Personally, I like this whole European Super League fiasco just for the fact that I think it’s a wake up call to UEFA and maybe FIFA (in the long run) . Speaking as a fan: as much as I like the way the European football leagues are played especially the English Premier League and UCL (at the moment), it can be improved upon. Hence, one can tell from experience that nothing forces business owners to improve on their products like breaking their monopoly.

As much as we don't need to be reminded of the demerits or effects of monopoly, it's one terminology that should never be encouraged in an sphere of business or service production.
perhaps, the question we should be asking ourselves is: why have some of the biggest clubs in a competition's history (UCL) decided to break the competition's monopoly by leaving the competition very quickly with the emergence of a new competition body (ESL)? Perhaps, it goes down to needs, wants, ends, disappointments etc. Whatever be the reason for the break away, I think it’s time for UEFA to start 'campaigning' again by telling us what they can do to better our lovely game of football; and not just throw tantrums (like threatening to expel clubs from their present league competitions, punishing players that played in the ESL etc. ) . We can deduce from Mr. Florentino Perez's recent comments that the club's debt (~900m) is one reason for Real Madrid joining the ESL, I believe that most clubs that joined the ESL would also be for similar reasons and more. I think how UEFA react to the problems plaguing clubs which is perhaps the reason (s) for the break away would tell if UEFA is indeed the right body to follow.

Why? Because they want more money and they want to protect that revenue if they have a crap season. Finished 9th? No problem you can still play in the ESL and earn all that lovely cash.

Spurs last won the title. 60 years ago. City and Chelsea were bumbling along until Roman and the Sheikh appeared. Clubs that were big yesterday may not be big today, and clubs that are big today may not be tomorrow. It’s protectionism, pure and simple, designed to generate more cash.

And the worst thing? It’s the English teams, and my club in particular that is leading this, I’m ashamed.

I’m completely against it, agree with pep, it’s not a competition it’s and exhibition. Perez said Madrid lost 400 last year, Barcelona billion in DEBT, Liverpool and arsenal too, there using premier league and out clubs brand and fans to bring them more money, they take most of the pot in Spain and now want it in Europe, premier league made a rod for its back when being promoted to premier league made clubs the same as winning the champions league, do a Netflix style subscription in England for every game, £15 a month, lose sky and Bt and real our own rewards and own benefits, premier league would be a training and fringe players to get j to team for super league games, losing won’t matter. No excitement, it’ll be like being a neutral and not caring who wins or scores.
