G8, I may well be wrong but I think 5th place will qualify for Champions League this season but I can’t see us being in that competition next season.

“Cold” Palmer does look a good buy but the pundits will turn on him when he inevitably has a poor run of form.

A fifth place for an English club in CL, is far from certain, I think it depends on how the clubs get on in CL compared to other countries, Newcastle and Man U are already out.

Top 5 may or may not make Champions league Tom, will depend on co-efficients and with Man U and Newcastle going out early it is not a forgone conclusion. As for Cole Palmer his performance dipped second half against Luton but the pundits love him and you can see why. What a talent, and I repeat, well done the sporting directors for identifying it and bringing him in.

Think with Newcastle and United finishing bottom of group the 5th place for champions league will go down to the wire

G8, your right, we just need that consistency, we have played brilliant this season and lost, last two games we haven’t been great but got 6 points which is what United have been doing, plus hopefully Fulham rest players for semi final and we capitalise on that in our next league fixture and I think teams above us have tough games,

I worry, that Broja only goal come from a player kicking the ball against him, he needs to step up,

Again I’m probably wrong but I thought the coefficient was worked out on all European competitions. If that is correct the English club performances in the other two tournaments could well compensate for Newcastle and Utd both dropping out.

G8 I agree that our season is still on track for a better position. We probably don't know anything about how the board but if we can get in the required quality into the team early this window hoping they settle in quickly, we can still spring a rare surprise this season. We only need certain few players to compliment the squad we already have and become a force in no time.

These I expected that the club should have started by now especially as our regular striker is off to ancon soon.
On a lame opinion, I know we already have enough cm in the squad 3 or more but I wouldn't mind having Paulinha of Fulham, and obviously a proven striker. Signings should be early in the window hoping they gel soon to help push us the ladder. i don't know a player now who can bring creativity to the midfield but I hope we can get one this window ASAP.

We can still achieve top 4 against the initial odds, after all our rivals are not fantastic this season which I now think city will still win it as arsenal and Liverpool can't maintain consistency till end.

Just for what it’s worth, palmer wasnt great v Luton, but stat wise was involved in all goals, he very much drifted in and out of the game, which is fine and happens,
*was massive mistake from Luton to pass him the ball, superb finish, but an error leading to goal,

* his assist for noni, was a goal that was all maduekes doing, the pass / assist didn’t make it easy for him or split a defence or put him in,

* brilliant run, unreal feet and finish,

This is moments, salah is a prime example of someone who can not be good or in a game and give a 6/ 10 performance and finish with 2 goals,
