So basically, everyone is like « yeah KH scored a goal but his work rate was shocking ». Would you have preferred he ran himself to the ground and went into 50/ 50 challenges and got injured?! Im sure Leverkusen fans would have wanted that, they would want their star player to be at his best and give everything but obviously not us, at least not if we want to sign him.

No matter who the player is if you’re leaning towards the exit it’s going to be difficult to perhaps go a 100%. I agree he is still a Leverkusen player and they have every right to want him to finish the season but unfortunately he is but human and at the back of his mind he wouldn’t want to get hurt it’s a shame as I’m certain there is a part of him that would have wanted to do a « hazard » and win the EL before leaving but the placement of the competition and the season as a whole made things difficult, with the Euros next summer he would want to play in the champions league, he seems sold on Lamps vision and the Chelsea vision and what I saw from him was his usual brilliant floating through the game and nice touches but he shied away from physical duels to prevent any injuries.

I thought he had a decent game considering all that and I certainly wouldn’t be judging him off this game (more so that he has 17 odd goals and 11 or so assists) . Let’s put things into context here.

Good post, the thing is, Havertz is pretty much like that most games. I think a lot of people expect him to be this guy who is constantly running for the team, and they will be disappointed. This guy glides through the game effortlessly and always seems to be in the right position at the right time. Whether that's to make a challenge, receive the ball or like tonight, be able to give an receive the ball to finish with his weaker foot. The guy has it all.

18 goals and 9 assists this season from a variety of positions across the midfield and attack. I don't think our midfield got 18 goals this season combined and il be honest I don't want just another midfielder coming into the team who has high work rate but zero end product, we have kovacic who can run and dribble but can't shoot or assist, Kante who can run for days an tackle, no end product though, we have Barkley who has a engine on him, mount too who can run an pop up with a goal and assist then an there and finally we have jorginio who tries to run and can pass the ball around in non threatening positions. We need attacking threat from our midfield.

I just hope that if he comes, people on here won't give him slack because he looks like he doesn't to give much effort when or cba when in reality he is, he is just smart enough to know when the right time is to do it. His football intelligence and Positioning is crazy.

You could tell even before the game his head is elswhere but he still looked good. His defensive work rate may be a problem though, i've seen a handle of Leverkusen games and eventhough he presses, once the ball's past him rarely do you see him bust a gut to get back. Maybe that's because of tactical reasons but i doubt it. It's an issue i can see occuring with all of Pulisic, Havertz and Ziyech. They'll press but once that press fails their desire to get back and help can be questionable. Pulisic was like that at the start of the season but got better as it went on. Didn't rate Willian all too much but that was one part of his game he was great at.

Every time I have seen HZ he has actually been pretty good defensively. Just checked Whoscored to see if I have just watched the 5 or so matches where he’s been good and it’s been a coincidence, they say he’s strong defensively too, so that’s good. The other two maybe lol.
