Hi guys, so its me with the weekly question to keep the banter flowing (eds can chip in with their answers too) .

Which Chelsea player (doesn't matter which era) never got the praise he deserved/ deserves? For me by a country mile it was Ivanovic (actually watched loads of All goals scored by Chelsea season by season and Ivanovic had chipped in with some really important ones, not mentioning his ability to play az both RB and CB. And he always seemed like a player who gives his all and is really focused.

Just pressed send button to soon as also wanted to add that: I remember once we were winning like 3 0 but when Ivanovic scored he was celebrating like he scored a winning goal, it meant so much to him.

It’s a tough question that because I feel most players did get the credit they deserved at the time but maybe not so much after they left. Mad to say but at times it honestly feels like people forget just how crucial Cech was for us, especially since he went to arsenal. Deco as well was unplayable at times and played a decent role in us winning the double but got a bit unlucky with injuries and is seen as a flop by most people.

john obi Mikel, always gave his all and done the job he was asked, spent along time st club won a lot and even played when had family issues. When not playing never disrupted and spoke to press. Not best player but played a few unreal matches in Europe, v Barcelona etc,

For me it’s Peter “ Nobby “ Houseman. He was a great player, so underrated.
Unfortunately taken too soon in a car crash.

I think Obi Mikel is a great shout. Was at the club for a long time and played in some big games. I also think its easy to forget just how good a striker Hasselbaink was for us, I'd take an in form Hasselbaink in our side right now!

Actually, someone who did get a lot of credit towards the end. Ivanovic. The man was a beast, CB or RB, scored huge goals too. Cup winning goals,

Damien Duff, an absolute joy to watch. Robben gets a lot of plaudits for the 04/ 05 season, but Duff was an equal, in my opinion.

And rarely mentioned since he left.

Paul Canoville - amazing that he stayed so long enduring the NF Bulldog abuse from the simple-minded.

And that champions league final is the biggest trophy that Chelsea has won as a club. Mikel played many good games for Chelsea. He's one of those players that we in Nigeria feel his talent and skills was sacrificed at Chelsea (playing defensive midfield cos he was never a defensive midfielder) . He went to Chelsea when Chelsea had some top midfielders like Lampard, Ballack, Essien, Makalele; despite those big names he still played games and at some point became a regular like in EPL title winning season under Ancelotti. I am Nigerian and we know and saw first hand the kind of talent and skill that Mikel Obi had- which was evident when he ranked as the second best player (behind Lionel Messi) at the World under 23 tournament; up till today a lot of Nigerians are still not happy that he went to Chelsea cos maybe going to Manchester United (Alex Ferguson) would have been the best place for him as a young kid then but Mikel Obi loved Chelsea, he's a hard worker that played for Lampard and Terry (the defense and the midfield) - which is why he stayed long at the club (How's it that all the Chelsea myriad of coaches seemed to like him? I feel there was something that he brought to the team) . True Chelsea legend for me.
