Sarri came out and said the players are difficult to motivate. Both Mourinho and Conte said the same thing about, what is pretty much, the same squad of players.

Definitely time to back the manager and build a new squad that is based on their football.

Play the right players in the right position and give players that deserve ago a run keeps saying it’s hard to motivate but plays same system same players.

Also you can't pinpoint the manager as the problem here. Its a collective issue which involves the players because they play, the manager because he picks them and the board for poor past signings which they are trying to correct the issue now.

But we need to back the manager here. In my opinion we need to start getting replacements or cover for the following;

- both fullback positions. Neither are good at playing possession based football. Azpi is terrific for a defensive manager and will continue to be so.

- midfielder who scores and creates. We have one in RLC who is injured. Barkley and Kovacic don't have the cutting edge to assit or score despite playing more advanced. I would love Coutinhio. Obviously a replacement to rest Jorhinho is needed too.

- Central defender to replace luiz in the future, Luiz has been superb for us. He will go down as a great at the bridge. Deserves so much credit. Sarri needs him long term.

- Cover attacking players. Cover for pulisic, hazard and CHO because Willian and Pedro may leave and are aging anyway. Not enough goals from willians and pedro anyway. I suspect Hazard will leave and god knows what the situation is with CHO. This may be an area of complete transformation. A lot depends on outgoings here.

- Strikers. As a club we have been so hit and miss here. Drogba and Costa are the two successes of recent times.

Big recruitment needed at the bridge. Its not an overnight resolution. It will take many windows to fix. Even if you replace the manager the above issues need addressing. Cudos to all the above for being fantastic and making us the most successful team in the last 5 years or so. However, thebolayers are all reaching 30's and some have advanced.

This will be sorted. Have faith

fullbacks, a strong defender to replace Luiz in the future. Goal scoring midfielder and a striker.

As an outsider looking in (LFC), are much of Sarri’s difficulties with the lack of a top striker not the consequence of the late and poor recruitment last Summer?
Whilst I guess he had some input into the Summer purchases (Jorginho), I’d understood that Chelsea’s transfer process was placed with others?
It feels like he’s carrying the can for the problems elsewhere in the club?

It’s the managers job to motivate players make them enjoy an believe it what there doing am watching it and I don’t believe in the why we’re playing and definitely not enjoying it. Think about it Kante the trophies he’s won while being here not just team trophies individual ones from playing in his best position but Sarri doesn’t think that’s his best position so how do u motivate Kante to play in a position he’s not great in hazard loves to be on the ball and attack Sarri puts him up front on his own as a false 9 we’re he hardly sees the ball and there is a forward on bench doing nothing and let me point out hazard and Giroud have good chemistry as well when they play together so how do you make hazard believe that what Sarri is doing is right you don’t because it’s not. And these changes are all to suit Jorginho a player with 2000 touches and 0 chances created how do u make anyone believe.

Couldn’t agree more J,

Some fans will correctly say changing managers has given us success but I crave a period of stable management and although I didn’t want Sarri, he is now our manager so I guess we should support him although his stubbornness isn’t doing him any favours.

nibby i couldn't agree with u anymore when u say about how can players be hapoy when he plays the same team week in week out and never drops players playing badly. pep dropped sane for 3 games start of season look at him. he dropped walker for a few games he's back in an flying. alonso jorginho amd willian and pedro shouldn't be near our line uo.

I agree with the sentiment of your posts Nibby and Magic.

I suppose we have to reserve any criticism of Hazard until is back playing in his usual position.

J, spot on mate and this was my point when I mad the argument for keeping Conte but we are were we are.

As a club we have been spoilt with natural leaders and this is a squad that sadly lacks leadership.

The manager cannot abdicate himself from all responsibility and indeed he hasn’t but the continual changes of managers has, in my opinion, to change.

I was talking to some fans yesterday who said part of the problem with Jorginho is with Hazard playing as a false nine means the central area becomes crowded. ’He is seen as our main danger and therefore it blocks an avenue for Jorginho.

It’s a reasoned argument but probably to simplistic.

I’m old fashioned, when a player has a lengthy period of poor form, just drop them. Also, I’m not a fan of playing players out of position.

Juicer, we don't need your input - just let us get on with wallowing in our despair.
