All we as fans do is hope that the board or management of the club will take the right decision. Tbh, I don't think that letting two key players (ie Hazard and Kovacic) leave a team with no similar or capable replacement (s) is a good decision. Hazard's transfer is understandable but I don't think it is a wise decision not keep Kovacic (esp if we want to keep the team-blend and our good football culture going) . Losing two important players from a team that finished third in the EPL and won the Europa league (when we can lose one and have one) is not a wise decision, similar thing happened when we lost Diego Costa and Matic without capable replacements. I hope we aren't setting ourselves up again?

We have a PL title winner and a french title winner available at no cost.
Why spend £30/ 40m for someone who contributed little in the season?
And supposing we returned to playing 4231 where would we fit in Bakayoko/ Barkley/ Drinkwater/ Kante/ Jorg allowing for Lofty/ Mount to play middle of the three?
If we are to spend anything it should be on a striker IF and only if we can get someone significantly better than we have Giroud/ Tammy/ Bats.

We have already bought Pulisic - we are tying up a contract with CHO - we have Bakayoko returning and Mount / Reece James as possibilities. Not to mention Batshuayi / Pasalic / Morata (unlikely) / Abraham / Dasilva / Zouma etc - I think we'll be ok!

Tend to agree and think that especially with transfer ban shadow there we must keep Kovacic who played v well in Baku and if gaining more consistency in second season could become a very important player for us.

Very good points Turvey and you other lads are IMO putting up sound arguments.

I don’t think (subject to the ban) we would be spending big money in this window. I know we have looked at CFs but let’s not buy just for the sake of it.

It could well be better to take the ban on the chin for this window.
