I don’t like these David Luiz rumours. Refusing to train to force through a move to Arsenal. This seems odd in a few ways, very late in the window, arsenal are a rival and don’t have champions league football and I’ve always thought Luiz was loyal to us and loved the club despite celebrating against us. We certainly don’t have the squad depth to let him go.

No rumours; Matt Law seems to have confirmed it.

David luiz scored the winning goal v us in champions league and went absolutely mental ( as he should of ) and now refused to train to get his move, if this is the case I imagine it’s because he knows his not a regular starter under frank with Zouma back and rudiger close.

It's weird, he signed an extension not long ago, in May. He could of left for free and commanded a big signing on bonus.

I would say Lamps might have said he will play a reduced role this season.

The question is why is he forcing a move esp at this time in the window? Could it be that he has been told that his first team role will diminish and he doesn't want to play second fiddle OR have Arsenal offered him more years (in turn more money) OR is a combination of both factors OR could it be something else? Perhaps, time will tell.
I remember that D. Luiz pushed for a move from PSG to Chelsea the moment he realised that he would no longer be in the first team; could this push to leave at this moment be a similar scenario? Whatever he decides, I wish him good luck.

Another twist to the story is that he didn't refuse to train that's according to Oliver Harbord of Football. london. So could his 'no-training' be that the club wants him out?

MATT LAW'S WORDS: 'There have been a series of fall-outs surrounding him (D. Luiz) this week - He has made it clear he wants to go - Arsenal are interested'.

Let him go, no more wild wasted free kicks and those moments of charging a midfielder and being out of position. Doesn’t want to fight for a spot then go,

Wrong timing ahead of the Man Utd game.

Club ain't that daft to create a story by selling Luiz knowing they are banned and before a big game. Adverse media.

Luiz probably knows he will be phased out slowly and has been told at arsenal he will be integral. If this is the case then what a way to end a terrific career at chelsea.

07 Aug 2019 19:51:43
I would like to think of myself as a balanced fan but Luiz making demands from the club and wanting to go to Arsenal sucks.

He was on course to become something special at our club but any chance of that will disappear as he trundles over to North London.

I can’t think of two many times when we have kept players who want to leave, so I guess we will sell him and keep Tamori in our squad.

Was reading on carefree that we got him to sign the new deal not to loose him on a free and that he’s been told he’s 4 choice hence why he wants to go and lampards given his blessing on the deal only passing on what I’ve read.

08 Aug 2019 00:11:06
Read Chelsea Will get around or close to £15m for him, that’s brilliant business of true, Zouma Rudiger both better, Christensen would be a lot better if he was bit more aggressive but that £15m can go with the hazard money morata money and go towards strengthen attacking wise end of season,

He was probably our weakest defender in pre-season. I expect he's aware he won't be first choice this season and has thrown his toys out of the pram.

Overall he's been a decent player for the club, but I won't be too upset if he leaves and Tomori stays with the squad.

Then I guess Pulisic will wear number 10. I like the less media pressure on Pulisic and just like I have been saying on this page, he will surprise his doubters. He's more ready than Cho will be mainstay of our attack this season.
IMO I'm not so optimistic about our season owing to having a rookie manager and putting up with young and unproven EPL players. Again the strength of our rivals but I don't also forget we are Chelsea football club that always pull out the surprises when written off.

a lot of speculation around that we are going to 'buy' Zaha but he will stay at Palace until next summer - is this possible given our ban?

26 Jul 2019 19:27:24
Yep!

26 Jul 2019 22:15:08
Don’t really see it happening. Think the club will want to wait til January to see if anyone steps up and then revisit transfers then.

Agree0 0Disagree

26 Jul 2019 23:49:30
Its somewhere we will need to spend money on in the next twelve months. I'm sure, if he doesn't move, Zaha will be scouted but I don't see a move for him materialising.

Maybe look towards Neres as a more likely option for next summer.

Hi ed001, any news on where Gary Cahill will end up? I’d assume Aston Villa but heard absolutely nothing regarding him.

{Ed001's Note - I don't actually know, I was told there was a fair bit of interest in him but he had not made any decision back then as to even which country he would play in. There are apparently potential moves to the MLS, China and a few places in Europe on offer.

In my opinion, I think he is holding out for a Premier League move. It is just an opinion, but he does still think he is good enough, so it makes sense to see if there is the possibility.}

Hudson-Odoi signing 5 year 100k a week deal. This is better than any new signing.

Let's get this season started.

Callum has apparently signed a 5 year deal. Great news, one for the future and we get to see him grow at Chelsea,

Matt Law has confirmed that he has agreed a new deal with Chelsea worth over £100,000/ week. Good news.

23 Jul 2019 23:09:32
Sky saying £180k/ week which is eye watering for an 18 year old imo but then again not my money so the club know better. I just think in a year or two he’ll want another contract or the club will want to extend it which will bump it even higher.

24 Jul 2019 03:10:11
It’s 100k and no more! Stop spreading false rumours of 180k. I’ve seen enough unnecessary CHO hate on Twitter that’s come from lies people spread. Half of Twitter was telling him to leave last week because they thought he was holding the club to ransom. No one knows the true story.

24 Jul 2019 10:18:26
Frankie you say it’s 100k and I’m spreading False stories but also say no one knows the true story 😂😂😂.

24 Jul 2019 13:50:30
Because about 5 different people like Matt Law and Simon Phillips (who both know a lot more than) are reporting it 🤣 so get with it and don’t make up pure rubbish! Who told you 180k a week? The little voice in you’re head? 😂.

Agree2 0Disagree

24 Jul 2019 14:20:49
Frankie it is Sky who mentioned the figure of £180k per week.

I personally don’t care what the number is. For me it is just a statement of intent.

Agree0 0Disagree

24 Jul 2019 15:06:24
Ah I wouldn’t listen to sky sports tomb much rather listen to carefree youth on twitter who’s very reliable. Sky have gone really downhill. Simon Phillips and Matt law are also very good when it comes to Chelsea news.

Agree1 0Disagree

24 Jul 2019 15:43:27
My point is Frankie, it’s NOT the little voice in someone’s head. It’s Sky making out, as usual, it’s got the inside track.

Looking at our projected squad, I truly don't think we're very far off on top level talent barring a striker and we will have quite a bit of depth at pretty much every position. The good thing about this squad is it has a very broad demographic in regards to talent which will allow frank a massive amount of tactical versatility.

I also think this years squad will have an exceptional level of motivation as they know the club can't buy and if they aren't able to integrate into the squad this year then they might as well pack their bags which will aid the club in their evaluations of whether to keep players on the books unnecessarily. Exciting yet nerve wracking times and I can't wait for the season to start.

Speaking from the heart, I think the season will be a good season indeed. Although, I must confess that the kind of optimism that many Chelsea fans are showing at the moment is the type that puts pressure on coaches and gets them sacked quickly. Most of us didn't show this type of optimism last season when the looked stronger (on paper- at this time of the season) . Speaking from my head, I think that if our new young players come good quickly, then it will be a wonderful season but I think that at the moment we are slightly weaker than last season.

22 Jul 2019 20:27:27
I think the break even point for this years team is qualifying for the champions league next year. While we obviously don’t have a player to replace hazard, we do have an exceptionally deep squad that will all be playing with the motivation of a clean slate. Scoring will be a challenge and I’m intrigued to see how frank goes about trying to manufacture goals.

Ampadu on loan to Leipzig then it seems.

No easy assignment, but then he's an exceptional young player and pretty versatile, so there's merit to the decision. I'm happy they've decided to really challenge him.

He's going to play at a high level (including Champions League), under one of the best young coaches around (Nagelsmann) and in a competitive team that plays good football.

I'm really excited to see him get to work there, and I must admit I'll be a bit of a Leipzig fan as well this season.

Good luck, Ethan!

With the depth Leipzig have a centre half this seems pretty clear that the club intends to develop him as a defensive midfielder.

Ed002 says on Everton page we are planning to sell Tomori- my bet is Burnley to replace Tarkowski or Aston Villa.

We also have Clarke-Salter and Guehi at CB so plenty of good players coming through!

Agree1 0Disagree

07 Jul 2019 17:01:41
Clarke Salter is nowhere near good enough and never will be. Personally I’d like us to keep Tomori especially as Lampard knows him well. I think he’s got potential.

07 Jul 2019 18:34:43
After Lamps has evaluated the entire squad it maybe the right time to thin out our loan army.

If it’s Zouma, Tamori or Salter, I just hope it’s Lamps and his team who make the final decision.

I’m more interested in how Lamps will set up his side and how flexible he will be from match to match and during matches!

{Ed002's Note - I am not so sure you understand how things work. Over the past three weeks there have been numerous meetings with other clubs including Twente, Atletico, Metz, Atalanta, Bayern Munich, Torino, PSG, Cercle Brugge, Real Madrid, Hoffenheim and others as the club has already sold or released 26 players.}

07 Jul 2019 18:36:50
We can't keep them all hoping that they will someday be good enuf for us . Sometimes we have to take a call and let them achieve their potential elsewhere.

I never felt Salah was made for us . Ever . don't feel it now either.

Just my opinion.
