There’s a lot of quietness about Chelsea’s move for a DM, a lot of people say it’s a good sign which could mean something might be happening behind the scenes. Well🤞.
Going all out for a DM now has its merits and demerits; waiting till next season for a DM has its merits and demerits too. Quite a decision to make, which would you prefer: go all out for a DM now or wait till next season? Thoughts guys, please Ed001 I would appreciate your thoughts.
{Ed001's Note - personally I think they should have just kept Ampadu and used him there. That was the decision for me. Now anything else is simply putting off a decision on what to do with Ampadu, which is not fair on the lad, nor is it good for his long term chances of making it at Chelsea.
On the actual going for one now or wait, I think Frank has enough to work on for one season. If you don't want inconsistency, you need to give players time together to gel. You are already trying to integrate more players than is really comfortable, probably best not to add to that. You do need someone, but I think you have to know when to stop buying and start trying to put together what you have.}

To me Ampadu has similar qualities to Rice and should be considered for a squad position before anyone else is brought in.
Hopefully he has a good season at Sheff Utd and cements a place next season but I have a feeling Rice is the chosen one.

ED001, a few questions if you don't mind. Thomas Partey, is he the type of profile Chelsea need? I do like Rice as a player but like you said, Ampadu could do a similar job. I've seen Partey play a few times and have been impressed each time, but will he do the job that Franks wants? Not even sure we are looking to Partey and to stump up 50 million euros in one payment seems unlikely. What are your thoughts if you have time.
{Ed001's Note - Partey can play a number of roles to an extremely high level. He is a bit like Saul, a very good utility player that is often shoehorned into a role that doesn't really make the most of his attributes but he makes it work. The problem is that Partey's key asset is his mobility and he is very good at making driving runs forward but Simeone only knows how to make everyone play defensively. So instead of utilising Partey's mobility and ability on the ball, Simeone has him sit in front of the back four. To be fair to Partey he does the job very well, it is just that he could be even better allowed a bit of freedom.
I am sure he could do whatever Frank asked him to do and do it well.}

Thanks for your info ED. I do remember his performance against Liverpool last season (I think), he was superb and someone I would of liked to see at Chelsea. Thanks for your time, have a great day!
{Ed001's Note - he is normally excellent to be fair. He would be great in the Prem.}
