Luiz what you doing? I think his heads finally gone. I don't think he would of been disruptive I just think if he wants to go the best thing is to keep him away from the first team, look at Lukaku he's in another country. A little gutted In away he's going as I don't think Zouma or Christenson are good enough I hope they prove me wrong like. Not saying Luiz was the best minded defender but the experience would of helped this year and he always popped up with an important goal now and then.

The move doesn't really surprise me if i'm honest. He has his own bussiness in London so he was never going outside the capital if he was to leave. Personally i thought he was going to be first choice with Zouma but it seems as if that's not the case. We're offloading a lot of players that don't have a future here, Luiz was one of them whether it was going to be this summer or next. Letting him go will just give a player like Christensen or Tomori more of a chance to play, both who are young and can improve.

2.) 08 Aug 2019 08:49:25
The club changed a contract extension rule to keep him. Something we didn’t do for JT or Lamps. I think we showed our commitment to him.

This saga may have been going on for a few days but why so late? Although it isn’t his issue he knows the club have a transfer ban!

Anyway, onwards and upwards to another Premiership Title.

COME on MY MIGHTY BLUES.

3.) 08 Aug 2019 10:15:22
TomB, my guess would be that he has been told that he won't be a first choice starter hence throwing his toys out of pram.

4.) 08 Aug 2019 12:03:23
MDW, it says it all. Not good enough to start for us but he is for the Gooners!

5.) 08 Aug 2019 14:28:48
Is he definitely off? Hope not, and certainly not to Arsenal.! When focused he is still one of the best, and given Jorginho's limitations playing longer forward balls he was the one who could find players from distance. I think it would be crazy to let him go right now, esp. given Rudiger's injury.

6.) 08 Aug 2019 16:24:55
JBS, he wants away, so sell him!

7.) 08 Aug 2019 22:00:38
Yes, but not quite sure why he wasn't reassured he'd play a lot, and to sell him to a major rival TomB?

It hurts me at least. Luiz was often a stand out player for us last season, as he has so often been in big games over the years. I think we will miss his experience and will (and belief that he/ we can) to win when stakes highest.

Si I'm a feeling a bit low this deadline day, partly cos it's been a matter of watching our rivals strengthen and I think this season could be a tough transitional one for us. Anyway, I think we have to give Lamps three seasons at least to mould his team as I reckon it could initially be a bit of a rocky ride.

Still, yes, let's hope for the best!

8.) 09 Aug 2019 11:33:02
IMO JBS playing reassurances to ANY player should NEVER be given.

9.) 09 Aug 2019 15:53:39
Well I don't mean guarantees, agree with you that a guarantee cannot be given to ANY player. But was hoping that if Luiz was still in Frank's plans, Frank could have made this clear to him and talked him out of moving and into being part of rebuilding Chelsea. But of course if Luiz was determined to go anyway, or Frank did not see the point in keeping him (or has another CB lined up when we can enter the transfer market again perhaps, and this behind his thinking), then there's not much that could be done.

He was never at his best at our club but the fans always got behind him and he is and will always be an big part of our history.

Good luck to him!

2.) 21 Jun 2019 13:54:23
That goal Vs Barcelona . :)

3.) 21 Jun 2019 16:56:04
Was Torres who won the corner out of nothing for the Drogba goal b Bayern too.

4.) 21 Jun 2019 23:32:14
Tom your right their pal. The fans always got behind Torres. Despite his struggles, as fans we always wanted him to succeed at Chelsea and he had ever lasting support. Even the board persisted and so wanted him to succeed.

He played his part in our history. All the best to el nino.

5.) 22 Jun 2019 00:09:59
I think he brought out the best in our fans. Clearly his best days were behind him yet every game he had so much support from everyone wanting him to succeed.

6.) 22 Jun 2019 16:38:37
But where did that support go for morata, sarri, jorginho? Shame things can change so drastically in such a short time.

If the ban doesn't. Get frozen then I think we will struggle big time 100 million will not buy you a another Eden Hazard it's as simple as that I like how we all want youth to play a part in our team yet the biggest team in the world in Real Madrid never do it lol money is everything these days not youth.

Nibby67

1.) 08 Jun 2019 15:08:26
I share your opinion on this. It's surprising how even some fans have lowered their standard with Chelsea nowadays. Such obsession with playing the youth. It's good if we can get some talents integrated into the first team over time but we must not stop chasing and sustaining success to remain a big club.

To some, the ban is a blessing because it will give the youth opportunity and all that. It will take us years back. Not only is the ban bad for the club in many other ways but it is coming at the worst time for Chelsea. Losing our best players and potentially losing our coach. This is a time our rivals are getting stronger. And we hope to make the top four and win some odd trophies according to many posters. IMO now is the time to strengthen the spine of the squad with quality players and complement with the youth who actually take their chances (ban frozen) . Chances should be given on merit of performance and not an entitlement.

Again we quickly turn to accountants in rationalising the adequate amount spent or to be spent on players even when we know nothing about details. I'm not interested in how much the club spend so long as the players perform and help our course in becoming the best. After all we became a big club by signing best and quality over quantity as is the case now. Except we have given up in winning like Arsenal did with Wenger, we must attract and sign a few of world class players. Big clubs and players do not play in europa. No big club rely on the youth to win them trophies. They complement until they have earned their place.

I still cherish the good old days and I want it back or we continue the decline.

Look am not to bothered about the sarri situation the final the other night, in the second half was the best I've seen us play, the football he has brought has been terrible it's only the likes of hazard and a hand full of others that's got us where we are this year the size of or club and we're 20+ Points off top spot and the europa league trophy is good but let's be honest we didn't really play anyone till final. The football played and the same subs situation all year round as been awful but the bloke didn't change and that's credit to him and he's won his first medal and I would like to wish him the best of luck in the future. What is going to change our club more is the departure of hazard that's what we should be spending are time on, his departure is going to have more affect on the club than sarri.

1.) 01 Jun 2019 09:36:17
IMO you are so VERY wrong Nibby.

The Sarri appointment was supposed to part of a long term plan and with a new manager will probably come a new plan.

2.) 01 Jun 2019 13:20:58
Agree we have had the worse season in so many ways regarding style of football and points behind prem leaders the plan wasn’t working so let’s start again like I said we didn’t play anyone till final and it’s been terrible against top 4 teams this year we’re miles off.

Opinions were all aloud one the football has been terrible all season guys we want to be entertained like city and Liverpool do there fans that’s all, good football Jorginho has only played good football when Kante got injured and the subs I guess them right every game the players are to blame when they lose and they got the europa and there to thank for that, they turned up he will do well in Italy as the football is slow and I hope he does well.

Frank on to a winner he does well with what he has then it’s the youth has worked it’s amazing and if it does it’s frank didn’t do anything as the man had no money to spend. I love lampard and 100% behind him I do think he will be given time but the signings of mount rlc are all good but we just don’t look like netting i think we’re ok in every other position bar that.

Were going to struggle big time putting ball in net we don’t even look like we were going to in last game, all the money spent and players we’ve had and still no better off striker wise worrying times ahead this year.

I feel frustrated by this hole transfer joke that’s going off I feel there are loads of good players wanting to leave there teams this transfer window unlike many before the players are more powerful now and say it has it is and we’re stood still the big players neymar Mbappe Griezmann and the rest, now am not saying we would be able to sign them but the players moving a side for them in some teams I would take and they would make us better.

Pre season don’t make me laugh they only have two week off at most they don’t forget how to play football in two weeks if they play bad it’s not pre season they just played bad end of, these players don’t go on ale for 2 weeks and eat burgers and kebabs every day.
