Eds,

Anything new on Belotti to Chelsea front?

theywayshh

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 30 Jun 2017 22:55:13
Damn, would prefer him to Morata to be honest. But looks like we're getting neither so my opinion should matter lol!

Hi Eds,

Do Chelsea have a shot at Dybala and have they put any effort to push for him?

I understand RM are the front runners for him, but what do you think are the odds of him moving to Chelsea in a year or two?

Thanks as always.

theywayshh

{Ed002's Note - This was dealt with in the Sharkopod in January - nothing has changed. Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona has an interest but he doesn't want to move to Barcelona unless there is a change. Real Madrid are very keen.}

Hi Eds,

Is Chelsea interested in Marco Reus? If yes, how much is BvB is expecting for the player?

Not a big fan of the guy and GBP 70m, quoted by some newspapers, seems like a really high price.

Thanks in advance mate!

Cheers.

theywayshh

{Ed002's Note - The Reus situation is that in early 2015 Borussia Dortmund offered a significant cash sum to the player to sign a contract extension to remove the release clause that German clubs could use to force a deal for the summer of 2015. Manchester United's previous interest has moved on, at least for now. Chelsea stepped back from any deal in December 2014 after several discussions resulted in a significant issue becoming clear - if that goes away then it is possible something could still be done, but I doubt it. Dortmund would be open to selling Reus this summer as a means of generating funds for what may need to be a major rebuild of the side.Arsenal could be interested as a possible replacement for Sanchez if he was available at a reasonable fee and critically can prove his fitness - which in itself is a major issue (and an on going issue). Bayern is no longer pushing for him and I think are unlikely to look to him again after long-term replacements for Ribery and Robben are now in place - unless one of those leaves it seems unlikely they will look again at Reus. Real Madrid would liked to have a deal in 2015 and did approach Dortmund with a tentative offer - but they need to move others on first - and that was a problem then - and still is now. Real Madrid are aware that Reus has been keen on a move to Barcelona but Reus has made it clear that he feels let down by Barcelona who had the option to complete a move for him in 2014. His agent is aware that Barcelona need to raise funds before making significant purchases and are looking in the longer term to rebuild around Neymar - and that in itself has a number of challenges. Without selling one of the three forwards Barcelona would be in an even more difficult position financially. The interest shown briefly by PSG has gone and it would depend what happens from a head coach stand point whether or not that returns. As with everything there are issues, the one Chelsea identified that made them step back, whatever the asking price ends up being, and his ability to prove and sustain fitness.}

Thanks a lot buddy. Interesting summer up ahead for Reus, I guess.

Eds,

Is Chelsea interested in and/ or pursuing Andrea Belotti?

theywayshh

{Ed002's Note - Torino will look to a significant offer in order to sell Andrea Belotti and know that Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal have had the player watched repeatedly and have made general enquiries with his agent. Other sides have had scouts attend games to watch him, Adem Ljajić and Joe Hart. Torino will hold out for as close as they can get to his €60M termination clause - few clubs would have the stomach to pay that. I suspect that a number of clubs scouting games and credited with interest in Belotti were actually looking at Joe Hart. Mnchester United and Chelsea have also had scouts watch him.}

1.) 01 Mar 2017 03:40:54
I doubt Arsenal or BvB will pay that much for the player and he looks like a good player with potential.

Thanks a lot, mate! Cheers.

Some news reports suggesting Bakayoko price may be GBP 52M, which seems in line with Eds' suggestions that he's priced too high.

Wondering if Eds and others think he's worth that price?

theywayshh

{Ed018's Note - he's a good player and he's young. I'd be happy if Chelsea signed him. I don't tend to look at or care about the money. It's not mine and I'm sure Chelsea don't want to spend x amount of money if they don't believe a player is worth it}

1.) 03 May 2017 22:34:37
Defiantly agree. Chelsea are not the type of club to over spend anymore. The couple of times I have seen him play he looks good. My ideal signing in that position is Blasie Matuidi . not going to happen obviously. I.

2.) 04 May 2017 00:05:45
Look at the highlights vs Spurs and City. He dominates Wanyama, Dembele, Eriksen, De Bruyne and Silva at various points. Pairing him and Kante- and a more offensive midfielder if we shift to 3-5-2 could be as good as the Marchisio-Vidal combo that Juventus dominated with.

3.) 04 May 2017 01:41:48
Yeah but Vidal contributed goals out of that partnership, if we had Bakayoko and Kante together none of them would contribute a lot of goals.

4.) 04 May 2017 10:26:30
For the money they want for Bakayoko, I would have expected a player who wasn't so one footed.
Having said that, Matic hasn't got a clue what his right foot is for!

5.) 04 May 2017 11:16:40
It's not like we're blessed with goals from Kante and Matic anyway.

6.) 04 May 2017 18:30:00
Much rather take naingollan.

7.) 04 May 2017 21:15:08
Much rather take Verratti 😂.

I think Conte prefers 3-5-2 and would be looking to set up that for next year with CL in mind. 3-4-3 doesn't seem good enough for big European games.

Keeping that in mind, Bakayoko (potentially) and Kante look good in the middle. But I don't know where Willian/ Pedro fit in this situation?

Also, I think Bernardo Silva could be a great upgrade on Moses. Not sure how likely we are to secure him though.

Eds, penny for your thoughts?

theywayshh

{Ed018's Note - I think it will depend on the personal. I think if he preferred the 3-5-2 he could've used it this season with Costa and Hazard up top and Fabregas in the midfield with Matic and Kante. So I don't know. It doesn't seems preferred at the moment}

1.) 29 Apr 2017 20:17:34
Bernardo Silva isn't a wing back mate and he's left footed so that would be terrible to replace Moses with him. I wouldn't mind him next to Hazard though he's like a quicker version of Juan Mata.

2.) 29 Apr 2017 21:11:06
He's left footed but he plays on right generally - weird I know. And he's good in defense and has good crosses and passes.

3.) 29 Apr 2017 23:05:49
I think contes formation is depending on players, like in juve he had pogba, Vidal, pirlo, so 3 in midfield, 3 great cbs also, and when he managed Siena he played 424 with 2 wide high wingers, with Italy there strength was the 3 cbs and keeper same as juve, he only changed to 3 at the back with Chelsea after a couple of defeats / signing Alonso and Luiz, his formation will depend on personnel, from what I've read up on his favourite formation is the 424 attacking,

4.) 29 Apr 2017 23:45:49
That sounds pretty good except I'd play silva in the cam role behind hazard and the other striker (if Costa leaves) then bakayoko and kante behin with Alonso and Moses wing backs and azpi luiz and a new cb maybe Christiansen in defence.

5.) 30 Apr 2017 00:24:37
Mate would be extremely harsh to start talking about upgrades on moses he's been one of the standout performers this year.

6.) 30 Apr 2017 01:37:18
Magichandshurley I agree him and Alonso have been excelent.

Ed, could you let us know if anything has changed regarding Bonucci and Chelsea apart from continued interest?
Is Juve open to talk?

Thanks in advance!

theywayshh

{Ed002's Note - Juventus will listen to significant offers.}

So Ed, would you say our best and perhaps only bets are Lukaku and Dembele?

Thanks for the update btw!

theywayshh

{Ed002's Note - I didn't say that.}

Thanks for the update Ed002. Would you mind sharing what the price is (ballpark) and if you think it's reasonable considering his talent and age?

Trying to understand if we're becoming unnecessarily stingy.

theywayshh

{Ed002's Note - The club don't want to overpay for players.}

Ed001, if you don't mind me asking, what club do you personally support?

theywayshh

{Ed001's Note - no problem at all mate, I support Liverpool.}

Agree Ed001. But Mueller looks quite unattainable and there has been no signs of Conte's interest in the player. Do you think Chelsea can pull off a move for Mueller?

My understanding is that Conte wants to use the work rate of Morata and box to box engine like Radja/ Bakayako in the 3-5-2.

theywayshh

{Ed001's Note - Mueller has been having a few issues and is not playing well. Last I heard he wanted a move away, though not sure where, just was looking for a change I think. So it could be possible.

One thing with Conte is that he would get more out of Morata than most, so perhaps he could get him to be more effective? Certainly he would need a bit of work to truly fit your play.}

Nice insights Ed001. I also think just either one of them will not be good enough. But do you think having both of them in a 3-5-2, similar to the Llorente-Tavez at Juve, could work well?

theywayshh

{Ed001's Note - possibly. That would be dangerous to the opponent, Lukaku could do the Vardy role, he has the pace and power to do it better than Vardy. Morata could play off them. The problem is the lack of workrate and the fact that you do not play from deep enough to draw out the opposing defence most weeks. You dominate the play usually. You need a striker who can keep hold of the ball, rather than have it bounce off him like Lukaku does. Mueller of Bayern might be better for you, as he could also play other roles in the side as well.}
