Because of my age and underlying health issues I will now be spending the vast majority of my time indoors.

I will not be able to see my sons and daughter or grandchildren for sometime but if it keeps us safe then so be it.

Anyway, I was thinking if my fellow posters could share some of their football experiences (especially funny ones) with us all. I hope the Eds won't mind if a few non-football stories are also posted.

I'm sure, for people like me, it will ease the boredom.

Keep safe everyone.

Stay safe Tom, we need your optimism on this forum! Hopefully this will blow over soon so you can see your children and grandchildren again.

As for a football story, I don't reckon I have any good ones, although I do remember my very first match! It was my hometome team Fc Copenhagen playing in the Champions League group stages against Atletico Madrid at home. I think it was around 2007 or something, I was around 10 years old at the time. I don't remember much from the match, other than Atletico winning 2-0 I think and the atmosphere being absolutely incredible, which it always is when Copenhagen plays at home!

Thanks KTBFFH. Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen.

My first game was at Dulwich Hamlet I think they were playing Tooting! The first professional game I saw was I think Spurs v Ipswich the year Ipswich under Alf Ramsey won the league. My first Chelsea game was against Walsall, I think we lost 1-0.

My first game was Southend United against someone (can't remember who) as they were my local side. My first Chelsea game was against WBA in 1978. We lost 3-1 that day and went to be relegated with 20 points (2 for a win in those days) . Were you at that match Tom?

Seems like we're a few Danish guys on this site, KTBFFH :)
My first footballing memory was back when I was 4 or 5 years old. My local team - Aalborg - was playing against one of the weirdest teams in Danish football history, Herfølge - a team that managed to win the league and relegate the following year. My local team often handed out tickets to young players from the smaller clubs in the area, and I saw my team beat the reigning champions 4-0.
The first memory of Chelsea that I can clearly remember was the game where Ronaldinho scored that cheeky goal. Back then, my favourite player was Gudjohnsen :)

BruCeFC, most of the game around that era were losing games. I think most people thought I was bonkers supporting such a crap team.

I look back to the Docherty and Sexton days with lots of fondness but my god there have been plenty of low periods.

The Roman era is like a dream and with any luck could have been even better. Us fans owe him a huge debt of gratitude IMO.

Look after yourself tomB, and everyone else, one little football story was the first game I took my kids too, my son was so excited my daughter was not happy, our tickets were in two pairs so me and my son were close to pitch and wife and daughter right at the back, after 20 min or some stewards went to my wife and asked if they had trouble seeing as people kept standing up, my wife said yeah but it’s ok, here for my husband and son who are down there, and pointed to us, the steward saw there was two empty seats behind us and moved them to sit with us, my daughter who wasn’t keen was screaming the whole game trying to sing the songs and laughing when referee’s a ****** was sung. Both needed up loving it, was a memorable day with the family at the bridge.

Matt, I used to take my children and WIFE to home games and we had a pre-match ritual of food for the kids and drinks for the wife!

We were playing Man Utd and my wife fell asleep and snored through the match so loudly my kids wanted to move away!

BruceFC, I’m from Southend too, first ever game was Southend Vs Kidderminster. First time I ever heard my dad swear! My first Chelsea game was Vs arsenal in about 2003. I was about 10, we played arsenal and I distinctly remember seeing Mario Melchiot as he walked out of the tunnel and exclaiming! Look! He looks like Mario Melchiot!

My first game was circa 1979, I was about 11ish. Chelsea v Wrexham in the old 2nd division, at Stamford Bridge. I went with my neighbour who was a Chelsea fan in his Jag XJS! I think we won 3-1 and as I rememeber Ian Britton scored one. I don't recall loads about it though to be honest!

When I was a kid my mate and I used to stand behind The Cat and half time we could walk around the ground and stand behind him again.
In the days when the Mears family owned The Bridge their wasn’t much need for crowd safety or crowd trouble.

Little funny story. Chelsea v man utd FA cup final 2018. My boy was 7 his first final. He is going nuts with tears in his eyes with not long left screaming at conte to put willian on as the game was getting abit tense.
The final whistle goes, I turn round and the old guy sat next to us has my boy raised in the air both screaming their heads off.

Best feeling in the world seeing him so happy and first time he saw them lift a throphy.
Nearly missed the train home as I couldn't get him out of Wembley.

I couldn’t get a ticket for the Wembley final against Leeds.

So, watching the game on TV with my dad and we are losing. My dad is in the kitchen making a cup tea. We equalise I run out of the room running towards the kitchen shouting we’ve scored, we’ve scored. I jump and hit my head on the door frame and end up sparko on the floor and missed the remainder of the game!

I did get a ticket for the replay. What a night!
