Lampard : We want to be adaptable. That's the way we train and I want the players to have that. We know we're not bringing any players in so we need to find little ways in pre-season and we want to try to make it difficult for teams to play against us

Not a shock but confirmed that no new players will be coming in or ban frozen.

Did you really think it would get frozen? The transfer window is not even open for much longer, we would have to spend way over the odds for players and then wouldn’t we be banned for next summer? Lampard would be under pressure straight away if we go spending 100s of millions. Least I won’t have to take a day off work to be glued to sky sports news on deadline day.

I feel frustrated by this hole transfer joke that’s going off I feel there are loads of good players wanting to leave there teams this transfer window unlike many before the players are more powerful now and say it has it is and we’re stood still the big players neymar Mbappe Griezmann and the rest, now am not saying we would be able to sign them but the players moving a side for them in some teams I would take and they would make us better.

What did we have to lose getting the bam frozen, it’s going to be a two window ban either way, and the fact we lost one of the best players in the world I though we’d invest that into a goalscorer, and if we don’t get too 4 then next season when we can buy teams will know we have a large transfer kitty and will be in Europa league so we will always have to pay over the top. We were years behind city and off and the squads weaker and we further from them rather than closer and I don’t want to hear Tammy and Mount etc as there PL experience is non existent at the moment, least non we have a manager who gives a toss.

Let’s assume we had asked for the ban to be frozen. We would in all likelihood be in the same position next season.

IMO including Christensen, we could have eight academy players in the first team squad this season. For me that’s quite an exciting prospect. If we get 140 games in total out of those players that would, again IMO, be a result.

We will start the season with a big squad but this will give Lamps the chance to fully evaluate the players. We can in JUST five months time loan or sell players not being utilised. It also gives cover for our current crop of injuries.

I think the only two players likely to be sold for the remainder of this window are Drinkwater and Zouma.

Also IMO, the team starting against Utd will be as follows:-
Kepa, Emerson, Luiz, Christensen, Dave, Barkley, Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic, Pusilic and Giroud. The press will no doubt make negative comments buts its a long season!

Of course you should include AC in that list, Tom :)
He is an academy product, and I recall he was the first of our academy products to start a certain amount of league games in a row since Terry in Conte's last season. Since we've gotten RLC and CHO to play some games, most have forgotten that he too is an academy product :)

Emil, the Christensen thing was more a reflection of him being slightly a more established part of the squad.

I think the ban may be somewhat healthy in that we have allowed our loan contingent to accrue for years without any attempt at seeing how players integrate and how much success on loan spells correlated with success at our club. While there are available players, you must consider how much they add to our squad and that by adding them you’re blocking another player or players from getting a chance to succeed in the squad. Outside of a striker, I’m not sure how many additions would’ve been made this summer had the ban not been in place.

Im not sure what direction chelsea is going if they feel we don't quality signings unless it's impossible to overturn the ban. IMO, even without losing Hazard, we really needed quality signings to strengthen the team. It only takes the spirit of being a fan to think we can challenge for titles this season. Not used to such doubts as a CFC fan though.
I feel many of us are too obsessed with the youths being given chance than it's reality. Our young players have potential to become very good players but to expect instant hit from them and challenge City, Liverpool and other big wigs in Europe IMO is a wishful thinking. All of them will require time and some unfortunately may not be good enough for Chelsea. It was obvious from last season that we needed an effective striker which have become even more worrisome with Hazard's departure. Still don't really know where the goals will come from but I'm not so optimistic with the team we have and a rookie coach. I feel this is the weakest Chelsea team in Roman era.
In essence, Chelsea must try to appeal the ban to be frozen unless it is impossible as I feel we need more strategic signings to compete because not only that we are not as strong as before but our rivals are getting stronger.

If they were going to ask for the ban to be frozen IMO it have happened by now. I think we should just except the situation and move on!
