Praise for Conte! If Luiz hadn't questioned Conte's tactics v Roma, Christensen would still be getting splinters in his backside. Why did Conte insist on buying Zappacosta when we have Sterling, Kalas, Omeruo, Aina, Boga, Dabo, Dasilva, Tomori, Pasalic, all of who could have been used as cover for Moses - and I would suggest most of them would be as good if not better than Zappacosta.

Any interest in Mangala ed? He's reported as telling BeinSport that he'd favour a move to Chelsea over City, but I don't see why we really need another cb.
{Ed002's Note - He is fishing. Eliaquim Mangala has been watched by many clubs but an unreasonable termination clause and a third party ownership issue put most off firming up enquiries. Although both Monaco and Chelsea approached Porto about a deal, it would need a negotiated price to stand any chance of completion. The price has seemingly not dumbed interest from the Manchester clubs. I am told by that Mr Moyes had someone looking at Mangala on behalf of Manchester United towards the end of the season and there has been a flurry of activity from Manchester City and both clubs fear interest from Real Madrid if they lose Varane.}
1.) Cheers Ed, seems unnecessary to spend that much on a CB only tested in Portugal, particularly when we've already signed Zouma and have Kalas coming through. Is interest in a CB due to the possibility of D.Luiz's sale or is it unrelated?

Hey ed, was just wondering if Blanc stating that PSG want Oscar and Luiz counts as tapping up? Its always seemed strange that teams like Barca and Real are constantly talking of other teams players and PSG have been at it non stop this year. I thought this was illegal and if it is why are they avoiding punishment?

2.) It's not illegal to state that you want a player or are interested in them. It is illegal to try tapping them up behind closed doors and behind clubs backs.

If you look at the team that lost 5-3 to Spurs we've gone nowhere since then. Identical defence, same sloppy attacking. Has the club lost its vision?

Ed, it's looking likely that Hiddink will be interim manager.
To fellow posters, who would you like to see? For me I'd be happy with one of Guardiola, Ancelotti or Simeone. Guardiola because of his exciting grand of football and reputation for success, Ancelotti for more or less the same reasons plus his past with Chelsea and Simeone because his passion reminds me of a younger Jose. I'd still rather have a vibrant, unburdened Jose over all of them though.

I don't see what you find odd about it. the club clearly need a bigger stadium to get to the next level and they are probably losing out on millions a year by having a small stadium.

Any of the Eds know anything on the possibility of Cech going Real? It looks like Diego Lopez is off to AC Milan but they'll still have Keylor Navas and Casillas. Mourinho did say something along the lines that Schwarzer will be a solid no.2, not sure if that means one of Cech or Courtois will go or whether he's just talking up Schwarzer.

Hi EDs, hope you are all well. Does it ever occur that signings come out of the blue as it were? It’s just that Matt Law is now reporting this Werner deal and he’s usually quite reliable for a tabloid writer and it made me wonder the above! Really don’t want this to come across as a criticism, I appreciate the work done here (rarely post but read more or less daily) and have come to learn that you guys probably know more about football than I could ever hope to!

Anyone else think Mitrovic is worth a punt? Decent record with Fulham and probably cheap enough. Think Batshuayi is as good as if not better though!

Oblak for Courtois and money would be the ideal signing. I do think we need another midfielder and we will be up rubbish creek without a paddle if either Kante or Jorginho gets injured. Interesting to see who gets that third midfield place alongside Kante and Jorginho. I’m happy with our RW options, Hudson-Odoi, Willian and Pedro seems enough. I’d love Bailey but is he much better than Hudson-Odoi? I’ve not seen enough to judge.

I imagine it’s a negotiation ploy. Don’t want to make us seem too desperate for Sarri. We don’t owe Conte any thing no in my opinion. Still paying his wage and will probably have to pay off his wages this year.

I do t think we need to jump on Christensen. He’s off form but still easily gets in the starting xi. A lot had to happen between that mistake and them scoring too.
