How long before a pundit or a member of the press say "if we don't beat Palace Lampard will be sacked"?

Not long Tom.

5 games - 2 wins is where we are at now. So far I haven't been impressed with any performances to date. let's hope we beat Palace but I have my reservations.

Lampard needs to stop this shoehorning players anywhere so that they are on the pitch, simply play your best 11 for God sake.

Mount needs a rest. His a young man and not a robot.

As ridiculous as that is and to talk of being sacked is, the word “ pressure “ will be getting used in every other sentence.

The use of the word pressure is used a lot by the press, pundits, fans and maybe posters.

I don’t worry about Lamos being able to handle so called pressure. This is a guy who took a penalty in a big Champions League game against Liverpool just a few days after the sad loss of mum and score. That’s a man IMO who can deal with pressure.

CFCShak, players are unfit and injured. Lampard hasn’t had much choice other than to shoehorn players into positions for the first few games. We have one winger in CHO and it’s been well documented he hasn’t had his head on straight the last year or so. Nearly every single poster has/ had posted lineups with Werner playing out wide as a LW both before he signed and before he’d played there against Barnsley.
Even the other day posters have been asking/ recommending Dave play as CB in w back 4 or Christensen playing as a DM. The fact of the matter is, until we get Pulisic and Ziyech back from injury we’ll likely see players continued to be played out of position.
Whilst I have no insight into Lampard ideas, he could have been playing Mount and Havertz out wide in previous games as a sort of remake of when we had Oscar/ Mata/ Hazard trio where they all interchanged etc,
Regardless, I think it’s a bit early to throw him under the bus for playing players out of position when he pretty much has no choice. (Granted some have been strange eg. Havertz as a false 9) half our players had no preseason at all due to having to quarantine, the other half had barely 2 weeks. With a fairly large influx of new players, it was always going to take time for the team to settle, get up to speed and begin to form partnerships. He should have given Mount tonight off and I’m sure we’ll make some other mistakes but I’ll be holding off judgement at least until after the next internationals and Pulisic/ Ziyech are back.

Top post Fuser, We will improve over the coming weeks and I’m sure our new players will prove to be sound investments.
