IMO next season there are just two teams who will challenge us for the title. They are obviously City and Liverpool.

The spuds will be there usual disappointment and there fans will spend the season truly believing they will win something. Deluded springs to mind

Utd are rebuilding but next season will IMO be to soon for them to mount a challenge.

Arsenal are IMO, a total shambles who are going to struggle big time. In fact I fancy Leicester and Everton to finish above them.

So, Just two teams to worry about and with Lamps weaving his magic I remain, as always, super confident.

COME on MY MIGHTY BLUES.

I like your thinking Tom . for me as long as we finish top 4 that would be a good season for me.

I’m sorry but do you really think we’ll challenge for the title? If we do challenge, sarri had a shocker of a season (which I don’t think he did)

Fingers crossed, but regards to spurs. They’ll have Kane ndombele alderweiland ( spelling ) and lloris add the that Poch. That maybe excluding lloris as error prone is one hell of a spine, United will no doubt get there big CB signing and have a upgrade at right back so there improving, arsenal I’m sure have more to spend that media saying. Going after Zaha rather than defenders would be silly, they score goals so if they could tighten up in the back they’ll improve. Liverpool and city are years ahead, Leicester will be better but depends if they sell maguire, so could say only team not to improve as loss of hazard is us?

I'm with ya Tom, while the ban means we can't sign anymore players at the moment, Frank has a fair few players he may look to integrate. Drinkwater is often regarded as a poster boy flop but I still think he could do a job, Bakayoko I tend to think is useless but he could prove us wrong? that's without the countless others on the books (not including James, Mount, Tammy or Tomori because everyone's always loving them off anyway) Pasalic, Kenedy, Zouma, Musonda etc.

I'm positive that Frank can create a side capable of challenging for trophies without any major signings. Looking forward to a good season!

Martin, yes we lost Hazard and yes, he was fantastic for us but I truly believe it will give players with a higher work ethic the chance to shine.

I think the likes of CHO and Pusilic will be a revelation under Lamps.

Spurs will end up disappointing there fans yet again. They don’t have winning players or a manager that know how to win.

I think this season will be good for us. actually very good as we need to bleed on a few youngsters. Maybe this will be our turning point of the last couple. of years of having instant success. don't get me wrong i love winning trofees and all but we need to build a solid team for a few years to come. A lot of our new team member's looks like they are quite young so that's good.

Listen I love the hope and expectation and I don’t want to come across negative but facts are facts. We are weaker than last season. ( hazard > Pulisic ) Mount isn’t near as good as the chelsea hype, people talk like he was player of the year in championship when he didn’t get near team of the season. Tammys strengths will be tested buy the best defenders week in week out, other teams are busy and we can’t do what they are. We’ve needed a goalscorer Donde Costa left, we’ve need willian / Pedro replacing for 3 years and now lost the best player in the league, the squad has lacked firepower for a few years and this year it won’t be no different. unfortunately IMO.

Standard, as good as Hazard was on so many occasions last season and I know this will sound weird but I think he was a luxury in a Sarri set up.

He made me get out of my seat on so many occasions but I think with a 433 you need the wide two to work up and down the pitch and that wasn’t his strength.

I do agree to some degree Tom that hazard never suited Sarri ball, but also worth noting his individual brilliance carried us to top 4, and Jord working wise men is good if you have a top class no10 creating / assisting and / or a goalscorer up front . we need player slike Mount James Tammy introduced and used in the squad. not to be relying on them.

I think we will grow stronger without Hazard. He will always be a Chelsea legend for me and a awesome player. I think we relied on him to much as that is what you should do when you have THAT quality in your team. Look at Messi Ronaldo Neimar Mbappe. I just think without him we need to learn to play as a team and rely on each other. and that to me make a good strong team.

Yeah as a team. People on here have said repeatedly, Alonso isn’t good enough. Willian isn’t good enough. Giroud doesn’t score enough. Kovecic doesn’t score goals and best position is probably the same as £57m jorginho who doesn’t score or assist and we’ve been told he can’t play in a two. so our hope as a team is RLC getting and staying fit. Pulisic hitting the ground running and CHO getting back for snd sharpe again.

This Jorginho goal/ assist thing has got to stop! Really and truely

Makalele - 144 league games, 2 goals 4 assists - no abuse about goals or assists
Mikel - 249 league games, 1 goal 10 assists, no abuse about goals or assists

These two are seen as integral to the clubs previous exploits.

Jorginho - 37 league games, 2 goals 0 assists

Not all players have the same job, so just because Jorginho isn't getting the right stats for some people, doesn't mean he's not doing good.

Makalele, Mikel and Jorginho are all deep lying midfielders who had certain jobs to do. The former to break play while the latter is the one who dictates the play. I've said it before, the late end of the season, Jorginho came into his own.

A well reasoned point dihanio!

{Ed001's Note - how so? Jorginho is a creative playmaking midfielder, his job is to build the play. Both Mikel and Makalele were primarily there to break up the opposition play. They are completely different kinds of players, it is silly to compare them. You may as well compare Jorginho's stats with Kepa's for all the relevance it bears.}

Ed, my point is, the starting position of those 3 players is basically the same, a CDM position for want of a better phrase. So comparing starting positions.

Jorginho is there to "assist the assiter", if that makes sense. For instance, he's there to find Willian who, in turn finds Giroud.

His Play and passing starts further back so he should be rarely that far forward to make that final pass too, with Kante/ RLC/ Barkley etc ahead of him.

Added to that, abysmal finishing last season when he did give the final ball, he can't be blamed totally for no assists.

{Ed001's Note - I understand what you are saying but you can't compare their stats. Xabi Alonso played the Jorginho role and he would be the comparable player. Jorginho is simply just not that good at the role he is asked to play, not his fault, he was being used incorrectly. It was possession for possession's sake.}

A midfield of jorginho kante kovecic hasn’t got any goals there, it’s fine when u have Mikel Essien makalele when u have a gram Lampard scoring 20 and assisting 10-15 and Drogba adding 15 goals. Robben joe Cole duff ballack and JT all contributing. Good teams have balance, we have kante jorginho kovecic who’s best positions are all at a vas’s of a midfield.

A quick google has Xabi on 17 league assists in 143 games. Better return at the moment.

You have to compare who played in front of both players too. Prime Torres and Gerrard, both could finish.

Jorginho was working with Morata, Giroud, Higuain, Willian. Even Hazard couldn't finish some of the passes made to him.

6 and a half minutes of failed assists:
