I wouldn't mind seeing Luiz next to Kante in a two. Give us more protection and physicality.

1.) 31 Jan 2019 22:07:29
Agree but most others don't like the idea. He passes really well, physical but not as dangerous in the middle as he is in defence with his red mist, great shot and good in the air.

2.) 01 Feb 2019 00:06:12
That means you want to completely stamp out our free flowing football?

3.) 01 Feb 2019 08:36:48
If our current style is free flowing effective football then yes, a change is definitely needed. 13 goals in 13 games is not free flowing effective football.

4.) 01 Feb 2019 10:04:32
obinna 123, I usually agree and appreciate what you post but 'our free flowing football'?! What you been smoking, guv!

5.) 01 Feb 2019 11:25:45
Mrs Costa, it's not the free flowing football that is the problem it's because Sarri isn't balancing his free flowing football.
THINK ABOUT THIS: Imagine Sarri's philosophy involves playing a deep lying playmaker (that is Jorginho) instead of a proper defensive midfielder in front of his defense- common sense should tell him that Jorginho has no combative or ball winning ability and cos of this feature, his defense will be relatively be under a bit of pressure (or weak) ; so that should make Sarri to fortify his defense line heavily so as to counteract the effect of the absence of a proper defensive midfielder- which would mean that a player like D. Luiz that's full of mistakes shouldn't be starting (so Sarri should go get a solid centre half with good pace) .
Another thing he can do to counteract the imbalance created by Jorginho (sitting in front of the defense) is: fortify his attack heavily with pace and creativity (don't take chances with players) ; this means that even if the team is somewhat weak in defending well from midfield- his attack should be able to score more than opponents.

Mrs Costa, if you look at the team as it is at the moment, our attack isn't pressing, creative and isn't scoring goals; and our defense can't defend well; tell me what do you think would be our faith? Sarri can also balance the squad a bit by playing 4231 formation (with Kante next to Jorginho) as his two central midfielders but I guess Sarri only knows how to play 433 formation. Truly it's rubbish that a top flight manager only knows how to play one formation (that he hasn't even being successful with, yet) .

I think Sarri is getting it wrong, he has no idea the league he's playing in and he still doesn't know the ability of the players he's got at Chelsea (a lot of them are passed their good years) . If Sarri is not careful, these players will let him down. Looking at what's happening at Chelsea at the moment, it's glaring that Antonio Conte is a very good coach, he tried to solve the problem with a change in formation- which was working beautifully, up until Diego Costa and Matic left the club and appropriate replacements weren't brought in.

If Sarri's football is balanced, he can be the best.

6.) 01 Feb 2019 11:46:38

* Get a no 10 like Ericksen or one with Ericksen's qualities- that will bring creativity, assists and goals (in some cases) to take up that position where Barkley and Kovacic play in the team;
* Get D. Luiz out and bring in a proper centre half to pair with Rudiger at the heart of the central defense;
* Forttify our fullback positions;
* Sell Willian and bring in a young winger that has the energy levels to press high and track back with to the full backs.

If we get these things done (though it might not be possible in transfer window), even if we have Higuain and Batsuayi as our attackers, I can bet that we can challenge properly for the league or even win it.

7.) 01 Feb 2019 14:23:06
Free flowing football 🤣🤣🙈🙈🙈 I’ve heard it all now.

8.) 01 Feb 2019 14:25:10
If we signed ERIKSEN! (Which e never will) it might be best if you learn how to spell his name quick time.

9.) 01 Feb 2019 14:30:28
Another thing that Sarri can do is play Kovacic (whom has proven himself not be a good no 10- cos he doesn't have the requisite assists and eye for goal in his game) - in front of his defense; Kovacic can play well as a deep lying playmaker and has that desired combative and ball winning ability that's absent in Jorginho. If Kovacic plays in Jorginho's position, we might begin to see some balance; and I think that might consequently reduce the number of goals that we concede.

Please Sarri, don't be AN ARSENE WENGER- that played very good free flowing football but never cared about his defensive midfield position (after Gilberto Silva and Patrick Viera left the club) .

10.) 02 Feb 2019 08:31:27
You are funny guy ChelseaRanger, even if we can't get Eriksen, maybe someone with Eriksen's attributes for that no 10 role can do it. Some people talk about RLC for that role but I am not very confident that he can do that no 10 role very well- he prefers to always want to run with the ball (don't get wrong- RLC can improve to become a good no 10 but at the moment he isn't, he does have the eye for the goal on rare occasions but the creativity nah! ) . Few English players made good no 10 over the years.
Maybe an Isco, Zielinski won't be bad for it.

11.) 03 Feb 2019 20:51:19
It’s not going to happen. Sarri is stubborn, and will stick to his tactics until they’re perfected. This will be his downfall, and has been for our previous managers.

12.) 10 Feb 2019 19:52:20
obinna 123. Why talk about Kovacic as a defensive mid when we've already got possibly Europe's best stuck out on the right of an attacking midfield?

{Ed025's Note - fair point mate..

13.) 10 Feb 2019 20:03:40
Thanks, Ed.

30 Jan 2019 20:13:11
Lyon manager desperate for Giroud at end of season. We need to use that to sign Aouar. Or even Mendy or Fekir.

1.) 30 Jan 2019 22:51:05
He'll be a free agent in the summer, will he not?

2.) 30 Jan 2019 23:54:49
Can we get Lyon to take a few more? Hahaha.

29 Jan 2019 18:54:33
Who would everyone's realistic ins and outs for the summer then? I don't want Ampadu in midfield he's a CB and I think he needs a loan. Christensen has quality but unsure on his mentality at top level. We lack left footers I'd like Romagnoli he's a leader at Milan, quality on the ball and a danger at set pieces.

For LB obviously a start would be to play Emerson over Alonso. Alonso just doesn't cut it in a back four. Chilwell would be a great option and homegrown.

As for CM I think Kovacic could be a great understudy to Jorginho. Drinkwater, Barkley, Van Ginkel and Pasalic should be moved on. Mount I don't think is as good as people make out. I rate RLC highly as our LCM but his back issues are a big problem and you need two quality players if we're in champions league. Sarri has previously spoke of Aouar highly he's going to be brilliant that lad. He's the creativity we need.

I think Hazard will leave if he does Pulisic isn't good enough to replace him but then again who is? We have been crying out for a left footed right winger for years. Pepe would be the best option he seems to know where the net is too. I think Hudson-Odoi will stay we just need to put faith in him. I'm hoping we move Willian on. It would be massively different without Eden but if we have Hudson-Odoi, Pepe, Pulisic and Pedro as our wingers next year I'd be happy. I think CHO is going to be brilliant. I think them 4 signings are realistic also they're not superstars but at least two will be and we wouldn't be paying over 60 million for any. We could make about 200 million of outgoings with the ones I've listed. I know it's not FIFA but I'm hopeful of something similar

James (Back From Loan)

Out On Loan:

Van Ginkel
Moses (Permanently)
Morata (Permanently)

1.) 29 Jan 2019 19:16:39
Your missing a striker there?

2.) 29 Jan 2019 20:54:31
Have to say if we sell Hazard and Willian and our replacement is Pepe, that is VERY risky. Maybe Pepe and invest in a top forward in addition but not just Pepe, surely?

3.) 29 Jan 2019 20:59:29
Out :
Michy, Moses, piazon, kalas, drinkwater, Bakyoko, Giroud, morata, Willian, Alonso, Zappacosta,
Ins: Pepe eriksen Romagnoli mendy and a striker. No idea who, I wanted piatek but his now at Milan,

4.) 29 Jan 2019 20:50:28
Would like a new striker but who? Icardi looks set to stay. I’d take a gamble on Luka Jovic, I don’t know who else there is. Most of the old breed are ageing Suarez, Cavani, Lewandowski etc. The younger ones don’t strike me as great either apart from maybe Jovic.

5.) 29 Jan 2019 22:10:12
Let's see how higuin does first.

6.) 29 Jan 2019 23:52:13
Why do we want to move Ampadu on loan? I don’t mind loaning some players but it’s nof something that should be for every player. Other top clubs don’t need to do it we jus need to integrate him in.

7.) 30 Jan 2019 02:31:31
OUT: Caballero, Zappacosta, Cahill, Drinkwater, Batshuayi, Kovacic (send him back), Willian, Pedro, Giroud

INS: Betinelli, Hysaj, Barella, Aouar, Pulisic, Fekir, Tammy.

8.) 30 Jan 2019 06:02:41
Honestly we need a Summer Clearance Sale. Wishful thinking but here are my preferences (depends on the transfer ban too) :-

Outs : Willy, Zouma, Bakayoko, Morata, Moses, Cahill, Drinkwater, Kova, Willian, Pedro, Giroud, Zappa, Bats, Kennedy (plus many other loan players) - Ideally keep one of CHO/ Hazard

Chalobah (out on loan), Sterling (out on loan)

Ins: One of (Barella/ Aouar/ Fekir/ Tonali), Maxi Lopez/ Jovic, Bailey/ Pepe/ Lozano, Pulisic (done), Reece (returning), Tammy (returning), Mason (returning) . may be I am missing one of two. but these are my choices for now.

9.) 30 Jan 2019 08:53:42
Eriksen will never happen.

10.) 30 Jan 2019 09:40:17
If only it was easy as Football Manager, eh lads?

11.) 30 Jan 2019 09:47:27
It’s okay if we’re going to integrate him but I don’t think Sarri will. He’s not a Regista he’s a CB for me and if he’s not starting there’s no point him stagnating.

12.) 30 Jan 2019 11:16:54
Let’s get this season done first IMO and then see where we go from there. Think we have a better chance of keeping Eden if we are in the champions League and also CHO.

13.) 30 Jan 2019 11:21:58
1. Real will want £50m plus for Kovatic - are we really going to pay that for a 'back-up' for Jorginho?
2. Ampudu looks the real deal when he plays midfield for Wales - why loan him? Play him!
3. Even if Higuain stays, we still need another top class striker - if CHO insists on leaving, I wouldn't mind Lewandowski in exchange - a couple of seasons of Higuain / Lewandowski will do me (Icardi was never going to come to Chelsea) .
4. Chilwell would be expensive and I can't see that he's better than Emerson.
5. I don't think Romagnoli will be allowed to leave and I would much prefer Koulibaly anyway.
6. Bakayoko is now getting rave reviews week-on-week in Italy and has been nicknamed 'the Beast' - I think we should give him another chance.

14.) 30 Jan 2019 14:09:43
in- pulisic
in- icardi
in- kovacic permanent transfer
in- barella
in- dybala if hazard leaves
in- bailey if cho leaves

out- cahill
out- zapacosta permanently
out- baba rahmen permanently
out- drinkwater permanently
out- bakayoko permanently
out- alonso permanently
out- pedro or willian if hazard and cho stays id sell 1 of the 2
out- lucas piazon permanently
out- marco van ginkel permanently.

15.) 30 Jan 2019 14:51:30
Mrs costa there’s far more chance of Romagnoli leaving than Koulibaly 🙄.

16.) 30 Jan 2019 15:13:34
CahelseaRanger, how do you come to that conclusion? Romagnoli was made Milan's team and club captain at the beginning of this season. He is now established at both club and international levels. He is under contract until 2022. Although Koulibaly signed a new contract until 2023, he has consistently said that he would be open to a move to Spain or England. He has worked with Sarri at Napoli and has talked of his high-regard for Sarri. Yes, we would have to throw big bucks at Napoli to persuade them but we knew it would be costly anyway.

17.) 30 Jan 2019 15:14:49
As it states dihanio I said it’s not Fifa. I advise read before posting it’s always a more sensible option.

18.) 30 Jan 2019 15:44:53
slot cristensen into a deal for koulibaly maybe even bakayoko and u could all of a sudden have dat dinosour who runs napolis attention.

26 Jan 2019 01:53:13
Nicolas Pepe WOW what a talent. He'd be a cracking option for right wing next year. Left footed too.

1.) 26 Jan 2019 07:03:24
agree .

if people stay

I don't think Hazard will stay and nor will CHO to be honest. but if he does that young and explosive attacking mids.

2.) 26 Jan 2019 07:40:45
ChelseaRanger, why did you mention Nicolas Pepe? Do you know anything that we do not know? Please share if you do.

3.) 26 Jan 2019 14:26:35
How do you mean obinna? I just think he looks a good player. Perfect for RW.

4.) 26 Jan 2019 16:00:08
Dave rugani rudiger Emerson
Jorginho kante
Hazard Pulisic Pepe
Or no pep then Pulisic wide and fekir middle, but I’d never have RLC as holding midfielder he at times has struggled in a 3 let alone a two, but only my opinion. Jorhinho has shown that when the attacking players are playing well he looks good. He only gets critiqued when our forwards struggle to score and people point to him,

5.) 26 Jan 2019 16:28:13
If hazard leaves I’d like Dybala. Unlikely but we do need a marquee. I’d like this:

Azpi Rüdiger Romagnoli Chilwell/ Emerson

Kante Jorginho

Pepe Dybala Hudson-Odoi

James/ Emerson/ Chilwell
New ST? (Jovic looks good) 🤔.

6.) 26 Jan 2019 16:35:13
I wouldn’t have RLC in a two if we go 4-3-3 I’d like him LCM as that would make Sarri play Emerson also. He has said he likes Alonso for physicality but if Rubens back he’s got no excuse. Aouar is a fantastic player we should be targeting as well.

7.) 26 Jan 2019 21:03:50
I read an article online where Nicolas Pepe said (in 2017, when he was at Angers) that Chelsea, is the English team that he would love to play for one day. So when you mentioned his name, I got curious.

8.) 26 Jan 2019 21:57:42
Yeah I seen that, they’re the type of players I want here players who want to play for us. Drogba could be a factor also.

9.) 26 Jan 2019 23:43:04
It would really be nice if Chelsea can get Hudson Odoi out (whom obviously wants out) and get Nicolas Pepe in.

10.) 27 Jan 2019 06:50:42
It looks like CHO is heading for Bayern and it’s likely the club will scramble around to replace him in the last week of the transfer window. I have watched Pepe play numerous times now and I like him but I don’t think he is what we need. He thrives on counter attacking football, picking the ball up and driving at past players. With Sarri in charge I can’t see him reaching his full potential. We play a lot of football in possession with defences camped in their own half. I would say we need a technical player (left footed as that balance needs to be addressed) . With players like Dybala, Griezmann, Salah obviously unattainable then I would like at Cengiz Under of Roma. I can seeing him being similar to Hazard, low center of gravity and squeezing through gaps in defences where he really shouldn’t be allowed to go. With the added benefit of having a decent shot and being tried and tested in a more competive league.

11.) 27 Jan 2019 08:44:59
Maybe Fekir or James Rodriguez if they’re available, what do we think?

12.) 27 Jan 2019 11:37:16
If Cho goes we need a winger, pace, width and 1v1. We need a playmaker to take the LCM spot. Unless we go 4231 of course.

18 Feb 2019 03:02:54
Alright Ed do you have any idea why my post hasn't been posted?

{Ed0333's Note - nope I have no idea why but if it involved bashing Liverpool, Rafa Benitez or laurel & Hardy it may have been deleted.

1.) 18 Feb 2019 03:41:27
Nope none of them it actually included bashing Chelsea fans channel.

{Ed001's Note - this one: 17 Feb 2019 20:44:24

As I'm on Twitter and follow a lot of Chelsea twitter sites I just noticed how much respect I've lost for Chelsea Fans Channel. I used to think they were really good but the disrespect they have for fans is disgusting. Rory and Charlie especially. Apparently if you don't go to every game and because everyone isn't Sarri out like them two you cannot be proper fans. Shocking. I work a shift pattern and live in north wales so I only manage 6/ 7 games a season and to be honest I don't like home games the atmosphere doesn't excite me as much as away. Think Chelsea fans are really split over the direction the club is heading at the minute but arguing amongst each other is awful. Well they've had an unfollow anyway. I did give Rory a piece of me mind but unfortunate I ended up getting blocked 😂.

I don't know either, maybe just because whoever edited it didn't want the site to get dragged into a slanging match about other site? I have no idea.}

2.) 18 Feb 2019 04:39:00
Still thought it would be Chelsea related and was interested in other members of the sites opijions, never mind.

{Ed001's Note - I was only making a suggestion mate, I have no idea, it could simply have been an error for all I know. I don't know who dealt with it or why they made their decision.}

3.) 18 Feb 2019 05:28:17
No worries mate it’s no problem just thought there might have been something I said that caused offence just so I know for next time 👍🏻.

{Ed001's Note - not that I can see or I wouldn't have posted it up.}

16 Feb 2019 21:22:32
We signed one Milan striker think we need to go after Piatek in the summer.

1.) 17 Feb 2019 10:45:44
I don't like to be all 'I told you so' but I did say that we should be buying Piatek not taking Higuain on loan - I was shot down by other posters with 'He's a one season wonder'! I argued that he's very Lewandowski-like.

Maria, hire me as Director of Football / Chief Scout (or even Manager) - I'm cheap!

2.) 17 Feb 2019 11:16:31
Please don't tell me that SON stands for Sarri Out Now? Cringe. And if it does then please provide a replacement, if you really think that who is avaliable now and would want to come our basket case of a club? It's this mindset that has got us in this mess, sack the manager at the first sign of struggle with no plan of who to bring in or where to go next. You do realise that we will eventually run out of managers to hire or alternatively managers that will want to come here (whatever comes first) knowing that they will get maximum a year in the role if they're lucky. In addition Roman and the board will refuse to pay the early termination fee and if they do it would only reduce our transfer budget for the following window to cover the cost. Man I'd love to see how some of you would cope as Spurs, Everton or West Ham fans.

3.) 17 Feb 2019 11:46:01
Well structured post Zola.

I want Sarri to stay for the same reasons you have given the only problem is our board are not known for their patience and they can argue it has brought us success.

I do think Sarri is his own worst enemy, continually playing players who have lost form and his boring substitutions are just two examples but I will judge him at the end of the season and I hope the board do the same but I’m not hopeful.

4.) 17 Feb 2019 15:48:18
Zola, I refer you to my post for the increasingly obvious replacement!

And yes, that is exactly what it stands for: SON. SON. SON.

5.) 17 Feb 2019 17:50:15
I think the real Mrs Drogba may well be better qualified.

SMS. SMS. Sarri Must Stay!

6.) 18 Feb 2019 10:53:20
Mrs Drogba do you genuinely think that Zidane would want to come here, you're having a laugh. Unless he's paid through the teeth, he'd have no interest and I don't blame him. The team needs a complete overhaul and if Sarri can't get it Zidane certainly won't, especially as you'd think Hazard would stay if he came. Also tbh I'm not sold on Zidane either, managing Madrid when they already won the UCL the season before with Ronaldo and managing Chelsea are vastly different kettles of fish. He would also demand astronomical wages I'd imagine. To sum it up I don't think he's an option and even if he was we wouldn't be in any better position than what we are currently.

16 Feb 2019 10:22:50
What's you're opinion on Kai Havertz Ed? I've just seen an article Chelsea related with who we should target for the LCM role. Havertz, Aouar and Draxler were mentioned. I have never seen Havertz play. Aouar is fantastic I've seen him a few times. I hope Sarri changes to a 4-2-3-1 then we get the best out of Kante and hopefully bring in a proper number ten like Fekir.

{Ed001's Note - I have seen him a couple of times and he was outstanding. I am told by people who watch the Bundesliga that he is that good all the time.}

1.) 16 Feb 2019 10:39:22
Maybe he could do the job for us then? If Sarri wants a 3 man midfield. Seems to have it all from what I read very Ballack like. Physical too.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has no interest in him.}

2.) 16 Feb 2019 12:48:01
Didn’t ask if there was interest just stated he might be good for the role.

3.) 16 Feb 2019 13:13:45
Ed002 any chance can say cms we do have interest in?

{Ed002's Note - And take the grief? Sorry it is best not to.}

4.) 16 Feb 2019 15:38:49
Aouar is a good player. I read that Fekir might extend his deal with Lyon, so just maybe Aouar could be a Chelsea target?

5.) 16 Feb 2019 16:20:55
Any one of Havertz, Fekir or Aouar would be godly. I like Kovacic in the Jorginho role but he shouldn’t be our LCM. Or next to Kante as a holding two.

10 Feb 2019 16:28:54
I've stuck by Sarri for a while now but I've finally given up this is absolutely disgusting.

1.) 10 Feb 2019 16:33:51
About time but welcome to the bloody obvious club.

2.) 10 Feb 2019 16:38:08
Your the second poster to suggest sacking Sarri. Mrs Costa just got their before you on the Other Posts page!

3.) 10 Feb 2019 16:46:43
I’m sure Sarri didn’t tell them to defend like headless chickens.

4.) 10 Feb 2019 16:52:59
i agree bru why do managers get slated the players are a shambles.

5.) 10 Feb 2019 18:25:32
Sarri must of told Alonso to stand 5 yards from luiz and not mark city player out wide, then told him to let the city players just waltz past him. Before screaming to Barkley to not header the ball away and to pathetically attempt a block rather than close down, damn you Sarri, I’m angry at Sarri for picking these average players, but individual errors and general uselessness can’t all be pinned to Sarri.

01 Feb 2019 20:45:36
Pepe at it again for Lille we desperately need him.

1.) 01 Feb 2019 21:20:34
Seen most of his goals and I’m s big fan and think we should be ok for him. but a lot of his goals are against a high line and he makes them runs behind. Nobody plays that high v us,

2.) 01 Feb 2019 21:40:52
I prefer him to Willian in my team.

3.) 01 Feb 2019 22:41:55
Of course, he is ready made to what Sarri has said today, plays with his back to the play on the turn ready to make runs, he doesn’t want to be still receiving ball, wants it in front and on the run,

4.) 02 Feb 2019 09:39:43
And he likes Chelsea a lot.

Won us the semi final against spurs too in the penalty shoot out in the League Cup. Feels good to go into a penalty shootout confident again. Only ever seen Courtois the snake save one penalty at west brom away and that was lucky.

There's been various rumours all week the ban is set to be frozen which is what we deserve. If we can keep RLC fit we probably have 10 goals a season from midfield which is what we've missed since Frank. We need to get rid of Willian for a decent fee and aim for Pepe or a winger who scores and assists like Eden. Id even try for Sane if he'snot happy at City and build our future around him. We need to move heaven and earth for Jovic he's the next up and coming class striker. If Eden is off to Madrid we should agree a deal that we'll sell if they stay away from Jovic. Jovic and Pepe will never replace Hazard talent wise but they will make us a better team again.

Jovic I think we should go for. Like Piatek but he’s only just joined. If there’s one player we need to take from Milan it’s Romagnoli. He’s brilliant, a leader and perfect for the LCB role.

Prefer Romagnoli. Any interest in him Ed? We desperately lack some left footers for balance, he’s a leader too.

We have plenty of young centre backs, if we sign one it should be a potential world class one i. e De Ligt, Romagnoli etc.
