete respect for Azpi and his achievements for Chelsea, but I would rather sell him now that he still has some value and reinvest the cash from his sale in a player like Youcef Atal (that fits the description of a player being a fullback and wingback) ; and if Azpi doesn't want to leave, I think he should be moved to central defense (cos his pace has depreciated for a modern day rightback- who should defend very well and be able to go forward when need be) . A modern day wing defender should be like Emerson or Cancelo.
Besides Atal can play left back too.

Agree1 0Disagree

11 Sep 2019 09:27:20
Cracking player. We need quality depth regardless of James and Emerson. Atal and Telles would be great.

Agree1 0Disagree

11 Sep 2019 09:29:40
Bring in Atal to compete with Reece for RB and move Azpi to LB. Sell Alonso to make room. Atal can also play on the wings so he'd be a excellent buy for me.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 Sep 2019 13:30:09
Emerson’s doing more than good enough at LB, Azpi has become easy to beat and complacent - imagine that’s be even worse out of position. Agree strength in depth just hope it doesn’t affect Reece James.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 Sep 2019 14:33:45
I still think Azpi should be moved to CB alongside Rude.

Agree2 0Disagree

11 Sep 2019 15:51:23
Azpi is on the decline anyway and Christensen is far better on the ball and in the air. Azpi should be 2nd choice RB or emergency rotation at CB at best. Tbh id even prefer to see Tomori start RB against Wolves.

Sources hinting at following Chelsea targets, when the ban ends I suppose.

- Jadon Sancho
- David Neres
- Ben Chilwell
- Nathan Ake
- Moussa Dembele (Lyon striker)

I don't see the top level ability in Neres. Highly skilled technically, but I don't think he's got enough about his game other than tricks and dribbling.

Sancho would be a dream, but let's not kid ourselves here. We won't get him. Too expensive, and will probably have his pick of clubs when he decides to leave.

Chilwell I don't see the need for as Emerson's showing how good he can be. Hard to see Chilwell coming to be a backup, or us spending the money that'd be needed to get him on a rotation player.

Ake I'd only be a fan of if he's brought in as a DM. As a CB I think he's just not good enough for a team with CL aspirations. But as a DM I still think he can be really good.

Finally Moussa Dembele. He'd be one of my top targets as well next summer. We'll need a new striker with Giroud and Batshuayi probably both leaving, and Morata as well to Atletico permanently. He's a very good all around striker, and together with Tammy he'd make for a very good strike force.

I didn't mean to disrespect him :) indeed, CarefreeYouth is the one that posted this, and he usually knows his stuff. I don't have twitter, but his account is probably one of the 2 or 3 I sometimes check.

Didn't mention his name as I didn't want him to get stick on here for being a twitter source (as sometimes info from twitter gets a bit ridiculed on these sites; often with reason, but I do trust CarefreeYouth) .

Bit of chatter in today’s press that Chelsea are putting feelers out in respect of transfers for January, in other words some are suggesting the ban will be reduced to one window.
If, and a big if that is the case, I would not be at all surprised if there were to be one probably two incomings but to facilitate that several would leave likewise leave.

As for the players listed in the OP.
Sancho. Time will tell but I personally believe if CHO can be tied down and regains fitness he has as much potential as Sancho.
Chillwell is interesting and has the benefit of being HG. I personally like him as a player .
Neres. Don’t know a lot about him but not too sure the sort of position and indeed the type of player he is said to be is an area where we need to be looking at as a priority.
Dembelle. Yes please.

no idea why were are always linked to ake, no better than anything we have. Neres is lightweight and wouldn’t cope, Chilwell is good but why spend the money when Emerson is doing very well, and sancho anc dembele are must haves but would never leave in January.

Ed002, are Chelsea looking to buy any GKs to act as a 2nd or a 3rd deputy to Kepa?
If not, which GKs from the academy are thought of highly enough to take on the role?

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea have Willy Caballero and Jamie Cumming as "spares" right now and had no plans to buy a goalkeeper in the summer if it were not for them accepting the ban. Both Rob Green and Eduado were expected to leave but an issue arose wth the departure of Marcin Bulka who the club had great hopes for. JC will continue to play for the U23s so there is no pressing need. It is nothing to do with the academy.}

Believable0 0Unbelievable

05 Sep 2019 16:04:38
Is JC the most highly rated amongst our academy group and loanees, Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Why do you always ignore the U23s? Players are not "rated" against each other like that.}

Agree0 0Disagree

05 Sep 2019 16:48:06
Sorry Ed. Usually when I say academy, I mean both the U-23s and the U-18s.

Still a bit sad when I think about Bulka leaving. I can see him becoming one of the world's best GKs.

Agree0 0Disagree

06 Sep 2019 18:29:14
Why did he leave? Did he want out?

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea have a policy of not making promises to any players. They very much wanted to keep him but there are no promises, and if players decide they wish to move on they will not stand in their way - but they will say they want them to stay.}

Agree0 0Disagree

06 Sep 2019 20:36:09
Ed, out of curiosity, did PSG make him any promises? Because it did seem like he'll get to play because he started in the last league game, but now PSG have brought in both Sergio Rico and Keylor Navas close to the deadline day.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, that is why he left.}

Hi all

Does anyone know if Hudson odio will likely sign when fit or has that ship sailed?

Cheers.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

29 Aug 2019 16:56:53
I think he's very much expected to sign, and has been for a while now. But I have no clue what the holdup is if true.
Maybe they're waiting for him to get fit again?

Agree0 0Disagree

30 Aug 2019 13:11:44
If he hasn't signed a new contract, we shouldn't play him until he does.

Agree0 0Disagree

30 Aug 2019 14:30:15
So, NOT playing CHO would make him sign a contract?

I think he will sign a new contract and as long as we are paying his wages we should play him!

If he hasn’t signed by the next window we then review our options!

Agree1 0Disagree

30 Aug 2019 17:23:26
I mean we did sign Pulisic and have kept Pedro and Willian, if he’s playing and getting game time when he’s back fit he will resign, If he doesn’t get played he’ll look elsewhere.

Agree0 0Disagree

31 Aug 2019 09:23:40
The thought that he is going to sign after his injury heals is quite funny does he write with his feet
As much as I like him it's setting a dangerous precident what has he actually done to warrant his demands if true
I think it's a gamble myself.

Agree0 0Disagree

31 Aug 2019 11:23:46
I’m not happy he hasn’t signed a new contract but I’m still hopeful.

If he is fit and impresses in training then we should play him. If he hasn’t signed by the next window we can reconsider our options!

Agree0 0Disagree

01 Sep 2019 08:43:32
Jeez, you lot are intense!

Take a look at his social media, everything says.

'I'm signing for Chelsea, we're just waiting for the right time. '

Matt Law confirms this.

I suspect that the right time will be soon, perhaps in the international break?

Agree0 0Disagree

04 Sep 2019 17:14:12
You would imagine it's because he wants assurances that he will be playing first team football and he can only do that if he's fit. If Chelsea play him he doesn't need to move.

Agree0 0Disagree

07 Aug 2019 16:22:38
I don’t like these David Luiz rumours. Refusing to train to force through a move to Arsenal. This seems odd in a few ways, very late in the window, arsenal are a rival and don’t have champions league football and I’ve always thought Luiz was loyal to us and loved the club despite celebrating against us. We certainly don’t have the squad depth to let him go.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

07 Aug 2019 16:30:19
No rumours; Matt Law seems to have confirmed it.

Agree0 0Disagree

07 Aug 2019 16:37:09
David luiz scored the winning goal v us in champions league and went absolutely mental ( as he should of ) and now refused to train to get his move, if this is the case I imagine it’s because he knows his not a regular starter under frank with Zouma back and rudiger close.

Agree0 0Disagree

07 Aug 2019 16:54:24
It's weird, he signed an extension not long ago, in May. He could of left for free and commanded a big signing on bonus.

I would say Lamps might have said he will play a reduced role this season.

Agree1 0Disagree

07 Aug 2019 16:55:28
The question is why is he forcing a move esp at this time in the window? Could it be that he has been told that his first team role will diminish and he doesn't want to play second fiddle OR have Arsenal offered him more years (in turn more money) OR is a combination of both factors OR could it be something else? Perhaps, time will tell.
I remember that D. Luiz pushed for a move from PSG to Chelsea the moment he realised that he would no longer be in the first team; could this push to leave at this moment be a similar scenario? Whatever he decides, I wish him good luck.

Agree0 0Disagree

07 Aug 2019 17:06:09
Another twist to the story is that he didn't refuse to train that's according to Oliver Harbord of Football. london. So could his 'no-training' be that the club wants him out?

Agree0 0Disagree

07 Aug 2019 17:16:06
MATT LAW'S WORDS: 'There have been a series of fall-outs surrounding him (D. Luiz) this week - He has made it clear he wants to go - Arsenal are interested'.

Agree0 0Disagree

07 Aug 2019 18:30:53
Let him go, no more wild wasted free kicks and those moments of charging a midfielder and being out of position. Doesn’t want to fight for a spot then go,

Agree0 0Disagree

07 Aug 2019 18:43:48
Wrong timing ahead of the Man Utd game.

Club ain't that daft to create a story by selling Luiz knowing they are banned and before a big game. Adverse media.

Luiz probably knows he will be phased out slowly and has been told at arsenal he will be integral. If this is the case then what a way to end a terrific career at chelsea.

Agree0 0Disagree

07 Aug 2019 19:51:43
I would like to think of myself as a balanced fan but Luiz making demands from the club and wanting to go to Arsenal sucks.

He was on course to become something special at our club but any chance of that will disappear as he trundles over to North London.

I can’t think of two many times when we have kept players who want to leave, so I guess we will sell him and keep Tamori in our squad.

Agree0 0Disagree

07 Aug 2019 22:30:45
Was reading on carefree that we got him to sign the new deal not to loose him on a free and that he’s been told he’s 4 choice hence why he wants to go and lampards given his blessing on the deal only passing on what I’ve read.

Agree0 0Disagree

08 Aug 2019 00:11:06
Read Chelsea Will get around or close to £15m for him, that’s brilliant business of true, Zouma Rudiger both better, Christensen would be a lot better if he was bit more aggressive but that £15m can go with the hazard money morata money and go towards strengthen attacking wise end of season,

Agree0 0Disagree

08 Aug 2019 09:58:52
He was probably our weakest defender in pre-season. I expect he's aware he won't be first choice this season and has thrown his toys out of the pram.

Overall he's been a decent player for the club, but I won't be too upset if he leaves and Tomori stays with the squad.
