This isn't a criticism or anything. I merely just want to know from fellow posters. Ed1 get involved?

What does Mount bring to the 1st 11 when he plays in a key attacking role other then his off the ball workrate which is good. I'm talking about key passes, take-ons, crosses, assists and goals?

{Ed001's Note - he is more of a link man, he links up the play well. He creates spaces for others to use and he does score goals.}

I agree with ed he brings energy and drive and is not short of quality either.

Fair enough. I suppose I'm waiting for key passes, dribbles, assists etc. I don't think his all that creative or inventive. You reckon he will be good enough to be in the Chelsea Side (best 11) when all the players are fit?

{Ed001's Note - he is going to struggle to get into the best 11, but that is because you will buy top class players to fill the team.}

Fair enough Ed.

For the good of the team and for the good of Mount himself, Lampard needs to stop forcing him into the team. I respect Mount is always wiling to work 110% in games but he just isn't a winger.

Much rather Lampard plays Giroud or Tammy upfront and Werner out wide. or he plays CHO on the wings.

Out curiosity what's the situ with CHO mate?

{Ed001's Note - he just needs to get his feet back on the ground a bit.}

I’m 100% certain that Mount is more suited to a box to box role comparable to that of Kovacic. His mobility, ability to carry the ball forward, and defensive work rate would be a big plus in midfield. Meanwhile his lack of end product wouldn’t be as detrimental.

I think Chelsea will be playing a lot games this season and Kai won’t always start, perhaps we will see Mason Mount play in his favourite position (no 10) where he can make those passes, get some dribbles and assists.
Tk; Mason Mount’s lack of end product will get better, he’s still a kid as long as he’s a hard worker (which he clearly is) .
Hi CFCShak; i feel Hudson Odoi is getting what he deserves, he has to put in the work to be a better player. Sarri’s analysis of Hudson Odoi was very spot on.

On Hudson Odoi situation: there’s an adage we use in Igbo- Nigeria, it says, ‘calling a puppy a big name could sometimes lead to the puppy’s demise’. It means don’t ‘OVER’ praise a child, otherwise you run the risk of making the child think that success is a destination (when in the actual sense success is a continual journey) . Hudson Odoi shouldn’t think that he has arrived, he’s got free his mind, be humble and work.
