Hello Ed01 and the guys. The squad has suffered a lot of injuries this season. Do you think it's lampard's t tactics causing it or just bad luck because Kovacic and Willian are down with achilles injury now too.

{Ed001's Note - injuries are not caused by tactics. They can be caused by under or over training players though. It is usually soft tissue injuries that are caused by that, ie pulls and strains. There is also a lot of other factors to consider, such as rest periods. A player with a young baby who is not sleeping and so keeping him awake, for example, is at more danger of picking up a knock.

Looking at the injuries over the season and there have been a fair few avoidable ones, but that also could be down to players not being fit enough previously and trying to get up to speed under Lampard. It is too early to really be able to judge, being perfectly honest, but the early signs are worrying. I would hope the club would be investigating as there are indicators of an issue, the problem is figuring out whether it is the training, diet, lack of rest etc.

I personally do not have enough information at hand to assess what the likely cause is in Chelsea's case. There have been signs in matches that players are not quite fit enough though, as you could see at the end of the midweek game that so many were down with cramp. It does look to be a problem.}

Thanks for the insight man.
I meant to say training regime not tactics. I hope they look into it though as it is getting out of hand.

{Ed001's Note - I am sure they are already doing so.}

Ed I was thought similarly for arsenal under Wenger. They always complained at losing so many players so regular throughout multiple seasons, would you put that down to his training then? It seems strange that it went on for so long and they were unable to stop the trend.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, it was defo down to training issues. I remember Newcastle having a similar problem, they sacked their fitness coaches and then Liverpool hired them and suffered the same injury problems. It happens a lot. Players are individuals and need individual training and diet plans but they also need to be trained to suit the style of play asked of them. If you play high intensity but the players are being trained at a low intensity, then they are going to struggle to avoid picking up injuries during games.}
