all summer i have been listening to people talking saying how hard it will be for us without hazard ect, so it got me thinking!, hazard scored 16 goals and assisted 15 in premier league that's his best ever season, minutes played 2,926,he's 29 in January so this is his peak, can his numbers improve? maybe, so i then checked callum hudson odi minutes 391 it works out at 4.3 full games in the league, i know he's injured apparently back in a couple of weeks, im optimistic that he will be involved in 30 + plus games and probably get 10 goals or so, maybe 5-10 assists also, as well i thought of rlc so i checked his minutes ect, he played 982 minutes in the league that works out at 10.9 full games, even with his injury if he came back december ish got back in the team the middle of january he would still have 17 games remaining and that's after getting back into it for 2/ 3 weeks so potentially he could get 5-10 goals 5-10 assists, add to that pulisic who we could say is hazards direct replacement its all ifs and buts, but . if he had a good season maybe he could get 15-20 goals and assists combo, in a nutshell between these 3 players 2 getting more minutes should equal more goals and pulisic will score goals, add a more free barkley and mount we could share a lot of goals and actually score more goals than last season, plus hazard was amazing top 3/ 5 players in the world but everything went through him, maybe now we will be a better team, more of a unit all in all im very happy and looking forward to growing as a young team.

I truly think letting hazard leave at this point will turn out to be a blessing. Yes, he won us countless games and his numbers don’t account for the level of attention that the opposing teams had to pay him. With that said, he started playing elite football at 18 and he’s 29 now.

He’s never been accused of being the fittest of professionals which is evidenced by him coming back to real out of shape which is something he’s done with us also. This begs the question of how he will age especially as someone dependent on his burst of pace.

He contributed next to nothing defensively and lead to us having to engage in abnormal tactical systems to cover the left flank. In stating he would’ve signed a five year contract on deservedly extortionate wages that his performances likely wouldn’t reciprocate. We also managed to acquire £100m that can be used on other players in selling him. The timing of his sale hurts in that we can’t sign anybody this offseason; however despite the short term ramifications of his sale, I have no doubt in my mind we will be grateful of this outcome long term.
