Oh boy, is Koulibaly a beast of a center back. Yes, he did get wrecked by Salah, but that can happen to anyone when Salah's on this level. Just imagine Rudiger and Koulibaly together, would be such a strong, fast pairing, where both are capable of passing well. Know that he'd cost more than a fortune, and that dealing with de Laurentiis is near impossible. But what an addition he would be to any team in the world.

I agree i think we need a top CB as well as Striker and RW Koulibaly or Skriniar would be perfect.

{Ed0333's Note - Koulibaly is an absolute beast. He would strengthen any defense in the world, or even Upamecano from Leipzig would be great for you guys.

Koulibaly is quality. Never heard of upamecano ed0333, I’ll have to try watch a few of his games.

{Ed001's Note - you will be impressed, Upamecano is incredible.}

I’ve heard of him but never watched him. Think De Ligt will be the future best defender though. Unreal that boy and already a leader.

{Ed001's Note - you really think he is that good? He has been dreadful every time I see him. No positional sense at all.}

Tbh I don’t watch him every week I’ve only followed him in the champions league but I’ve been impressed. I’d still obviously rather Koulibaly or Skriniar to partner Rudiger though we’d be next level then.

{Ed001's Note - do you not think Koulibaly is too similar to Rudiger? They are both all physical power and pace, surely you need a Luiz/Ampadu ball player alongside him?}

How is Upamecano on the ball? Is he 'just' a beast or also a good ball player?

{Ed001's Note - he is actually very decent on the ball, but not at the level of Ampadu or Luiz. But a level or two above Rudiger.}

He sounds like a very good signing then. What I don't get, however, is how you seem to not rate Rudiger at all on the ball? I actually think he makes very few mistakes, and every once in a while, he makes passes like the one David Luiz made in the weekend. At least, I think he's quite decent on the ball!

What do you think of Benjamin Pavard, Jonathan Tah and Niklas Stark, Ed001?
Would they be good signings for Chelsea at CB?

{Ed001's Note - Pavard I like, doesn't hurt that he is good enough on the ball to not look out of place at full back in the World Cup. Looks like he could be a good ball playing centre back.

Tah is excellent too, not sure he is quite good enough on the ball, but he is certainly close to being good enough. He is one of those players that could play alongside a ball player or a powerhouse and fit together with them.

I can't comment on Stark as I have only seen him play midfield.}

I think these are some plausible options to go for. Getting Rugani or Romagnoli is a hassle in itself.

We’ve Ampadu there already just use him more like Ed said he’d complement Rudiger or Zouma very well imo.
